Based: Home-based. Our team work from across the country and we are happy to support remote working with the option to come into the London office (WC1) for occasional meetings

This role will support our transition from our in-house management platform to Salesforce.

The Opportunity

Our Membership Platform supports the College membership functions to make a difference to the lives of over 3.6 million children taught by our members. It is used to track, manage and support our members to access their benefits.

We are recruiting a Ruby Developer within the Service Operations team to manage our membership platform and provide support to users who access it. During the contract you will:

• Monitor and resolve any issues arising with the platform.
• Manage and maintain the platform so it remains operational. 
• Work closely with the Head of Data and Digital to successfully transform and move the current data and services to a new platform built on Salesforce.
• Support membership operations with reporting, payment and refund requests.

This would be an ideal opportunity to work on a project to move our data and processes from a Ruby platform to Salesforce which will move the College’s processes forward to ensure a strong future. In this role you will: 

• have autonomy for maintaining and managing our existing membership platform;
• work collaboratively with many of the team across the business, supporting recruitment and retention of our members; and
• help to grow the professional membership organisation for the teaching profession and be  part of the team driving the organisation forward at an exciting time for the future of the College.

Platform Management and Maintenance

Most of the time, you will be managing the membership platform, fixing any bugs, keeping the server up to date, ensuring stability, and providing reports to various stakeholders within the College.  You will also provide support to the membership team with refund requests through GoCardless and Stripe.

Data and Process Transition

You will spend some of your time working with the Head of Data and Digital to move all relevant membership data and processes over to Salesforce.  This will entail preparing data in the correct format and providing support to move automated processes over to the new system.

Skills and experience

Essential

• Proficiency in Ruby and Ruby on Rails, with 3+ years of experience and with a total of 8+ years in professional software development

• Technical expertise in platform hosting, integration and upgrades
• Solid experience in CSS using SASS
• Experience of Git development CI

Desirable

• Experience of using Salesforce 
• Experience of Using the Stripe API and GoCardless API
• Experience of using Heroku to manage servers and deployment

Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Children Support Worker to provide high quality practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic violence and their children living in our refuges.

The job involves working closely children and their mothers who are living in our refuges escaping domestic violence and other forms of violence and abuse.  A key requirement is to provide personal one to one and group support to children and young people to ensure they are provided with a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment.

The post holder will support children who have witnessed or experienced domestic violence and plan and provide stimulating, safe, and appropriate activities.

Often our research work involves collaborating with a group of other civil society organisations to provide evidence of why change in the land, food and farming system is needed, and generate action on these issues. 

The main areas of work are to: manage and deliver funded research projects (or projects with a research component) with partners, reflect with colleagues on what we are learning within and across workstreams as an organisation and sector, use this knowledge to create new ideas for research work, and support fundraising for these, as part of our ‘infrastructure’ role.

FearFree delivers services across the Southwest for victims, children and perpetrators of domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking with the aim to break the cycle of abuse and support all to live free from fear. We provide trauma responsive support, and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders and partners experience this in our daily delivery.

This exciting post will be working with children who have experienced or been affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence. Focusing on standard and medium risk cases, this role will provide practical and emotional support to children and young people, whilst working proactively with other professionals, with an emphasis on early intervention and awareness raising.

FearFree is committed to flexible and hybrid working and this role will be a mix of home based and office based, alongside requiring travel for multi-agency meetings and other deliverables. 

This role may include evening and weekend work when required. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Manage a caseload of low to high risk children and young people, predominantly through face to face appointments but also utilising virtual technologies and group work.

• Plan, recruit and deliver group work interventions for children and young people alongside colleagues. 

• Complete an initial assessment of the child’s needs so that you can identify and plan the support needed to address issues and prevent any problems from escalating.

We are excited to share an opportunity to join Refuge as an Eastern European Independent Gender  Violence Advocate (IGVA) as we enter an important new chapter of growth, supported by funding from the National Lottery Community Fund. This is a vital role which provides high quality practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic abuse and their children in the community.

You will be part of a highly skilled and supportive team committed to collaborative working and continuous learning. This role offers the chance to strengthen multi-agency partnerships to enhance outreach and support for survivors, while also contributing to increasing professional understanding of the specific needs of Eastern European women and children affected by domestic abuse and violence.

You will provide capacity-building in the form of advice, advocacy, support, and briefings across three London boroughs to statutory agencies and community organizations around the needs of Eastern European domestic abuse survivors, to embed best practice across our communities.

