We are looking for a part-time Trust & Foundations Officer to be part of our team of dedicated staff at The Gingerbread Centre. The ideal candidate will be able to generate income from charitable trusts and foundations, meeting financial targets through building a pipeline of prospects and preparing, writing, and submitting fundraising applications.

Overview
This is an essential role that requires a variety of skills and the ability to work to deadlines. The ability to multi-task is a must, with the capacity to work in a busy environment, developing the charity’s relations with Trust and Foundation representatives. To also develop and implement strategies for short, medium or long term growth of the trusts and foundations income stream.

You will need:

• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
• An understanding of project budgets
• Experience of research and applying for statutory funding
• A level English
• excellent attention to detail
• the ability to identify and prioritise tasks
• excellent communication skills

Salary: £57,000 per annum.

We’ve built huge momentum – whether with regular national TV news coverage, a rapidly growing online supporter base, or though our recently overhauled brand. But we need a savvy, politically switched-on Head of Communications and Campaigns to keep that going, and to make it pay off.

Hospices are amongst our most loved community charities, and our job as the national charity for hospice care is to rally the public – as well as major donors like companies and trusts – to support these brilliant organisations.

You’ll need a strong eye for a story, and an integrated understanding of the full spectrum of communications, campaigns and marketing. You’ll likely be a specialist in one area – which is fine – but we want someone who can join the dots, spot the opportunities, and inspire a team of specialists.

Hospices are under huge pressure. Funding is tight, and demand is surging. This is your chance, in the coming years, to play a leading role in fighting for hospices to get the support they need – from government, from the media, and from the public.

About the role:

This role is home based and therefore requires an appropriately confidential home space in which to work.

As an IDVA you will:

• Identify and assess the risks and needs of domestic abuse victims using an evidence-based risk identification checklist.
• Focus on and prioritise high risk cases and provide a proactive, short to medium term crisis intervention service. Deliver individually appropriate tailored support and information, advocacy, and practical support.
• Work with high risk victims of domestic abuse to assist them in accessing services to keep them and their family safe. Develop individual safety plans to meet client's needs as identified in the risks and needs assessment.
• Ensure each victim receives an individually appropriate tailored support and information service that fully meets their needs, keeping complex needs central to all processes and decisions.
• Understand the legal framework relating to the protection of children and vulnerable adults, including the policy and procedures of the Local Safeguarding Adult and Children's Boards.
• Provide advocacy, and information to victims including exploration of legal and civil options, housing, health and finance and support clients through the criminal justice system.
• Support the empowerment of the client and assist them in recognising the features and dynamics of domestic abuse present in their situation.
• Provide information and advocacy to enable service users to navigate and understand the criminal justice process and ensure their rights are upheld in accordance with the Victims Code of Practice.
• Participate fully in the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference framework.
• Maintain accurate and confidential case management records and contribute to monitoring the service.

You will need:

• A SafeLives (or equivalent) IDVA qualification or the willingness to work towards.
• An ability to work independently and as part of a team, sharing, coaching and influencing others.
• A good understanding of domestic abuse including its impact on victims and their children.
• An understanding of the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management.
• Experience of working within a multi-agency and legislative framework.
• Experience of managing a complex caseload, and be able to prioritise work and deal with competing demands.
• Strong crisis management skills

Veterinary Surgeons at Blue Cross work on a healthy mix of emergency and routine treatments where our vets are exposed to a wide variety of medical, surgical and emergency cases, enabling rapid development of skills and confidence in general practice. 

With a shift pattern of Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, this provides you an excellent work-life balance. You will be a part of the evening and weekend rota, which is shared between vets based across Victoria, Merton and Hammersmith resulting in about 1 evening shift a month and 1 weekend day shift (compensated by time in lieu) every 6 weeks. Your hours will be based primarily at Victoria however we will need you to have the flexibility to support pets at our other sites when needed.

The Blue Cross Victoria hospital has been in operation since its opening in 1906, remaining steadfast in its commitment to helping pets and their owners in need.

Equipped with state-of-the-art veterinary facilities, you will be joining a hospital that spans six floors with six consultation rooms, two theatres, four minor procedure rooms and a laboratory including an ambulance service dedicated to transporting animals to and from the hospital. 

Victoria is a 24-hour hospital with a dedicated night team, allowing for much desired case continuity. You will take an active part in our team development days, where once a month we provide emergency services only, allowing time for in-house cadaver training, case discussions and team meetings.

About the role

As a Children’s Residential Worker, you will directly look after children and young people who have complex emotional and mental health needs due to trauma, loss and other adverse experiences.

You will be required to support children to regulate and understand their emotions. Working within a therapeutic framework, you will develop a direct programme of work aimed at developing authentic relationships with our children and young people (aged 12 – 17 years old on admission to the Children’s Home).

About the Service

Our Nightlight Service is proud to provide urgent support, crisis intervention and emotional support to people experiencing a mental health crisis in Hertfordshire as an alternative to statutory pathways.

