The Role

In this role, you will lead on the delivery of the safeguarding learning pathways across the Diocese, in line with Church of England policies and procedures. You will support clergy, lay leaders, staff, and volunteers to meet safeguarding requirements and embed best practice across the organisation.

You will also support the Head of Safeguarding in providing advice on safeguarding learning policies, maintain strong relationships with local and national safeguarding networks, and ensure training materials remain up to date with legislation, policy changes, and emerging best practice.

This is a varied and rewarding role with the opportunity to influence culture change across the Diocese, delivering high-quality safeguarding training to over 1,400 participants each year and supporting a network of volunteer trainers.

About You

We are looking for a confident and experienced trainer with a passion for safeguarding and learning.

You will have:

• Proven experience in leading and delivering effective training programmes.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
• Experience of working with multi-professional agencies and the ability to analyse complex safeguarding issues.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan, monitor, and evaluate training provision.

You will also need to be able to travel independently across the Diocese and work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends.

You do not need to be a practising Christian to work with us – around half of our staff are not – but all our colleagues are comfortable with the Christian ethos that underpins our work and share a desire to make a difference.

The Jon Egging Trust are seeking a highly motivated individual with experience of working with young people, to plan and deliver inspiring teamwork, leadership and employability programmes in Hampshire (Mainly within an hours of Portsmouth). The role involves liaising with school staff, local partners (including the Military and local businesses) and volunteers to ensure programmes meet the needs of our young people and is supported by the Regional Manager, Hampshire and Dorset. You will be joining a fantastically motivated and committed team of workers who are all passionate about improving the lives of young people through our specialist youth programmes.  

The successful candidate will be based from home with a requirement to travel to partner schools and business sites in and around Hampshire (mainly within an hour of Portsmouth). Fuel expenses are paid and travel time is included as part of working hours. Working with secondary schools to provide early support programmes, core delivery time is usually within the school working day and during school terms only. All other working hours can be managed with flexibility by the post holder to ensure that all administrative tasks are completed as required.

Key responsibilities we will entrust you with:

Membership applications and compliance programme

• Deliver administrative tasks in the compliance programme and application process, including scheduling calls, sourcing and maintaining evaluator records of competence & conflict of interest
• Coordinate the application process for aspiring members, pre-assess completeness of applications, and provide process guidance and support throughout their application journey
• Coordinate independent external member evaluations and act as main point of contact, responding to enquiries
• Maintain and update the Salesforce Compliance portal (platform used to manage evaluations)
• Record and track data across various platforms, updating logs and content on the ISEAL website
• Coordinate information and produce reports / minutes in support of programme management, the ISEAL Membership Committee and strategic development of the compliance programme
• Contribute to systematic measurement and improvement of the compliance programme

 Services and member prospecting

• Act as the first point of contact and respond to enquiries about ISEAL, services and membership
• Schedule and co-lead prospect calls, taking notes and supporting follow up actions
• Support to develop and maintain effective relationships with members and prospect members, as well as key stakeholders related to the compliance programme
• Use and continually improve record-keeping systems, tracking customer relationships on Salesforce and support member/customer prospecting processes
• Coordinate customer relationships related to the ISEAL Insight subscription package, including recruiting new customers and supporting existing relationships, tracking payments, and coordinating delivery of content
• Support delivery of ISEAL’s training courses, including coordinating promotions, registrations and event logistics

Experience, Knowledge and Attribute

Working alongside the Discipleship Team and colleagues within the Evangelism & Growth Team, you will be developing and communicating with networks around the Methodist Church’s biblically- and theologically coherent vision and strategy for multi-generational Methodist discipleship. As part of this, an important aspect of the role will be supporting the development of a coherent discipleship pathway across different age groups within families and children at home, which will be sensitive to key transitional development stages across generations and life experiences. You will be working with circuits and local churches as well as in partnership with external organisations; in addition, you will be and active part of the development and delivery of key events such as 3Generate.

