Job Title: Digital and Website Officer

Location: Hybrid (split between home-working and either London, Cardiff or Edinburgh)

*This role sits within a pay grade with a pay range of £26,887 to £42,371. The salary on appointment will be set at the lower end of the pay range, to a maximum of £34,629 depending on the candidate's skills and experience. This approach aims to ensure fair compensation for new hires while maintaining alignment with the structured pay scale for the role.

Context and purpose of role

We are looking for a Digital and Website Officer to join our Campaigns and Communications Team. The role holder will take a leading role in digital marketing, optimising our website using a data-led approach, and maintaining our digital asset management system.

Working with colleagues across the Supporter Engagement & Experience division and the wider business, they will also contribute to the development and delivery of marketing activities that deliver against brand and income targets.

They will work to upskill people across the organisation – including volunteers - to achieve greater impact with digital communications.

Key responsibilities

• Website – act as the GB web admin, working in partnership with the Digital Technical team to manage user journeys and ensure content is high quality and search engine optimised in line with the website strategy.

• Digital marketing – Create and implement digital marketing activity in line with the agreed digital strategy and against agreed return on investment targets. Create and implement digital marketing plans to support advocacy and marketing initiatives for our programmes using relevant digital channels for the target audience

• Content development – source / develop content and assets such as case studies, videos, blogs and images to drive engagement across digital channels including the Ramblers app. Ensure all content is of high quality, permissioned and easy for colleagues to find within the digital asset management system.

• Insight– undertake regular reporting and apply data insights to shape content, campaign and creative outputs, applying a test and learn approach.
   
• Campaigning - Support policy and public affairs, to influence and deliver messaging to local or national agencies to maintain and improve access to the outdoors for all.

• Fundraising - Support fundraising with business development and income generation through developing and responding to opportunities that meet the aims of the Ramblers and achieve income targets. 

• Volunteering - Foster a positive and inclusive volunteer experience, promoting alignment with our values and ensuring volunteers have the necessary resources, training, and ongoing support to effectively contribute to our work

Knowledge and Experience

Marketing - multi-channel marketing experience incl website,digital advertising (Meta, Google (PPC, Display), Google grant) & social media

Digital – experience of managing a range of digital channels including developing and managing a complex website set up, working with a CMS, SEO copy development and Google Analytics set up and management. Knowledge of improving user experience and engagement on owned channels

Branding –understanding of the importance of branding to ensure that everything we do across our comms and our activities helps build the brand

Insights – a curious mind that allows you to develop and apply data and audience insights to strengthen performance

Legal - a broad understanding of copyright and data protection laws.

Skills and Leadership

People – able to build good relationships with others and them develop their digital skills.

Systems - experience of using Drupal, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Salesforce, DAM (desirable but not essential)

NDAS provides support to all victims who have been the subject of domestic abuse/violence, supports them through the criminal justice system and offers relevant advice and assistance, both practical and emotional. 

NDAS empowers victims to make decisions, increase their options, their confidence and safety.  Prevention and awareness raising activities are also delivered across Northumberland and counselling to the children of our service users.

Purpose of the job

The Finance and Funding Manager has two key functions; financial management, to ensure all financial operations are conducted in line with NDAS policies, charitable governance, and in accordance with HMRC requirements, and fundraising to ensure the financial sustainability of the organisation.

Across both main functions the Finance and Funding Manager will work closely with the CEO and SMT.  Also attending Finance Sub-Group meetings that report into the Board.

Responsibilities:

Finance

· Work with the CEO to produce draft budgets with projected income and expenditure for consideration by the Finance Sub-Group and to be reported to the Board

· Work with the CEO to manage the allocation of costs across the budget and to ensure delivery in line with funding requirements.

· Checking all incoming invoices, preparing payments and process day-to-day financial transactions on Sage 50 Accounts

· Conduct monthly bank reconciliations; investigating and correcting discrepancies and reporting to CEO.

· Maintaining and monitoring investment accounts within the Flagstone account as agreed with the CEO and Finance Group.

· Administer payroll (BrightPay) including statutory payments (SSP, SMP, etc)

· Administering the workplace pension scheme (auto enrolment) ensuring compliance with pensions legislation

· Assist the organisation’s accountant with the preparation of annual accounts

· Continually reviewing and improving the systems in place.

