We're looking for a very capable Finance Manager to join us. This is a varied and rewarding finance role at the heart of a small, friendly and ambitious charity working to improve the lives of people with eczema. Please see the recruitment pack for more information, including full job description.

To be successful, you'lll need to be proactive and enjoy working in a small team. The role involves a high degree of delegated responsibility and autonomy, and you're expected to manage your workload effectively within your functional remit.

The post-holder is responsible for managing the day-to-day running of the Society’s finance and CRM operations, including the National Eczema Society membership scheme. This is a full-time sole-charge role, managing the processing side of charity’s finance function, including managing purchase and sales ledgers, preparing payment runs, managing supplier reconciliations and month-end tasks.

You would join our small team based at the charity’s offices near London Bridge. There is flexibility for some home-based working and you are expected to work in the office at least two days a week to facilitate effective team-working. National Eczema Society offers help for staff studying for accounting exams.

At National Eczema Society (NES) we are passionate about making life better for people with eczema in the UK and their families. In the UK, around 1 in 5 children and 1 in 10 adults live with eczema, so lots of people are looking to our charity for support and hope.

Our mission is to empower people to live well with eczema and bring about positive change for our eczema community. We do this by providing expert information and advice needed to manage eczema well. We also create a healthier future by raising awareness and understanding of eczema, campaigning to improve medical care, and supporting research into new treatments, prevention and ultimately a cure.

We rely on voluntary donations, legacies, membership fees and corporate sponsorship to fund our vital work. Managing the charity’s finance operations well is vital to our organisational effectiveness and our Finance & CRM Manager is a core member of the team. National Eczema Society is a membership charity and we have around 2,000 members.

Job Purpose

We are looking for a talented, dynamic, and professional Engagement Manager to join our team in Dumfries and Galloway, working specifically in the West of the region. The right candidate would be someone who can work flexibly and demonstrate an understanding and total commitment to our organisational values. 

As our Engagement Manager, you will directly support people aged 16+ who may have complex and challenging barriers to securing a positive pathway.  This will include barrier identification and removal, supporting pre volunteering activity as well as volunteering placements in their local area. 

You will identify, develop, and manage partnerships with charitable and not-for-profit organisations across the West of Dumfries and Galloway, building an effective presence within the third sector locally.  You will create diverse, high-quality, structured volunteering opportunities with charity partner organisations, ensuring that volunteering roles reflect the needs and interests of those we support. You will also support the creation of strong referral pathways into our service, and beyond it, building on a knowledge of existing provision

• Engaging directly with people to understand their wants, needs and aspirations and determine the best opportunity for each person, and provide the support they need in advance of volunteering.

• Developing and maintaining good relationships with referral partners such as The Council, DWP, SDS etc to ensure a steady stream of referrals are received.

• Identifying, creating and developing relationships with new charity partners or agencies to provide bespoke and tailored volunteering opportunities.  These opportunities will support the individuals supported to gain experience, confidence and support them on route to a positive destination.

• Supporting with funding applications and opportunities

• Researching and engaging with partners to provide required coverage of placement sector.

• Managing the risk assessment, quality assurance and audit processes as appropriate.

• Ensuring monitoring, impact and evaluation information and data is collected and that the project meets it’s agreed targets, reporting format and schedule.  Assist the Delivery Leader by preparing reports to funders.

• Ensuring all the above is done with excellent record keeping, in accordance with compliance requirements.

• Promoting and representing Volunteering Matters and across Dumfries and Galloway.

• Contributing to the wider Volunteering Matters staff teams, upholding our values at all times.

We are recruiting for Service Manager who is passionate about supporting survivors who are impacted by domestic abuse and other gender-based crimes.  This is a multifaceted, fast paced, and exciting role where you will join our team in Hounslow & Hillingdon to lead on the delivery and development of high-quality refuge services for survivors of domestic abuse and other gender-based crimes. Our service provision in Hounslow & Hillingdon includes number of refuges supporting survivors and their children.

The post holder will provide line management and support to the accommodation based services staff. This will include providing supervision on complex and high-risk cases, overseeing operational emergencies, and ensuring high standards of casework. You will also ensure that all service users in refuges always receive a high-quality support service in line with Refuge’s policies and procedures.

The Service Manager will lead on the delivery of the multiagency aspect of work, working jointly with the Refuge teams and wider stakeholders to deliver best services to the survivors.

Candidates must have proven experience of providing direct emotional and practical support to vulnerable people, managing, and motivating staff, managing casework as well as working within multiagency setting.  In addition, you must have an excellent knowledge of domestic abuse and other gender-based violence and its impact on survivors.  

You will have knowledge of relevant Criminal and Civil law legislation, as well as Housing and Health and Safety legislation.   

As member of the management team, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call management service.

The service manager will be responsible for ensuring that contractual and other funding requirements are met fully, this includes ensuring that the services operate within the allocated budget and that Refuge’s high-quality standards are maintained. The role may involve visiting potential sites and contributing to the establishment of new services in conjunction with the development team.

