Job purpose

We are looking for an experienced marketing communications professional to help us increase our reach and build new audiences across the veterinary sector and with animal owners. Reporting to the head of communications, marketing and digital, the role will oversee the development of a range of marketing approaches to ensure our products and services are well supported and promoted to relevant audiences in engaging, creative ways.  

As our marketing lead, you will develop and execute innovative and effective campaigns to help us achieve our strategic aims. Key responsibilities

• Establish an annual marketing calendar incorporating ‘always on’ and one-off campaigns.

Essential Criteria

 Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• A track record in, and passion for, marketing communications gained in either in-house or agency roles.
• Experience of planning, executing and evaluating effective marketing campaigns.

• Experience of creating engaging content for a range of platforms, which follows best practices and supports marketing objectives.
• Experience of agency, freelancer and supplier management, including the ability to brief and on-board new suppliers.
• Excellent writing and editing skills.

• Experience of working with digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media, email marketing, CRM and content management systems.

• Ability to build strong and effective working relationships internally and externally.

• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time and in budget.

• Patience, initiative, sound judgement, and willingness to work as part of a team.
• Great communication skills – written and verbal.
• High level of IT literacy, proficient user of Microsoft Office tools.

• An understanding of brand management and how to ensure our campaigns and content reinforce our brand.

The Role

About the Role

Key duties and responsibilities

• Provide court representation for clients, including emergency actions, by attending hearings at Liverpool Civil and Family Court.
• Prepare and present cases ready for court hearings by checking time limits, adherence to pre action protocols by creditors, completing relevant court forms and checking fees/remissions.
• Negotiate with and signpost/refer to third parties as appropriate.
• Assist client with alternative dispute resolution cases e.g. Financial Ombudsman Service.
• Assist clients with other related problems where they are an integral part of their case and refer to other advisers or specialist agencies as appropriate.
• Provide advice and assistance to other staff across a range of debt issues.
• Ensure that all work meets the quality standards of the AQS Debt Advice Services, the Citizens Advice quality assurance scheme and the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) quality framework.
• Meet the individual performance targets and engage positively in discussions with the Line Manager to maintain required levels.
• Provide regular reports and feedback to the Line Manager as required.
• Assist with social policy work by providing information about clients' circumstances through the appropriate channel.
• Work collaboratively with partner agencies, Liverpool Civil and Family Court user groups, local authority and other local statutory and voluntary organisations to increase access to the service and to the range of support and advice needed according to individual circumstances.
• Work as part of the CAL Money Advice Team and contribute to effective service provision.
• Work independently in the Liverpool Civil and Family Court with clients as well as working from home and at different sites within Liverpool according to client appointment need.

General

• Ensure achievement of MaPS accreditation to Court Representation level within 3 months of starting the role, if not already achieved.
• Attend relevant internal and external meetings as agreed with the Line Manager.
• Maintain an up to date working knowledge of all new relevant legislation through reading monthly subscriptions including relevant case law.
• Keep up to date with Citizens Advice aims, policies and procedures and ensure these are followed.
• Ensure that work reflects and supports the Citizens Advice service's equality, diversity, and inclusion strategy.
• Abide by health and safety guidelines and share responsibility for your own health and safety and that of colleagues.
• Identify own learning and development needs and take steps to address these with your Line Manager, including engaging in team meetings and supervision sessions.

Requirements

About us

The Court Specialist (Housing) Debt Adviser is responsible for providing a quality court representation service for clients facing court proceedings for housing and personal debt, including mortgages, secured and unsecured loans, who are not eligible for housing legal aid.

The project joins a programme funded by the Access to Justice Foundation that aims to sustain and improve access to early social welfare and family legal support and advice, to enable people to resolve these problems as early as possible and avoid the need for court or tribunal proceedings where possible. Where court or tribunal proceedings are needed, the project will provide the support needed to help people navigate the process effectively, including where support to prepare for court and at court is required. The focus of this project will be to provide housing debt court/tribunal support and representation to increase homelessness prevention.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be confident, motivated and willing to try new things, have excellent communication skills with an ability to work under pressure to achieve targets and outcomes with minimum supervision. You will need to have knowledge and experience of complex debt casework, and (county) court money claim, and possession proceedings as well as priority and non-priority debt advice, options and insolvency solutions.

The Corporate services and facilities manager is responsible for maintaining the housing and office estate, domestic assistance, handyworkers and reception/admin services. Responsible for a team of 7 staff you will work with the team to ensure we maintain a portfolio of 11 residential properties across Darlington managed by our Supported Living Service as well as overseeing the offices at our main site.

The Role

• This role ensures the efficient delivery of a comprehensive residential rehabilitation programme with emphasis on supporting residents’ transition to independent living within their community.

• At least one year’s experience of effectively managing professional staff.
• A good understanding of Safeguarding and the legal framework relevant to the provision of residential services for young people aged 16+.

The role oversees the operations of a full range of facilities owned by CMS, to be used flexibly for strategically driven services in relation to CMS’s vision and values. We require someone who develops and builds strong team relationships throughout the organisation, as well as with a small team of direct reports. We aim to offer a facilities service which is customer focused, professional and unobtrusive. Delivery of a quality service, which will embody the level of hospitality and welcome consistent with the CMS ethos, is a primary performance measure.

Your relationships

· This role will report to the Director of Finance & Corporate Services.

· This role will work collaboratively with others in the wider finance and corporate services group.

· This role will work closely with all staff and tenants across CMS

· Line management responsibility for the CMS House supervisor and conferencing and reception assistant.

Your responsibilities

Conferencing and reception

· Line management of a team of two staff: the CMS House supervisor and conferencing and reception assistant

· Ensuring team development to nurture a culture of welcome and customer service, while ensuring tasks are completed

· Giving direct support to the team, providing cover on reception and help for major events happening in the CMS House building

· Support the Director of Finance and Corporate Services in setting of policies and guidelines for the use of the CMS House building and for hiring of conference facilities to include rates, publicity, balance of use by internal/external people.

Facilities management

· Monitoring the contracted services for the supply of utilities (gas, electricity, water, etc) and selected services (windows, pest control, hygiene, refuse collection)

· Arranging and supervising building maintenance contracts - lifts, air conditioning, fixed equipment electrical testing, fire alarms, CCTV and others - and minor repairs as required. Renegotiating contracts as needed, involving the director of finance and corporate services and the CMS legal advisor as required.

· Maintain the performance of building services, optimising maintenance regimes and proposing improvements

· Liaise with existing tenants. Work with agency appointed by CMS to arrange marketing of the surplus office space and work with the CMS legal advisor on the tenancy agreements.

· Managing other properties owned by CMS (2025: three houses and two flats) which are let or licensed for occupation to employees and former mission partners, advising on maintenance as required

· Manage the maintenance of the pooled car fleet

Health and safety

· Responsible for the co-ordination of health and safety policy for the whole organisation, working with the support of consultants where required

· Maintain the building to meet health and safety legal compliance

· Carrying out daily and weekly checks as needed, e.g. fire alarm, water safety

· Arrange training of first-aiders, fire wardens and oversee fire drills

Other

· Flexibility with working hours as required e.g.: co-ordination of some maintenance out of hours to ensure minimal disruption and communication with contracts

· Manage the facilities budget and related invoice and expense administration

· Contribute to the Creation Care group in relation to the use of the building and car fleet

· Other reasonable duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Director of Finance and Corporate Services
