Responsibilities
· Create a safe and accepting psychologically informed environment for vulnerable residents, whilst following safeguarding measures.
· Develop the recovery hub, embedding the “Rethink Recovery Toolkit”
· Deliver quality training, advising staff and residents on substance misuse and assist on the admin side of negotiations and conferences.
· Line manage a small number of staff
· Attend service user and care programme approach review meetings.
· Create trusting relationships with residents, motivating and empowering them to take next steps.
· Interview new referrals and recovery workers, ensuring your project meets their needs, and assessing physical and mental health for interventions.
· Develop links and effectively communicate with internal and external partners / connected organisations, providing covering when necessary.
· Organise peer support activities, assisting with money management following Finance policies and procedures.
· Ensure residents are assisted with managing their medication, strictly adhering to PRHA’s Medication policy.

Your role
This is a very special role to provide holistic health and wellbeing of those who visit our open drop-in at the Vineyard Community Centre in Richmond. To us, they are our guests, not 'clients', 'patients' or users'.
This will include personal health screening, and holistic health support; also to provide health education, and liaison with outside agencies and local surgery. Many of our guests have multiple and complex needs involving, mental health, drug/alcohol dependency and homelessness.
You’ll report to our Community Nursing Manager and work with our Case Worker and Caseworkers from the Glass Door charity, and external hosted partner organisations like SPEAR and C.A.B.

We’re a small charity that brings communities together to create cleaner, connected and safer urban and rural neighbourhoods by tackling the litter problems where they live. You will join a small team of housekeepers working mainly at our Community/Justice/ Counselling services. Well-managed spaces make our buildings great places to be ensuring they are efficient, secure and pleasant environments. You will work with the Soft Facilitates Manager to carry out planned cleaning duties from a schedule of works. You will also need to build in capacity for reactive cleaning as required.
A key part of the role will be to work with project managers and the Soft Facilities Manager to ensure solid housekeeping provision. You will ensure the efforts of you provide a high level of cleanliness, and cleaning complies with health and safety standards too.
You will have a usual place of work at either Katherine Price Hughes House, Highbury or Wincott Street, Lambeth as we have two Housekeeping roles available, but be required to work flexibly across the property portfolio if business needs demand this. You will facilitate end of licence/tenancy cleaning preparing these spaces for new residents, or you could be asked to provide cleans between room hire in our counselling and our community spaces. Last year we saw a 133% growth in the numbers of young people facing homelessness coming through our doors. Now, nearly half of them are - or recently have been - sleeping rough and with the numbers of young rough sleepers in the capital growing at an alarming rate, New Horizon Youth Centre has had to take decisive action to unlock support and housing for this group. The Head of Services - Rough Sleeping is a brand-new role for the organisation and will lead on developing a new internal strategy for young people facing rough sleeping, as well as holding operational oversight of our established youth-specific street outreach function and emergency accommodation hub, both of which are unique in London. You will need to be strategic in approach and an excellent relationship builder. You will act as our lead colleague on relationships with the Greater London Authority and London Councils’ rough sleeping teams, working with them to ensure our learning and insights inform policy and ultimately open up access to emergency support for those under 25. Alongside this you will need a keen eye for operational detail, have experience of delivering homelessness services, and be passionate about piloting new solutions to prevent homelessness among young people. More than anything you will need to champion what young people can achieve, be committed to collaborating with others and determined to find a way.

However, if you do not hold these qualifications you will need to undergo a chair-based exercise qualification and blood pressure training. Applicants need to be willing to undergo this training. How you will make a difference
I am a social media expert who thrives on planning, creating and delivering high quality content across Rethink Mental Illness’s and Mental Health UK’s social media channels (Twitter/X, TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and YouTube).
I disseminate our messages and information to key audiences through clear and engaging social media posts that are tailored for different networks. I monitor the performance of our posts and I am proactive in incorporating best practice to ensure that our posts are well received by our audiences, and that our presence on our social media channels grows.
I regularly collaborate with colleagues across both charities, and the other founding charities of Mental Health UK, and key partners to create compelling and inspiring content.