Our work across Newcastle
Volunteering Matters play a vital role supporting volunteering in Newcastle. Since 2005, we have been operating Volunteer Centre Newcastle (VCN). This service provides a wide range of support around all things volunteering to 1250+ charities, organisations, and groups locally. Each year, we also support 2500+ members of the public who are interested in volunteering and need support to get started. We also lead the Home from Hospital and Community Support project where volunteers support older people with their transition home following a hospital admission. 

In early 2025, we launched the Good Neighbours Newcastle project funded by Newcastle City Council. We deliver this project alongside our delivery partner organisation, Search Newcastle, with a second partner organisation scheduled to join in early 2026.

Good Neighbours project
We would all like to live in a place that has a sense of community, where people look out for their neighbours. The Good Neighbours project aims to foster a feeling of positive wellbeing and independence for those who may be socially isolated, or who don’t have many people around them, giving that “little bit of help”.

The project helps people in the community feel safe, supported, and more able to live an independent life, whilst preventing, reducing and delaying the need for formal support through Adult Social Care. It also provides people the opportunity to volunteer a little time, in a flexible way, to make a difference in their own community. We know volunteering can lead to enhanced skills, and positive wellbeing. Volunteers provide practical or social support, completing “one-off’ or short-term tasks, supporting a neighbour.  This includes tasks like collecting essentials, driving someone to a GP appointment, helping with odd jobs around the house, light gardening, or checking in with someone for a cuppa and chat. 

Role Purpose
We are looking for a talented, dynamic, and professional Project Manager to join our team in Newcastle.  The right candidate would be someone with excellent knowledge of “best practice” in Volunteer Management and with experience of establishing new and exciting volunteering programmes.

This is a senior role within our Newcastle team so it is essential that the postholder is agile, can work flexibly, is an excellent communicator, and can build strong working relationships with a range of people. 

In this role, you will:

• Lead and manage all aspects of the Good Neighbours project, meeting ambitious goals, ensuring all volunteers and beneficiaries achieve positive outcomes
   
• Lead and manage our partnerships on a day-to-day level with Search Newcastle and another local charity, to raise the profile of the project, ensuring successful delivery and ongoing development of the work

Job Description

You’ll join the Research Management and Impact team, part of Marie Curie’s Research and Policy Directorate. As the UK’s largest charitable funder of palliative and end-of-life care research, we manage a diverse portfolio of grants, centres, and commissioned projects. Our team also leads on measuring, communicating, and maximising the impact of funded research – ensuring it drives real-world change in care and policy.

As Research Manager, you will oversee a portfolio of research grants from application through to delivery, supporting researchers and ensuring effective management of funding. You will also play a vital role in tracking and demonstrating the impact of Marie Curie’s research, helping to evidence the difference it makes for patients, carers, and services. Your expertise will directly contribute to building a stronger evidence base and closing gaps in palliative and end-of-life care.

Your Impact:

• Manage pre- and post-award research funding processes, including applications, reviews, contracts, and reporting.
• Act as the main point of contact for funded researchers, linking them with Marie Curie colleagues across policy and services.
• Overseeing financial management of research grants, audits, and reporting.
• Lead on the annual Researchfish impact data collection and monitor policy impact using tools such as Overton.
• Produce case studies, reports, and metrics to evidence and communicate research impact.
• Support organisation of research events, including the Marie Curie Research into Practice Conference.

Key Criteria:

• Experience in research management at a charitable or government funder, university, or NHS organisation.
• Knowledge of UK health and/or social science research sectors.
• Strong financial management skills and experience.
• Proven ability to analyse data, produce clear reports, and communicate complex information.
• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Relevant degree or higher level qualification (or equivalent knowledge/experience).
• Interest in palliative and end-of-life care.

About the Role

As Service Manager you will oversee a group of supported accommodation services across Lambeth, Twickenham and Greenwich. The service supports young people aged 16 to 25, including those at risk of homelessness and unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people.

You will manage five properties and lead a team of Progression Coaches, Night Progression Coaches, a Senior Coach, a Floating Support Worker, an Apprentice and volunteers. You will be at the frontline of our work, working with key partners, young people and other stakeholders to make an impact. Your key contributions

Programme

· Leading RF’s transformative programme including graduate schemes such as mentoring and the Youth Board

· Attending all drop-in sessions/holiday activities to be a consistent, trusted presence for young people. Term time drop ins take place Wednesdays 5-7pm. Holiday drop-in sessions take place at different times. (Evening and occasional weekend work will be time taken back in lieu)

Outreach

· Driving RF’s Outreach strategy in order to build and enhance visibility and recognition of RF and connect with young people who could benefit from our support

· Managing referral partner relationships across London (including schools, hospitals, young carer services and others), nurturing existing relationships and building new partnerships

· Organising events that inspire referrals to RF including delivering school assemblies, presenting at meetings and taking other external visits as required
