Leukaemia UK – Our Charity

We are a ‘small but mighty’ charity with one big ambition: to stop leukaemia devastating lives. Over the next 10 years we want to help save and improve the lives of more people with leukaemia through finding and funding life-changing research, awareness and advocacy.

Despite progress in recent decades, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a blood cancer every 16 minutes and survival rates are among some of the worst of any cancer.  And the physical and psychological impact can be lifelong.

Leukaemia UK and You 

We are looking for a talented Research Manager with prior experience of managing research grant funding activities, ideally within a medical research charity or research funding organisation. Our processes and systems are in place, making this an ideal well-structured role for someone to develop into. This is a part-time role and we welcome applications from individuals looking for flexibility, both in hours and hybrid working.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about research and its potential to improve our understanding of leukaemia, develop more effective, kinder treatments and patient care for leukaemia. At WeSwim, we support disabled adults to swim in welcoming, inclusive volunteer run clubs across London. For many of our swimmers, the water offers a new freedom, easing pain, building confidence, and opening up new ways to move and connect.

We’re now looking for a Cubs and Community coordinator to help keep our swim sessions running smoothly and our community growing well.

This role is about people, organisation and care. You’ll coordinate weekly swim sessions, support swimmers throughout their journey with WeSwim, and make sure the behind-the-scenes admin is handled accurately and calmly. You’ll play an important role in welcoming new swimmers into our community,  building relationships with other third-sector organisations, managing waiting lists, and helping ensure our clubs remain active and well-attended.

You’ll get to know our swimmers as individuals ensuring that we can continue to create an experience where people feel supported and welcomed. No two weeks will look the same, but every week will be full of purpose.

This is a part-time role (15 hours per week), ideal for someone who is highly organised, people-focused and motivated by inclusion, community and impact. You don’t need to be a swimmer but you do need to care creating inclusive spaces where people can thrive.

Every session you support helps people who struggle to access mainstream swim sessions to exercise,to feel more confident and benefit from the WeSwim community. 

Key Responsibilities:

Club Operations & Coordination

• Coordinate weekly swim sessions, including booking swimmers and liaising with pool partners.

• Act as the main day-to-day contact for clubs, supporting swimmers, volunteers and committee members.

• Spot and resolve operational issues, escalating where needed.

Swimmer Membership & Support

• Manage swimmer onboarding from application to first session.

• Monitor swimmer attendance and respond to queries or concerns.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date swimmer information.

Swimmer Recruitment & Outreach

• Build relationships with third-sector organisations to support referrals and recruit new swimmers.

• Undertake outreach to maintain a healthy flow of new swimmers into WeSwim clubs.

• Manage swimmer waiting lists and support smooth onboarding into sessions.

Administration, Data & Monitoring

• Maintain club records, including membership data and attendance logs.

• Monitor attendance and impact data to support reporting.

• Use systems and tools to keep club administration efficient and organised.

Communication & Relationships

• Communicate clearly with swimmers, volunteers and committees via email, WhatsApp and other channels.

• Liaise with external partners such as pool staff and local stakeholders.

About This Job

You will provide effective administrative support to the Office Manager and the wider team to ensure the smooth running of the two charities, the Army Cadet Charitable Trust UK (ACCT UK) and the Combined Cadet Force Association (CCFA). You will support across a range of tasks including administration, office management, supporting on our insurance provision as well as meetings and event support.

A cheerful, can-do attitude is essential, as is the ability to work well with a diverse range of staff based in the head office and across the UK. ACCT UK is a national youth charity dedicated to improving the life chances of young people. The Combined Cadet Force Association (CCFA) is a charity dedicated to the promotion of the ideals and activities of the Combined Cadet Force in schools. Together we want to ensure that every young person has the opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence and be inspired through their cadet experience.

Futures For All is the largest social mobility charity in the UK. We help to level the playing field between state and independent schools by giving all young people access to the same prestigious networks available to the top fee-paying schools. 

We believe that by inspiring young people to explore their ambitions through our speaker programme, facilitating access to multi-day experiences of the world of work, and supporting young people to successfully seize opportunities available to them, then we can make a profound difference to the lives of young people, their future happiness and prosperity. 

By 2028, our ambition is that every young person in the UK has access to high quality work experience. Yet today, less than half of young people leave secondary school having had any work experience whatsoever.

