As Finance Director, you will work closely and collaboratively with Amit Sharma (Artistic Director/ CEO) and Iain Goosey (Executive Director), supporting them as they lead Kiln Theatre through a period of transition and growth. As a key member of the Senior Team, the Finance Director will be responsible for Kiln Theatre's financial health and for ensuring that effective controls are in place and that all regulatory requirements are met.

You will lead and manage the Finance department, ensuring that the finance operation at Kiln operates to the highest standards and is effectively embedded within the organisation.

The Finance Director will play a major role in contributing to Kiln Theatre's business planning and strategic development, including identifying opportunities for efficiencies, supporting the resilience of the organisation for the future, ensuring compliance with best practice at all times and helping the company to fulfil its creative and financial ambitions.

Key tasks

Cross-Income Stream Support

• Support the delivery of activity and appeals across major donor, corporate, legacy, and individual giving programmes.
• Identify and research prospective funders, including trusts and corporate partners. Assist in bid development, including desk research, gathering case studies, and impact data.
• Support the development and delivery of materials, campaigns, and digital content.

Events & Community

• Support the delivery and evaluation of in-house and third-party events.
• Assist individuals and groups supporting BeyondAutism within the community.
• Help steward participants and donors with timely and tailored supporter journeys.

Supporter Care & Communications

• Coordinate prompt and personalised thank-you communications.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on our CRM (Raiser’s Edge).
• Support the creation and scheduling of communications, both print and digital.

Team Coordination & Administration

• Manage the inbox and respond to supporter enquiries.
• Provide administrative support to the Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager and Head of Marketing, Communications, and Fundraising.

  About the role

  Our Policy and Public Affairs team exists to engage with, inform and influence key decision makers in the UK Government and health system in England to help ensure the UK remains a global leader in cardiovascular research, and improve treatment and care for the millions of people living with cardiovascular diseases across the UK.

  We have an exciting opportunity for a Public Affairs Officer to join our award winning and high impact team as we seek to influence the implementation of the Government’s Life Sciences Sector Plan.

  You’ll engage with Parliamentarians to raise awareness of British Heart Foundation (BHF) funded research in Westminster and in their individual constituencies, while proactively spotting opportunities to draw attention to the need to address the historic shortfall in cardiovascular research funding and how Government can do so.

  You’ll also support the delivery of a programme of activity and engagement that contributes to our wider Hearts Need More campaign, which aims to ensure cardiovascular disease remains a priority, from prevention through to cure.

  About you

  We’re looking for someone with an interest in and understanding of the UK’s political environment, with good insight into the workings of the UK Government and Westminster parliamentary procedure. You'll have an understanding of the role of BHF and other medical research charities in general, or a broader awareness of the UK’s research environment.
  
  You'll have some experience of working in the UK Parliament or within a public affairs in-house team or consultancy, and have excellent communication skills. Previous engagement with political stakeholders will be helpful, but we also welcome those who are keen to build these relationships.

  We’re looking for someone who can understand and distil sometimes complex information, simply and clearly in a range of formats – letters, briefings, social media posts – for a range of audiences. Strong organisational skills are also important, and any experience helping to organise or support events would be useful.

  Working arrangements

  This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.

Job Title: Refuge Worker

Location: This is an on-site role, located within the London Borough of Hillingdon, there may be a requirement to occasionally work in the London Borough of Hounslow. 
Salary: £28,857.12 per annum, inclusive of London weighting allowance if applicable

The post holder will provide high quality practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic violence and their children living in our refuges. This includes safety planning and enabling women to access housing, welfare, benefits, and legal advice. A key requirement is to provide personal welfare support and to ensure that women are provided with a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment in accordance with Refuge’s philosophical principles.  

As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.