We provide support to adults across Hertfordshire 7 days a week, 365 days a year through our helpline, crisis centres, crisis cafes and a weekend Crisis House. We aim to provide a safe space for people in crisis to talk and feel supported, be listened to without judgement, access relevant support with problem solving and facilitate access to external services when necessary. As a member of our team you will work closely with service users in crisis by using a person-centred approach as to ensure that each individual is supported with dignity and respect.

The objectives of Hertfordshire Mind Network’s (HMN) Nightlight Mental Health Crisis Services are:

• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health crisis in Hertfordshire.
• To increase early access to help for people experiencing mental health crisis in Hertfordshire, by providing a clear and effective pathway to services provided by Herts Mind Network and other third sector and statutory providers.
• To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• To provide an alternative pathway to people in distress and crisis to support better outcomes and reduce the demand on statutory crisis services and emergency services.

At the Crisis Cafes we promote and enable people to access support in a way that suits them, whether that’s through talking to someone or simply by providing a safe space to have time alone or engage with trained staff.

About the Role

Mental Healthcare Support Workers are key members of staff delivering the Nightlight Mental Health Crisis Service, taking part in a rota covering 7 days per week, ensuring the delivery of quality crisis support services and instilling Hertfordshire Mind Network’s values throughout the crisis cafe and helpline provision. Working closely with other staff (bank staff, volunteers), coordinators, team leaders and Crisis manager to ensure services are of the highest quality and support the continued growth and development of the service.

By honouring the individual experience of each service user, we are able to respect their autonomy as well as encourage and facilitate positive steps towards management of crisis and recovery.

Whilst experience is advantageous, the most important thing to us and the people we support is having the right values, skills and commitment to delivering high quality, person centred mental health crisis support.

One25 is a Bristol charity for women moving from crisis and trauma towards independence in the community. It is a highly respected charity working with some of the most marginalised women to help them to heal and thrive.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about working in the voluntary sector. You will be a team player who is proactive, an excellent communicator, analytical and organised with good attention to detail. The main responsibility of this role is to provide practical and administrative support to One25’s fundraising and communications team to ensure the smooth running of our supporter programme. There will be many opportunities for learning and development. You will be our in-house database champion and play a key part in developing this critical tool for our success. You will work closely with all members of our innovative and dynamic team across every aspect of our work including communications (especially social media) and donor, community and events fundraising.

Hours: Both part-time (30 hours) and part-time (22.5 hours) considered. Working hours to fall over 3 – 5 days, Monday to Friday (including occasional evening and weekend commitments). The Rapid Intervention team, will be providing vital outreach support to individuals who are currently rough sleeping across Westminster. The team will work with the objective of supporting those rough sleeping to find a suitable and sustainable route away from the street.

Our belief is that rough sleeping is an intrinsically harmful and dangerous activity both for the individual and for the wider community. Therefore, we take a proactive and assertive approach to supporting people away from this activity. Our aim is to support people to recover from the effects of rough sleeping and move away from a street lifestyle permanently.

• Working as an Outreach Worker you will work with people to assess their needs and deliver a person centred support, as well as working in partnership with multi-disciplinary teams and agencies across the city to meet client’s individual needs.

• It’s not always an easy job, but the opportunity to work with different people every day, helping individuals experiencing homelessness and the local community end the harms of rough sleeping can be highly rewarding.

You will work on a weekly shift rota to ensure we are available to support people experiencing homelessness when they need us the most.

About you

About the role:

This role is based at Accrington. Once your probation period is completed you will be eligible to apply for hybrid working. All travel costs to and from appointments from your office base will be reimbursed.

As a Domestic Abuse Caseworker, you will be:

• Focusing on victims of domestic abuse and will provide a pro-active, short to medium term crisis intervention service, through individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support
• This will include supporting victims either face to face or over the telephone to assist them in accessing services to keep them and their family safe. It will involve developing individual safety plans to meet client's needs as identified in the needs and risk assessment.
• You will provide advocacy, emotional and practical support and information to victims including
• exploration of legal and civil options, housing, health and finance and support clients through the criminal justice system.
• You will participate fully in multi-agency meetings by being the voice of the client and follow up actions agreed in meetings keeping the client's safety at the forefront of proceedings.

You will need to:

• Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
• Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
• Understand Safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues
• Have theoretical, practical and procedural knowledge of civil and criminal justice remedies for victims of domestic abuse and their children
• Experience of working within a multi-agency and legislative framework
• Experience of managing a complex caseload, to prioritise work and deal with competing demands demonstrating an organised and methodical approach to work
• Have strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations
• Have excellent communication, negotiation and advisory skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals
• Demonstrate the ability to use IT applications competently including, Microsoft Word, Excel etc. and Case Management systems in order to keep accurate records and monitoring your performance.
• This role involves regular travel and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement.