Role Summary:

Whilst Futures For All has been fundraising for all of our 15 year history, we are now at a point in which increasing voluntary income and diversifying our charitable income streams is vital to the charity’s long-term success.  The new role of Director of Fundraising took up management of the team in 2024, and is now in the process of building a bigger and brighter team to support increasing income over the next few years.

The Senior Fundraising Manager – Trust and Philanthropy will play a pivotal role in raising funds from grantmaking trusts and HNWIs (philanthropists) towards the work of Futures For All.  They will go beyond simply writing applications and reports, to build relationships with prospects and donors, ensuring that each are guided through the solicitation cycle towards maximising their grant to the charity.  They will work closely with colleagues, volunteers and leadership to ensure each prospect/donor is engaged appropriately and accurate information is provided in a timely manner.  They will also support the overall function of the Fundraising team, supporting other forms of fundraising. They will build relationships with prospects and donors, ensuring that each are guided through the solicitation cycle towards making major donations. 

Futures for All (formerly Speakers for Schools) seeks an individual with experience working with high-value supporters and strong relationship-building skills to become our new Senior Fundraising Manager – Trust and Philanthropy.  With an exceptional network of senior stakeholders and volunteers, the potential for growth in fundraising is great.

As the UK’s leading social mobility charity, we’re on a mission to help state-educated students nationwide to reach their potential by providing work experience placements and inspirational talks. 

If you’re an enthusiastic, self-motivated, team-player with experience of major donor fundraising, then this is the role for you.  You’d join the team at a time of progression, with a new, focussed plan for the organisation targeting growth in our work experience and inspirational school talks. For this to be successful, we need to grow and diversify our income, particularly from grants and gifts, and are growing the fundraising team from 3.5 to 5+ members to support this increase.

Your role as Senior Fundraising Manager will be to help identify, cultivate, ask and steward philanthropists and grantmaking trusts, working with the Director of Fundraising, Fundraising team, wider colleagues and volunteers to ensure they are solicited to the highest possible standards. The team will support you and there’ll be training on offer to help you succeed.

Key Duties / Responsibilities

Strategic Purpose

• Fundraising from grantmaking trusts and foundations – build and maintain a pipeline of trust prospects and donors with potential to give £10k+ per annum.
• Fundraising from major donor individuals – building relationships with prospects and donors leading to gifts of £5k or more.
• Collaboration – working with colleagues, Ambassadors and Trustees to engage potential supporters, attend events and solicit donations.
• Proposals and reports – develop and deliver accurate and inspiring fundraising applications and reports meeting and surpassing donor and prospect expectations.

Engagement

• Stewardship – work closely with the Donor Relations Manager to ensure all trust donors are stewarded effectively.
• Collaborate with staff, volunteers and leadership – ensuring you have an expert knowledge of the work of Speakers for Schools and can communicate it passionately and accurately to prospects and donors.

Delivery

• Events – utilise and support fundraising events to create a culture of giving and fundraising within Futures For All. Working alongside the Events Co-ordinator to identify attendees and shape engagement events.
• Data and reporting – ensure information on donors is correctly recorded in Salesforce, and supporting KPI and other reports created by the Director of Fundraising.
• Other duties – supporting the work of the Fundraising team and wider organisation as required.

Experience of making the direct asks for funds from prospective donors.

Community Rail Network is a national not-for-profit organisation supporting a growing ‘community rail’ movement, which helps communities get the most from their railways, promotes sustainable and inclusive travel, coordinates volunteering and place-making, and brings people together.

Community rail is made up of 76 community-based partnership organisations, and c.1,300 station friends volunteer groups and other community-led initiatives around Britain. Their activities range from creative projects for young people, to advising train operators on service improvements, to building travel confidence among marginalised groups, to biodiversity projects at stations, to promoting greener tourism by rail.

Our enthusiastic team of 24 works from home in different locations, but we come together regularly in person and online. We work collaboratively to support our members, provide training, events and resources, run campaigns, and champion community rail and its insights. We believe in developing our team and helping everyone reach their potential while having a good work-life balance.