It is essential for candidates to be proficient in one or more Eastern European languages.

We particularly encourage applications from Romanian, Lithuanian or Polish speaking candidates.

You will have proven experience of providing direct emotional and practical support to women as well as up-to-date knowledge of legislation relating to survivors of gender-based violence.

Operations Assistant (Full Time – Office Based)  

Job Purpose:
The Operations Assistant provides support to the HR and Operations Manager by taking day to day responsibility, under guidance, for various facilities, safety and administrative processes, including HR administration, as well as responsiblity for locking/unlocking of meeting rooms, routine health and safety tasks and other matters that contribute to making the office a pleasant and functional environment in which to work. 

The duties will also include giving regular support to the Fulfilment Manager and under their guidance, process orders and support with despatch and deliveries, in addition to providing holiday cover, when the Fulfilment Manager is away.

Many aspects of this role require Manual Handling.

Brain Tumour Research is an exciting, innovative, and ambitious charity. We are passionate about finding a cure for brain tumours through the establishment of dedicated Brain Tumour Research Centres of Excellence around the UK.

Location:  Head Office, Milton Keynes (This is not a Hybrid role, and will require attendance at the office Monday through Friday – 9-5pm or 8.30 - 4.30pm)

Main duties:  

• Update internal HR databases, such as PeopleHR and employee files 

• Managing the WorkforUs mailbox 

• Recording and running reports from the database on sickness, leave, maternity etc 

• Assist in the preparation of HR standard template documents 

• Administering the onboarding and offboarding requirements for the organisation 

• To maintain the ATS when recruitment is live, and to support with the day-to-day recruitment activity, including but not limited to liaising with candidates, setting up interviews and preparing interview packs 

• Assisting with managing and maintaining database information for employee benefit schemes 

• Maintain and Update employee notice boards for HR and H&S 

• Opening, logging and distributing inbound post 

• Support with answering phone calls into the Office and responding to general enquiries 

• Recording and reporting on Environmental data 

• Assist with co-ordinating maintenance activities for the Office space 

• Support with H&S administration, such as Risk Assessments and Accident Reporting 

• To complete basic H&S checks including walk arounds, first aid kit maintenance 

• Support with Training requirements, booking of courses and the maintenance of a skills matrix 

• Monitor and maintain stationery requirements and office supplies such as milk, water 

• To assist with the setting up and presentation of the Meeting Rooms, to keep them well presented and to ensure that they are unlocked and locked each day. 

• To support the Fulfilment Manager on a regular basis with processing orders and deliveries 

• To cover in the absence of the Fulfilment Manager, the processing of orders and deliveries

• Participate with and support the HR & Operations Manager in HR projects on an adhoc basis

Location: You can be based near one of the following office locations - Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, Liverpool, London, Manchester or Newcastle. 

We operate a hybrid model of work i.e. a combination of in-person and remote, with flexible days in the office depending on business need and your preferences. We would typically expect in-office attendance an average of one day per week.  

Your office is where you will usually attend in-person events, training sessions etc. though some travel, to other offices and other locations, will occasionally be expected. The nature of this job means that regular travel to London will be required for events and meetings.

Purpose of the Role: As a key leader within our Partnerships and Income Development team, you will be responsible for driving sustainable income growth through high-impact, strategic and philanthropic partnerships with trusts, foundations and corporate partners.

Job Title: Deputy Service Manager (Maternity Cover)

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Deputy Service Manager to support women and children who are impacted by domestic abuse and other forms of violence against women and girls.

The deputy manager will contribute to the management of the IDVA, Outreach and Helpline Single Point of Access community based services, in line with Refuge’s policies and procedures and quality management system.  This involves working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership protocols and procedures that prioritise the safety of survivors.

The post holder will provide line management and support to staff. This will include providing supervision on complex casework issues such as child protection, overseeing operational emergencies and ensuring high standards of support.

Working closely with the services manager to ensure that contractual and other funding requirements are met fully and that Refuge’s high quality standards are maintained, the role may involve visiting potential sites and contributing to the establishment of new services in conjunction with the development team.

The job involves working closely with members of staff that support victims and survivors of domestic abuse using our services, which will include overseeing the delivery of groupwork and participating in multi-agency forums and multi-agency training delivery.

The deputy manager will act as an ambassador for Refuge, demonstrating Refuge values in their work.

As a member of the management team, the post holder will be required to participate in an out-of-hours management service.

This post is restricted to women due to the nature of the role. The Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.
