Homeless Link is the national membership charity for frontline homeless agencies in England. Our Topping Mill Service provides stable transition accommodation and support, to people over the age of 18, for up to five years. Our supported living accommodation provides person-centred support, based on their recovery journey. This will enable users to move onto housing within the community. Topping Mill consists of 14 self-contained flats, along with a shared lounge on both the ground and first floor. 

This position requires some flexibility around working patterns to meet the needs of the service. Working hours are primarily Monday to Friday, with some evening weekend work if required.

Essential Skills and Experience Required:

At Yorkshire Cancer Community, our vision is for everyone affected by cancer to have the best support possible. We are a patient-led charity, with a dedicated team of volunteers and staff who are passionate about helping anyone affected by cancer.

Working in partnership with West Yorkshire & Harrogate Cancer Alliance (WYHCA), we aim to help reduce cancer rates through our Cancer SMART project, which raises awareness of the signs and symptoms of cancer, so people are better informed, attend screening and know where to go for help.

Our Patient VIEW project is dedicated to representing the voices of patients, carers and service users, ensuring they are central to decision-making processes within cancer care.

We provide impartial and independent information and listen to those affected by cancer to ensure that they are supported.  We signpost to other charities and support groups, share information, recruit for research studies and share stories via our monthly newsletter.

As manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring we reach our goals, by building relationships with other charities, organisations and diverse groups, recruiting volunteers, working with our board of trustees, working in partnership with the WYHCA, and line management of our two staff members  – Patient VIEW coordinator (FT) and administrator (PT).

My Life Films is an award-winning charity that uses film and TV to enrich and support the lives of people living with dementia and their carers. My Life TV is our specialist on-demand streaming service, specifically designed to meet the cognitive needs of people living with dementia, for use within care settings and at home.

My Life Films is seeking a Finance Manager to ensure the organisation is compliant with all statutory and regulatory requirements with regards to the main charity and its subsidiary. The post-holder is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective management of the organisation’s finances, including accurate reporting and maintenance and development of financial systems and processes that are fit for purpose.

You will have plenty of autonomy to manage your workload and diary, and to succeed in this role you will need to be a self-starter with plenty of enthusiasm and drive. You will be part of a small, dynamic team, who work very collaboratively and supportively.

Key Responsibilities – include but not limited to
 • Ensure that appropriate financial policies and procedures are in place to deliver effective financial management to guide the organisation’s financial decision making
• Complete and submit information to Companies House and the Charity Commission as required by statutory regulations and requirements
• Maintain appropriate accounting systems, control and records, ensuring compliance with statutory and related accounting and tax regulations and requirements
• Process monthly payroll and pensions and oversee VAT and corporation tax returns by external accountants
• Maintain records to meet legal and financial requirements and sufficient to measure, monitor and evaluate financial plans in relation to both inputs and outputs of the organisation’s operations
• Provide a bookkeeping service and regular information for use by Trustees, Directors and Senior Management in planning and controlling the work of My Life Films and its subsidiary, including producing quarterly management accounts
• Manage the organisation’s relationship with bankers, external accountants, and investment and other financial advisors effectively
• Manage the relationship with the insurers, ensuring that the company has the appropriate insurance policies in place
• Oversee the statutory annual financial statements and reports prepared by external accountants, complete annual reporting on a timely basis and manage the annual independent examination and audit process
• Ensure the security and confidential storage of all financial and legal documents
• Attend and contribute to internal meetings, training sessions, external events and Board Meetings as required

About the Role
We're looking for an experienced, confident, and highly proactive Office Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day running of our office and support the wider team. This is a role for an independent thinker; we want someone who sees what needs doing and just gets on with it.

You'll be the go-to person for keeping everything ticking over; managing relationships, handling facilities, supporting CEO and Honorary Officers, and jumping into a range of administration and support tasks. You’ll need to be comfortable using current IT systems and able to work across multiple platforms with minimal supervision.

The Office Manager is responsible for the smooth running of the office and providing comprehensive administrative and operational support to ensure the charity meets its strategic and day-to-day goals. As part of a small team, the Office Manager plays a pivotal role in coordinating key functions such as HR administration, H&S matters, finance support, governance, facilities, and stakeholder communications.
