It’s an exciting time to join Victim Support, as we prepare to begin delivery of the Witness Service from April 2026. We look forward to welcoming current Witness Service staff and volunteers to Victim Support — and we’re also now beginning recruitment for several new roles and to fill vacant positions.
The Witness Service provides free, independent support to any witness giving evidence in criminal courts in England and Wales — both for the prosecution and the defence.
Our trained staff and volunteers help people understand what to expect before, during and after a trial, and offer practical and emotional support every step of the way, so witnesses can give their best evidence.
The Witness Service also supports bereaved family members, and friends and family who are accompanying witnesses in court.
This is an exceptional opportunity to help us ensure a smooth transition and shape a high-quality, high-impact and trauma-informed service — so every witness feels informed, supported and more confident in court.
Witness Service Outreach Volunteers provide support to witnesses when they are attending court, as well as pre-trial and post-trial helping them to feel safe and informed. You will provide support to both prosecution and defence witnesses.

What do we ask of you?
In order to join us as a Witness Service Volunteer, you must:
Be 18 years of age or over.
Be able to volunteer for at least 1 day per week, for at least 12 months.
Undertake training – this includes virtual training days as well as completing online learning modules.
Undertake an Enhanced DBS with Child Barred List check & be part of the DBS Update Service.
Be able to provide two satisfactory references.
Have an active email address that you are comfortable using in order to engage with VS communications.

Our volunteer supervisors help with overseeing the running of our shop and creating a fantastic environment for our customers. You may be involved with coordinating and supporting other volunteers, operating computer systems, and being a key point of contact for the shop.

URBAN YOUTH NEEDS A LOGISTICS & OPERATIONS LEADER

URBAN YOUTH is a brand‑new, high‑energy youth work charity built for the streets, the estates, the parks, and the places where young people actually live their lives. We’re a start‑up with big ambition and even bigger heart, and right now, we need someone who can help us get moving ASAP.
We’re looking for a Logistics & Operations Leader who can take charge of the practical side of our mission: the scouting, the planning, the organising, the behind‑the‑scenes magic that makes our street‑level work possible.

THE ROLE: LOGISTICS & OPERATIONS LEADER (VOLUNTEER)
You’ll be the engine behind our activities, the person who ensures our drops, events, outreach sessions, and community activities are safe, smooth, and successful.
You’ll lead on:
Scouting locations for drops, outreach, and events
Planning logistics for activities across different neighbourhoods
Coordinating equipment, supplies, and transport
Supporting the team on the ground during youth sessions
Ensuring safety, organisation, and smooth operations
Helping us build systems and processes as a start‑up charity
This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role where your work directly shapes how we show up for young people.

Inspired by a sister whose world had become small, isolated, and painfully quiet, Bright Connections was created to bring light back into the lives of disabled people who often feel forgotten. Many rely on others for daily care, yet still lack the one thing every human needs: friendship.

What You’ll Lead
Developing a fun, vibrant, empowering brand personality that reflects our joyful mission.
Creating engaging content across social media, newsletters, and our website.
Building a communications strategy that grows awareness, trust, and excitement.
Designing campaigns that celebrate disabled people, amplify lived experience, and inspire community involvement.
Crafting stories that show the power of friendship, connection, and belonging.
Supporting the development of a consistent visual and verbal identity alongside our design volunteers.
