We are seeking for an Events and Community Officer (Ecosystem) in the Enterprise Hub team.
The role
As Events and Community Officer, you will be working in the Enterprise Hub team. The Royal Academy of Engineering Enterprise Hub supports talented entrepreneurs and decision makers to transform breakthrough engineering innovations into disruptive spinouts, startups and scaleups.
Our entrepreneurs benefit from the prestigious national and global network of the Academy’s Fellows and experts. We have delivered 10 years of success, enabling our members to form a powerful, thriving, and supportive community of over 350 innovators. We run four programmes at multiple stages, from ideation to scaleup, for entrepreneurial engineers at different career points. Thanks to our charitable status, we don’t take equity, fees or IP.
The role will be to support, curate and deliver opportunities for a community of UK’s brightest engineering and technology entrepreneurs and business leaders (startups and scale-ups) to enable them to advance their entrepreneurial journeys and to provide them with opportunities to flourish. In joining the Enterprise Hub, the individual will work to support delivery of an ambitious programme of community engagement activities including monthly ecosystem meetups in London, developing new activities for our co-working space and for our communities, supporting our regional teams with the development (and possible delivery) of events, and helping to strengthen our alumni support.

We are seeking an outstanding individual to join us as an Events and Community Officer as part of the Enterprise Hub Ecosystem team. The ideal candidate will be excited about taking the initiative, bringing new ideas to the table, and developing this area of work for the Enterprise Hub. Being able to build strong rapport with stakeholders in the ecosystem will be key to enable success in this role, so strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and attention to detail are all important attributes we are looking for.

Location
Our light, spacious head office is based in a fantastic location in central London with views over St James’s Park and close to the West End. About you
This role is based with our Wales & Southwest team, and we are looking for someone with particular experience and developed networks across this region. Our successful Enterprise Manager may previously have worked in roles such as Partnerships Manager, Development Manager, Fundraising Manager, Partnerships & Fundraising Manager, and will ideally have good knowledge and confidence in identifying and successfully bidding for project funding via government departments, regional agencies, statutory funders, and charitable trusts. Prior experience of statutory funded active travel schemes is desirable.
Technical:
- A proven track record of developing and writing successful funding bids.
- Knowledge of funding environments, including lottery distributors, key statutory funders, trusts and foundations, charitable trusts.
- Experience of strategic relationship, partnership development and management.
- Innovation and creativity, to develop projects from concept to delivery and to match trust priorities with funding.
- Budget and project management experience with the ability to manage financial risk.
- Experience of financial reporting
General:
- Ability to influence, persuade and negotiation skills.

Job Purpose
This role sits within our Adult Services, across Hammersmith, Fulham, Ealing, Hounslow. You will be responsible for the operational delivery and service development, of a portfolio of services. Namely (but subject to change):
- Safe Space Community
- Safe Space ED
- Hounslow Helpline
- Nova Roots (Forensic Community Hub)
One large service you will be responsible for is our crisis alternative service – Safe Space - which is a tri-borough out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. The service operates 365 days a year from 12:00(midday) – 11:30pm across all of our boroughs. You will be responsible for managing peripatetic teams: we currently have 3 in person Safe Spaces and based in 3 A&E.
Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone on a one-to-one or group basis to individuals experiencing mental health crisis.
The objectives of the service include:
- To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health crisis in HFEH.
- To provide support to clients accessing the service- for instance: signposting, de-escalation, planned wellbeing activities etc.
- To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
- To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
- To treat service users with respect, dignity and personalised support
- To raise awareness of mental health services available with the goal to improve long term mental health and reduce social isolation
- To increase self-management skills of those accessing the service
- To reduce the use of police, ambulance and statutory mental health services whilst experiencing crisis.
- To reduce the use of statutory crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health without positive outcomes for the individual.
The Role
The role of the Crisis Alternative Service Manager will provide operational management, mobilisation and service development of all Crisis Services within Adult Services. The ideal candidate will have experience of mobilising and developing high quality, large services. In addition to managing and supporting staff working within challenging environments and experience of working with challenging behaviour and complex needs. The Service Manager will hold all operational risk.
Excellent organisation and decision-making skills are essential for this role, as it requires being able to manage time effectively to meet tight deadlines and work unsupervised during evenings and weekends. You will also be required to be rostered into the on-call rota.
The Crisis Alternative Service Manager will be required to work collaboratively with the Director of Adult Services and will be proficient at communicating effectively with staff at all levels, a wide range of key stakeholders and service users. They will ensure the service is well resourced from a staffing perspective and embed high-quality operational plans and processes.
They will be responsible for the delivery, progression and continual improvement of the service. They will have responsibility for ensuring Crisis Services operate in line with organisational H&S processes and procedures, HFEH Mind policies and CQC requirements.