Finance Group and Board of Trustees

· Produce monthly summary finance report and full management accounts for the Finance Group and the Board.

· Preparation of a bi-monthly finance power point report for the trustees

Fundraising

· Identify new funding streams from Trusts, Statutory agencies and corporates, and submit funding bids.

· With the CEO produce and maintain an Income Generation Plan with a timeline setting deadlines for the submission of funding applications

· Work with the SMT to manage and monitor all outcomes associated with each funding stream

· Produce funding applications with informative narrative content and robust data

• Maintain a monitoring schedule and produce reports in line with funder/stakeholder requirements also with informative narrative content and robust data
• Maintain regular communication with funders and potential funders to build strong working relationships and increase funding opportunities

· Support the CEO in developing strategic and operational plans for the organisation

· Assist the CEO and Trustees in developing the Business Plan and keep it updated.

· Monitor and collate other outcomes and achievements of the organisation.

· Attend the SMT and Team Meetings (as needed).

Thrombosis UK is a small but impactful health charity focused on raising awareness, funding research, and supporting education around venous thromboembolism (VTE). Trauma Treatment International (TTI) is a registered charity in the UK. We focus on providing evidence-based psychological treatment and support to victims of collective violence around the world. As well as providing treatment for victims directly, we work with organisations and communities to manage, mitigate and prevent the impact of trauma.

This is an exciting time for the charity, as we move into our next phase of development. We are now seeking a new Chief Executive Officer to lead us in the implementation of our Strategy 2025-2030 and our vision for change.

This is a remote working role, with attendance at events or locations as required throughout the year. • Engage continuously with donors and funders to build strong relationships and seek new and diverse funding and investment partnerships. 

Key experience and attributes you will need to bring:

• Minimum six years’ experience at senior leadership/management level, ideally gained in non-profit organisation or other humanitarian setting.
•  Some prior experience of interacting with a Board of Directors.
• Experience of financial compliance including demonstrable experience of actively setting and managing budgets, preparing cashflow projections and working with financial reports – this experience is likely to have been gained over at least 3 years’ active, first-hand participation.
• Prior experience of working in a growth environment, ideally having gained involvement in income generation/fundraising.
• Experience working with external funders, partners, and collaborators
• Demonstrate clear understanding of Charity Code and governance obligations including Charity Commission requirements and charity law.
• Possess and demonstrate strong leadership experience and ability to lead with a coaching / mentoring/ trauma-informed style in order to maintain organisational culture, valuing the people of the organisation.

The Role
As CEO, you will work in partnership with the Board to finalise and own our new five-year business plan, ensuring its successful delivery. Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Co-create, implement and evaluate the new five-year strategy, business plan and budgets.

Person Specification

Essential

• Graduate or equivalent vocational qualification.
• At least 10 years’ senior-management experience in a comparable organisation (charity, social enterprise or commercial).
• Proven track record of income generation across varied channels.
• Experience of strategic planning, budget management and regulatory compliance (Charity Commission, SORP).
• Strong leadership skills: able to inspire small teams and foster collaborative partnerships.
• Excellent communicator, both orally and in writing; adept at presenting complex issues succinctly.
• Financially literate: able to interpret spreadsheets, set forecasts and manage risk.

Desirable

• Experience in the home-improvement, construction or retail sectors.
• Familiarity with mental-health or preventative-welfare work.
• Background in formal collaborations/joint ventures.

We're looking for a passionate, values-driven CEO to guide our charity into its next inspiring chapter. 

The Coalition registered as a charity in December 2023. We have spent the last 18 months developing the infrastructure of the organisation so we can meet the Charity Commission requirements. We developed a short strategic plan for a 2 year period to ensure we had all of the foundations in place to capitalise on our new charity status. This strategic plan ends in November 2025.

The CEO will set a new five-year strategy for the organisation by building on the solid foundations of the 2 year strategic plan and maximising the opportunities that charity status provides.

The CEO will have oversight across the whole organisation, often acting as the external ‘face’ of The Coalition with our stakeholders and partners. As such, they will represent us, and enable the Disabled community to have their voices heard to achieve equality and independence for Disabled people and those with long-term health conditions.  The CEO will promote the Social Model of Disability and champion accessibility across all services in Surrey.