About this role 

This role is crucial for us, our members and their communities, especially at the current time, with our need to seize on the opportunities of rail reform and devolution, promote wider use of sustainable transport, and bring communities together. You will spearhead our external affairs strategy and plans, building political relationships, influencing decision-making and raising awareness of community rail and its insights, while ensuring effective communications with our members and helping them to have a voice locally and regionally. You’ll be striving to put community rail at the forefront of a shift towards more inclusive and sustainable mobility.

As a member of our senior leadership team, reporting to and working closely with our chief executive, you will manage a passionate team of four, ensuring collaboration with our other teams, partners and funders, and drawing on members’ insights.

 
Main responsibilities 

• Lead the review, development and delivery of our communications, policy and insights strategy, working to position the community rail movement effectively, use its insights to influence policy change, and ensure our members are well-informed and have a voice; 

• Further strengthen our advisory and influencing work with national, devolved and regional government, transport bodies, parliamentarians and other decision-makers, especially around rail reform, transport devolution and integrated, inclusive, sustainable transport; 

• Ensure we’re engaging effectively with policy developments and opportunities, taking forward a programme of relationship-building, and identifying and engaging in relevant consultations, events and speaking opportunities, enabling community rail’s insights and experiences to be shared; 

• Collaborate with partners in rail, government and the third sector to feed in our expertise on community engagement with rail, amplify our campaigns, and build opportunities for joined-up communications and policy work;

• Continually develop and disseminate our evidence base and insights on the social, environmental and economic value community rail delivers, and opportunities to create greater benefits for communities from rail and transport; 

• Oversee high-quality, coherent and inspiring communications with our members and partners, promoting our work, and sharing news, opportunities, and good practice across the movement; 

• Manage production of high-quality resources, case studies and reports that our members can use to enhance their impact and which showcase community rail’s impact; 

• Lead and develop our media relations and awareness-raising PR, championing community rail and its messages on sustainable, inclusive travel and communities at national and regional level, while supporting members on local PR; 

• Develop our online presence and reach, making full use of our website, social media, our Scenic Rail Britain campaign, and partners’ channels to celebrate and position community rail and grow its reach and impact; 

• Oversee a calendar of creative and impactful campaigns that involve and empower our members, creating PR and engagement opportunities, including Community Rail Week;

• Play a key role in collective leadership, strategic focus and organisational development as a member of our senior leadership team, including through internal communications and cross-team working, annual planning, funder liaison and reporting, upholding our strategies and policies, and pursuing opportunities for continuous improvement. 

 
Skills and competencies 

1. Strong leadership and management skills, including experience managing, developing and drawing on a multi-faceted team delivering complex campaigns or projects, and budget management;

Other information

As you will be home-based, we are flexible about your location. However, you will be expected to travel to in-person full team meetings quarterly (usually in West Yorkshire), and you will need to bring your team together (currently all West Yorkshire based) with similar regularity in between. Attendance at in-person events and meetings is also important. We therefore welcome applications from those with decent public transport links, not too far from a railway station, to enable journeys to be made sustainably.   

This is a full-time position, 37 hours per week. We use a flexi-time system with core hours 10am-3pm, and are committed to being a flexible, supportive and understanding employer. This is a permanent position with a probationary period of six months.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the Ri’s YouTube channels, developing a deep knowledge of YouTube’s platforms and algorithm, scheduling video content to maximising channel growth, audience engagement and video revenue through YouTube monetisation
• Manage the Ri’s YouTube membership programme, posting regular member updates, monitoring churn, and generally developing the product to provide a consistent and growing income stream

‘To exist for the benefit of all women and their children who have /or are experiencing physical, mental financial or sexual abuse in their relationships and to offer support, information, advice, access to temporary accommodation and aftercare’.

Job Summary

To support the aims and principles of Aylesbury Women’s Aid including empowering and supporting women and their children in making their own decisions and taking control of their own lives and to meet the practical and emotional needs of the women who live in the refuge through support, advocacy and advice.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. To help women settle into the refuge and create situations where women can be supported, share their experiences and explore the choices open to them. 

2. Taking key-worker responsibility for 3 women by:

· Following all interview and admittance procedures with each resident interview

· Developing a Support and Action Plan with each resident

· Developing a Risk Assessment Management Plan when necessary

· Continuing to support key clients by regularly reviewing Support and Risk Assessment Plans.

· Offering some general support on a day-to-day basis.

· To continually update in-house data base.

