Herts Young Homeless is an independent charity and has been supporting vulnerable people in Hertfordshire since 1998. We are professional, passionate, collaborative and supportive charity that provides guidance to everyone who is in need of support.

Herts Young Homeless (hyh) are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic youth engagement worker to join our charity. hyh's strategic aim is to 'Be More Youth Led' and this role is crucial in supporting that commitment. The right candidate will be fun, open-minded, tech savvy and enjoy working using their own initiative. They will be passionate about youth engagement and motivated to translate youth ideas into actionable plans for the charity.

This role will facilitate a variety of fun and meaningful engagement opportunities for young people to have a voice on decisions that affect them. The successful candidate will create open, safe and inclusive spaces for young people, to enable them to form and express their voice on issues that are important to them and to hyh. The youth engagement worker will have the opportunity to inform, develop and grow our youth engagement offer; if successful this may lead to professional development opportunities such as line management of volunteers and staff.

What can you bring to the team?

• Co-facilitate annual ‘Youth Summits’; consulting young people from across the county on issues related to the charity/youth homelessness.
• Launch and facilitate a youth advisory board (online and in person). Act as an advocate to deliver key youth board messages to our leadership team and board.
• Co-ordinate work experience and apprenticeship opportunities for young people.
• Organise and co-facilitate social events for our young people.
• Support our young housemates in completing ASDAN qualifications.
• Support the content of our digital communication to young people.
• Complete relevant data to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of youth engagement work.
• Ensure youth engagement and coproduction is considered at all levels of the organisation to ensure decision making is youth informed where appropriate.
• Develop new an innovative ways of involving hyh services users in shaping our services and coproducing our work.
• Ensure good ‘youth voice’ communication across all hyh services, providing updates at service team meetings.
• Co-ordinate young people’s involvement in staff recruitment, training and induction

We have an exciting opportunity to join the South East River's Trust's Finance and Operation's Team.  The team supports the organisation with a broad range of financial and administrative tasks, to ensure its smoothed running, development and growth.  The role would suit an individual with a financial background, who is approachable and organised, with excellent attention to detail, able to work on their own or as part of a team.

The role will report directly to the Finance Manager and will provide support in administering all financial controls and processing for the organisation.  The successful applicant will come from a financial background and have a strong understanding of financial principles with an accounting qualification.  They will have experience in bookkeeping, reconciling accounts as well as dealing with banking, grant applications and expenses.  Whilst this role focuses on the financial aspects of SERT, it will also play a key part in supporting with the set up of IT equipment, new financial systems and general IT queries, with help from our external IT supplier.

To be successful, they will need to be able to multitask, have excellent communication skills and the ability to support and advise staff across all teams.  They will need to have a positive attitude, be proactive and supportive in assisting the whole team with other administrative tasks as and when required.  This role is predominantly working from home, with at least one day per week working in the office in Leatherhead.

2. Manage the ED&I Advisory Group:

• This is a unique opportunity to work with experienced and prominent senior individuals from across education and industry who are invested in driving the agenda for ED&I.
• Lead the administration and ongoing development of our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Advisory Group.
• Engage the Group to help support, advise and challenge WorldSkills UK on its actions to remove obstacles and barriers faced by young people from under-represented backgrounds in our programmes.
• Report regularly to the Group on progress against KPI’s and facilitate reports for the WorldSkills UK Board.

• Project manage delivery of the annual Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Heroes Awards, supported by relevant internal teams
  • Establish the nominations process

4. Manage strategic relationships

• Manage a portfolio of ED&I focused Strategic Partnerships with organisations from across the skills sector, facilitating their support and engagement with our EDI programmes.

• Advise and support the development of the CEO’s international activities on ED&I with WorldSkills International (WSI).

5. Raise the profile of WorldSkills UK’s ED&I work:

• Work with teams across the organisation to support our Mission to ignite a national and global movement to help more young people, regardless of their background, get the best possible start in work and life.
• Support the Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager and Marketing and Communications Team to showcase the impact of our programmes:
  • Help to externally profile and articulate the value and impact of our activities using the channels and tools available

  • Support the Corporate Partnerships team to identify and secure commercial income related to our ED&I initiatives.