The role
As Community Engagement Officer you will play a key role in ensuring the Foundation achieves its objectives of engaging with and increasing physical activity levels amongst the four key priority groups facing the greatest inequalities: low socio-economic groups, women and girls, disabled people and people with long term health conditions, and culturally diverse communities. This will predominantly be achieved through the critical support you will provide to our ambitious PlayZones Programme, as we continue to roll the programme out across priority areas of the Country.
We have an ambition to deliver in excess of 200 PlayZone facilities by 2025. To realise this ambition, we’re going to focus on investing in safe, inclusive, and accessible facilities in communities with the greatest need. We will tackle inequalities in physical activity levels and create inclusive opportunities for our priority groups to become active through recreational formats of football and other sports and activities.
With a great deal to do, the role will be pivotal in working with local groups to support them through the application process, and to ensure high quality projects are being developed based on local community need.
The role sits within the Football Foundation’s Delivery Team, the team responsible for strategic identification and capital project delivery, reporting to the Community Engagement Lead and with responsibility for a portfolio of PlayZone programme areas within one of the Delivery Team geographical regions.
You will provide critical support to applicants and work extremely closely with our network of Delivery Managers & Officers to advise and agree community engagement plans for a range of Over £25k projects – helping to ensure their engagement is robust, but that applicants also receive support and guidance as required throughout the development of their application.
Community Engagement Officers will champion the benefits of great engagement, capturing good practice, identifying successful approaches, and share knowledge and learning across the Foundation and other stakeholders.
What are we looking for?
You don’t need to follow football to apply, but it is expected that you appreciate the power of sport to change lives and have a genuine interest in using your skills and experience to help the Foundation achieve our charitable and strategic objectives.
You must be educated to HND/Degree standard, or with the equivalent experience, with knowledge of how sports development can be used for community benefit. You must have strong communication and interpersonal skills with experience of communicating with and supporting a diverse range of colleagues and customers remotely.
Your knowledge of place-based working and how to best reach and engage with local communities will be key for this role, as well as your understanding of the inequalities that exist in supporting active lives across socio economic groups, women & girls, individuals with a disability or a long-term health condition, and culturally diverse communities. You will be aware of and have experience of dealing with the operations and challenges faced by community organisations, charities, and the voluntary sector.
You must be highly organised, with working knowledge of different project management techniques and experience of managing multiple projects at the same time. While not essential, experience of producing robust reports and of using dashboards to monitor the progress of projects would be useful.

We are looking for a Head of People & Culture to lead the Foundation’s People Team and be a key part of the directorate Leadership Team. Working with the Chief People Officer, the role provides strategic leadership to their team in embedding a business partnering approach and working across the employee lifecycle with the aim of maximising employee engagement through proactive and expert management of employee relations supported by effective and proportionate people processes. The role is responsible for leading the People Team to drive people management initiatives; support the Foundation’s Strategy and deliver a strategic plan to achieve this; and, promote the Foundation’s values, shaping a positive culture.
Key Responsbilities
Embedding Business Partnering
• Oversee and coach the People Team (and to personally deliver where required) on an effective business partnering approach, including:
• Developing a thorough understanding of the Foundation and relevant business areas and their strategic plans.
• Building effective relationships with leadership teams of designated business areas to provide insights into people management strategies.
• Developing plans and implement tailored people management interventions to support business areas to achieve their strategic aims.
• Working with business leads to identify skills and capabilities needed currently and in the future and proactively working with the Talent Management Hub to ensure that talent is acquired, developed and managed so that emerging and planned people and business needs are responded to.
• Using data and other metrics to identify trends and monitor progress.
• Ensure that the People Team proactively work with their business areas to manage staff and implement early and effective interventions to prevent employee relations issues escalating unnecessarily.
People Operations
• Work across the employee lifecycle to develop a best-in-class employee experience.
• Ensure that all relevant aspects of the employment relationship are informed by policies and processes which are fit for purpose, comply with legislation, reflect best practice and support the Foundation’s strategy and culture development.
• Contribute to the Charity’s strategic approach to DEI (working with the DEI Lead) and work to actively embed practices which promote diversity, equity and inclusion across the Charity’s approach to people and HR processes.
• Ensure that pay and reward processes and effectively designed and managed to provide value for money, attract the right candidates and is motivational for employees. Ensure this is reviewed with external and internal benchmarking on a regular basis.
• Ensure that the Foundation’s pension scheme is managed effectively, including administering regular reviews. • Lead on the ongoing measurement of employee engagement through in- depth and pulse employee opinion surveys and action planning activities; ensuring that plans are implemented and progress monitored.
Advice and Support
• Advise the Leadership Team on HR policy and other HR matters.
• Coach the People Team to and personally case manage complex employee relations cases, including tribunals - liaising with line managers, the Chief People Officer, and relevant legal advisors to make sure that the Charity’s reputation and interests are protected at all times.
• Act as a point of contact for employees to discuss confidential matters or grievances. Systems and processes
• Oversee the People Team to ensure that the capability of all People technology solutions is maximised, including the use of automation and that all new systems are effectively implemented and maintained
• Ensure that all administrative processes are designed to be robust and accurate with the aim of supporting management processes; providing a positive employee experience; and, for the production of management information.
• Ensure that effective systems, checks and balances are in place for the accurate and timely processing of payroll and pensions each month.
• Ensure the collation of good quality data across all activities and develop metrics and evaluation processes to measure effectiveness.
• Draft ad hoc and routine reports in relation to the People & Culture strategy.
• Responsible for the development and delivery of the People Team management information and corresponding dashboards