About You

We are looking for someone who wants to make a positive contribution to the work of the development and delivery of the Discipleship stream outlined in Methodist Church’s evangelism and growth strategy – part of the Church’s commitment to be a growing, inclusive, evangelistic, and justice-seeking Church.

You will preferably have experience in training and project management, and it is essential that you are experienced in children, family and youth ministry. We are recruiting two Trainee Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners to join our Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Team at YMCA East Surrey.

Trainee Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners (CWPs) will be expected to integrate into YMCA East Surrey’s Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health (EWMH) team and to support all early intervention work. You will assess and deliver (under supervision), outcome focused, evidence-based interventions to children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.   

This Trainee Children's Wellbeing Practitioner role includes completion of the Child Wellbeing Practice Postgraduate or Graduate level Diploma run by the University of 

Sussex, which follows the nationally agreed curriculum to qualify as a Children's Wellbeing Practitioner.

The post holder must have experience of working with children, young people and families with multiple and/or complex needs and hold a minimum qualification equivalent to a NVQ Level 3 in a relevant field. In addition, the successful candidate must hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.

For the Level 6 (Graduate Diploma) the minimum level would be 3 x A-levels with grades of AAB - BBB (BBC if meet the criteria for contextual offer), or an equivalent qualification such as NVQ level 3 or above, or equivalent experience (and proven ability to work at graduate level). Evidence of experience of working with children and young people.

For the Level 7 (Post-graduate Diploma) the minimum requirement is a Graduate Degree at 2:2, NVQ level 6 or above in Health Care or equivalent experience (and proven ability to work at post-graduate level) 

Working Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday 9am to 5pm. Includes attendance at the University of Sussex 2 days per week from January to October.

 

Location: Tadworth, but working across various locations in East Surrey and attendance at the University of Sussex.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

· Working in partnership to support children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties

· To develop plans for successful intervention and agreed outcomes.

· To support and empower children, young people and families to make informed choices about the intervention.

· To always operate from an inclusive values base, which recognises and respects diversity.

· To accept referrals within agreed national and local protocols.

· To undertake accurate assessment of risk to self and others.

· To adhere to the service referral protocols. Under supervision, signpost unsuitable referrals to the relevant service as necessary.

· Through close case management and supervision, escalate cases where the level of need becomes beyond scope

· Provide a range of information and support for evidence based psychological treatments, primarily guided self-help.

· Attend multi-disciplinary meetings relating to referrals or CYP in treatment, where appropriate.

· Keep coherent records of all activity in line with service protocols and use these records and outcome data to inform decision making.

· Attend and fulfil all the requirements of the training element of the post including practical, academic and practice-based assessments.

· As well as attendance at the University for training, fulfil private study requirements to enhance learning and prepare assignments for examination - recommendation is 150 hours of study for each of the 8 modules, which includes the teaching days.

· Assess and integrate issues relating to transitions, education and training/employment into the overall therapeutic process.

As Bishop's Office Administrator, you'll play a key role in a fast-paced, supportive environment, delivering high standards of administrative support. This varied role requires discretion, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

You'll be the first point of contact for visitors and phone enquiries, reflecting the welcoming nature of the office. You'll also support the Bishop's hospitality plans, including coordinating meetings with internal and external guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive administrative support and data processing to the Bishop of Derby.
• Assist with diary management, correspondence, and office coordination.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure efficient workflow within the office.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Person Specification

• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general office equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Previous experience in an administrative role is essential

Key Requirements

• Proven administrative expertise through experience and CPD evidence.
• Willingness to occasionally work evenings and weekends, with time off in lieu (TOIL) provided for any additional hours worked

Your Salary

• A salary of £24,837 (FTE) per annum and pro-rated if working part-time, plus age-related pension contributions between 8-15% of salary. We will also match any pension contributions you make up to an additional 3% of your salary.