3. To support and respond to the needs of the residents by:

· Providing legal, housing and welfare rights advice

· Providing advocacy and liaison with other agencies such as housing departments, solicitors, courts, social services etc.

· Providing information about local agencies and community resources

· Supporting residents to register and make claims for benefits or other rights.

· Ensuring that residents pay their rent and service charges

4. To take referrals from local women and find refuge space for women who need to move from the area and make referrals when appropriate.

5. To work within child protection requirements and procedures to ensure that children safeguarded and their welfare promoted whilst also supporting and meeting the needs of women.

6. To provide support and assistance to women moving on to new accommodation including:

· Ensuring all relevant forms are completed and giving advice on grants and second hand-furnishings. 

· Providing transport when necessary.

· Assisting with initial household problems.

· Establishing any further needs and offering continued support.

7. To participate in creating an atmosphere in the refuge which will enable families to live together by encouraging women and children to respect each other and by attending and participating in regular house meetings.

8. To carry out extra agreed tasks to ensure the smooth running of the refuge which could include:

• Updating Routes to Support
• Attending and taking notes for house meetings
• Collecting, distributing and recording post
• Emergency First Aider for the refuge
• Ensuring that the First Aid Box is correctly and adequately stocked
• Facilitating Freedom Programme in the refuge
• Keeping bed space books up to date

9. To liaise with relevant local agencies and community groups to ensure productive and collaborative working and attend relevant meetings as required.

About Sister System 

Founded in 2018, Sister System is a charitable organisation and an Open College Network (OCN) approved centre dedicated to empowering girls and young women aged 13-24 affected by the care system.   

Our approach is co-designed with care-affected young women to ensure that their lived experiences continue to drive meaningful change and shape our progression. Through a strong sense of community, peer networks, and trusted adult relationships, we create clear pathways into education, employment, and socio-economic stability, supporting a life free from abuse.

Throughout her journey with Sister System, each girl participates in weekly one-to-one and group sessions focused on self-education and personal growth. These sessions explore the social and emotional transition to womanhood while building a supportive network of “sisters” who continue to empower one another during key life transitions. Our programmes are accessible to girls and young women at any stage of educational attainment, enabling all Sis-Stars to learn, grow, and thrive.  

Our Programmes  

All our programmes have been co-curated with young women in care and are built upon proven therapeutic models of intervention. We deliver a set of inclusive, empowering, enabling, and exploratory programmes. These focus on self-education, investigating the social and emotional impact of the transition to womanhood and creating a network of sisters who can continue to support each other's growth throughout key transitional periods. Our programmes are delivered in such a way that sisters at any stage of educational attainment can access, learn, grow, and thrive.  

Job Purpose 

Sister System is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Programmes to lead the operational delivery and continuous improvement of our mentoring, learning, and development programmes for care-affected girls and young women aged 13–24. The postholder will oversee the full programme cycle — from referral and assessment through to delivery, evaluation, and progression — ensuring all work is trauma-informed, evidence-based, and aligned with Sister System’s mission and OCN accreditation standards. Acting as the central link between the leadership team and delivery staff, the Head of Programmes will manage and develop a high-performing team, maintain quality assurance across all programme stages, and foster strong partnerships with schools, local authorities, and community organisations to drive measurable impact and long-term systemic change.  

This role holds operational oversight of all programme delivery, team management, and quality assurance, ensuring that our work achieves its intended outcomes, aligns with our organisational strategy, and continues to grow in impact and reach.  

Key Responsibilities  

Programme Leadership and Delivery  

• Lead the design, coordination, and delivery of all Sister System programmes, services, and activities in line with organisational aims and funder requirements.  

• Oversee programme planning, scheduling, and annual mapping to ensure smooth delivery and strategic alignment across all three stages (Enable, Enhance, Empower).  

• Work with the Safeguarding Lead to manage referral, assessment, and placement processes to ensure beneficiaries are appropriately matched to programmes and mentors, maintaining high standards of transparency and accountability throughout.

Programme Quality and Impact  

• Oversee programme quality assurance, including risk assessment of referrals, benchmarking, and monitoring of Development & Progress reports.  

• Work with the Internal Quality Assurer to ensure delivery meets agreed quality standards.  

• Maintain oversight of portfolios of work produced by learners and mentors towards their qualifications, in collaboration with the Learning & Development Lead and EET Progression Lead.