• Whilst not responsible for WorldSkills UK’s internal ED&I activities and agenda it is anticipated that the post holder will spend up to 10% of their time supporting and working with the Corporate Affairs team on internal ED&I matters, with the remaining 90% spent on external work.

This role is office based (as above) but with flexible hybrid working. It is expected the postholder will attend the office at least once or twice a week.

The Diocesan Safeguarding Team supports parishes and senior clergy to safeguard children and adults who may be at risk of abuse and neglect, and those in abusive relationships.

As a vital part of the safeguarding team, the Training Administrator supports the department through a variety of tasks from the booking and administration of safeguarding training courses run by the Diocese and content management for the training webpages through to the maintenance of the personal safeguarding training record database.

Main Duties And Responsibilities

Training

• In conjunction with the Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser, facilitate a safeguarding learning and development programme for the diocese aligned with the national church Learning and Development Framework, Church Safeguarding Standards, reflecting the specific safeguarding responsibilities of those in role.
• To administer all lay and clergy safeguarding training run by the Diocese in line with above, in approximately 80 sessions a year.  This includes: producing a deadlines document; administers the sessions on Zoom / Teams, posting courses on Eventbrite and operating as content manager for publicity on the Diocesan website.
• To administer bookings for training courses; copy course materials and respond to emails and queries on training matters, ensure compliance of work submission required before and after courses. 
• Log entry of all course participants onto a database to ensure each person has a personal safeguarding training record, and each parish has a safeguarding training profile.

General Administrative 

• Work with IT and Information and Data Manager position to produce reports for the Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser on safeguarding training issues and trends, and annual statistics represented in charts and graphs for inclusion in the annual safeguarding review. 
• Produce quarterly reports on training compliance for Archdeacons and the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisory Panel meetings. 
• Helping to organise and minute meetings when the safeguarding administrator is not available/on leave.
• Support the safeguarding team with other tasks and projects as identified by the Safeguarding Administrator or Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser.

SENIOR YOUTH AND COMMUNITY WORKER

LOCATION: ENACT, 52 ISLAND CENTRE WAY, ENFIELD, EN3 6GS

Enact have a vacancy for a Senior Youth and Community Worker to lead our open-access community youth provision.  We are looking for an experienced youth practitioner to manage our youth team and work within the enact team to develop a range of engaging activities and training opportunities for young people with particular focus on those aged 10 to 19 in the Enfield community. 

The Senior Youth and Community Worker needs to be a passionate, enthusiastic and professional. They will lead the youth team to create community-based opportunities for the whole family, in accordance with the ethos and values of Oasis. The Senior Youth worker will also support the enact team to develop and be involved in community cohesion projects involving children, families and youth.

Enact actively encourages continued professional development and opportunities for further education for all its staff.

Salary:  £27500 to £30,000 FTE

Job Purpose:

• Contribute to hyh’s overall Fundraising strategy as a member of the Fundraising Team
• Have day to day responsibility for the Individual Giving income stream
• Manage a portfolio of existing Individual Giving supporters, providing exceptional supporter care and building relationships, stewarding and nurturing existing donors.
• Improve supporter retention and maximise donors’ lifetime value to hyh
• Manage, develop and lead on the use of hyh’s CRM effectively to segment data and make insight-led decisions. This includes developing new reports, liaising with the external CRM consultant to make improvements, writing up procedures and training members of the team in best practice.
• Acquire and develop new donors through solicitation and stewardship plans using a supporter journey programme to build engagement and loyalty.
• Develop marketing and comms materials through digital and other channels to deliver the programme.
• Maximise all opportunities to develop regular giving, appeals, one-off occasion donations, in-mem and legacy

Skills:

• Excellent communicator in formal and informal communications, both verbally and in writing, to all stakeholders
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and communicate sensitively; negotiating effectively to generate support among people from diverse backgrounds and all levels