Summary of Role
Working under the direction of our Centre Managers at Arc in the Park and Abbey Hub, Support Workers are key to
ensuring the successful delivery of our provision for children and young people. Working with children and young
people in group settings, the role will support the delivery of our play and youth projects and activities to aid their
development.
Responsibilities
● Providing for the social, personal, educational and leisure needs of children and young people by assisting in
the running, organisation and delivery of particular projects.
● Establishing positive relationships with all children and young people supporting and enabling them to
increase their confidence and realise their potential, fully integrating them into all project activities.
● Coordinating resources and to develop opportunities for children and young people which reflects their
particular needs and circumstances.
● Facilitating the active involvement of the children and young people in the planning and development of the
project programme.
● Facilitating the positive integration of children and young people with behavioural difficulties and/or
additional needs within the project.
● Supporting and guiding volunteers, trainees and junior leaders in all of the above, as required.
● Working as a member of the AAA team to ensure the safety and well-being of the children and young people
being supervised including day to day 'housekeeping' of the site and maintenance of equipment.
● Liaising with parents, carers and other organisations and professionals as required.
● Adapting activities to meet a child's/young person’s needs as appropriate.

As an Area Manager you will give leadership, direction and guidance to the staff of Medaille Trust to ensure the provision and development of a high quality service in line with the Trust’s Mission, Values and Strategy.
You will have a good understanding of the CQC framework relating to Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking. You will carry out quarterly assurance audits in all safe houses ensuring any appropriate action is taken where necessary.
You will line manage, induct, mentor, coach and support Service Managers. Additionally, you will ensure that any complaints, grievances and disciplinaries are investigated and responded to in an effective and timely manner in line with Medaille Policies.
Although the post is home based, the post holder will be expected to travel frequently to our safe houses within the South and London areas with some overnight stays.
You must have previous experience in a relevant sector or experience of working with adults that are vulnerable. Experience of managing staff, carrying out line management, supervision and appraisals is essential. Additionally, you must have experience of setting up Service User Engagement groups.

Reporting to the Head of Environment and Climate action, the Environmental Management and Compliance manager role will be responsible for the Trust’s Environmental Management System and its associated policies, commitments, and standards, linked to the Trusts evolving sustainability and organisational strategies. The role will require establishing good relationships with other teams in the Trust to drive sound environmental practice from our operations and 3rd party activities.
Knowledge, Skills/Qualifications & Experience
Key Accountabilities:
- Responsible for, and day-to-day management of the Trust’s environmental management system
- Deliver a programme of activities and updates to environmental standards, guidance and tools, ensuring that these are delivered on time and within budget. This forms part of a system refresh that will be delivered this financial year.
- Work with internal technical experts and the Trust’s legal team to ensure that the standards meet regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with Trust operational and delivery teams to ensure that standards are deliverable and align with existing and emerging business processes.
- Manage external technical input where requires (e.g. from consultants)
- Assist in the investigation of environmental incidents, near misses and ensure the production and dissemination of key learnings
- Preparation of board and Environmental Advisory Group (EAG) papers and acts as secretariat of EAG meetings
- Producing case studies and other examples of best practice for internal and external audiences
- Developing and delivering environmental training
- Displaying the Trust values and behaviours at all times.
- Ensuring that diversity and inclusion are integrated into all aspects of Trust life and promoting inclusion by challenging behaviour, practices, actions, or decisions that are counter to the objectives of the Trust’s policies and values.
Knowledge, Experience & Skills:
- IEMA Practitioner qualification or equivalent
- Experience of administering environmental management systems, including a good understanding of ISO14000 family of environmental standards.
- Authoring company standards and guidance
- Broad understanding of key environmental themes and associated legislation (Air Quality, Biodiversity, Water Quality, Waste, Pollution Prevention and Control, Invasive Species)
- Experience of investigating environmental incidents and near misses
- Working knowledge of GIS and using spatial data to support environmental strategies
- Project/ programme management skills
- Developing reporting systems and managing environmental data to report progress

The role will be home-based, with the expectation to attend main regional hubs either at Milton Keynes, Birmingham, or Little Venice (Paddington), for collaborative working. This is a national role, requiring collaboration with teams in all six of the Trust’s regions. There will be an expectation that the successful candidate will be able travel to attend meetings or fieldwork throughout the regional waterway network.

These, and other events, will help raise vital funds as well as networking and new business development opportunities.

The Role
As a Project Lead for the ASB team you will be:
- Managing a small team of ASB caseworkers including performance management, monitoring and support
- Responsible for allocating cases within the team and analysing statistics and data in order to monitor daily caseloads against resources and look for trends/ pattern of behaviour
- Working with the Operations Manager to ensure delivery of the business plan and associated outcomes

- Contributing to and attending monitoring meetings with funders/commissioners and providing reporting when required
- Playing a lead role in developing VS’s ASB work at both local and national levels
- When the service requires, holding a small caseload providing high quality support to service users in line with VS policies and operating procedures.
The role is home-based within Devon and Cornwall and therefore is open to applicants who both live in this area and have access to an appropriately confidential space in which to work. Regular travel within working hours will be expected across Devon and Cornwall to fulfil the role and travel expenses are paid.
