About the Role

As an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor you will:

• provide a pro-active, high quality, frontline service to victims of domestic violence and abuse aged 18 and above
• make initial contact with victims of crime, explaining our services and assessing the impact of crime, or receive referrals from colleagues
• carry out on-going risk assessment, individual safety planning & offer advocacy and practical support.
• make proactive contact, providing high quality advocacy & support in line with service user needs
• attend relevant meetings & forums providing feedback to the wider team
• build relationships with local organisations to raise the profile of the service.

• Experience of safeguarding, working with complex needs and completing risk management and safety planning is desirable.

About the Role

As an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will provide pro-active, high quality, frontline service to victims of domestic abuse through on-going risk assessment, providing individual safety planning, trauma-informed support, guidance, information, and advocacy and enabling victim/survivors to access the services they need in the aftermath of the abuse and trauma they have experienced.

You may work within a Hospital Trust's Safeguarding Team to support both patients and staff in an Acute Hospital setting, who have experienced Domestic Abuse. Job Title: Duty Independent Gender Violence Advocate (Duty IGVA)

Location: The Gaia Centre (Lambeth, London)

Hours: 30 hours per week. As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota. Operating hours of the service 8am- 6pm Monday- Friday with the expectation to work on some days 8- 4pm or 10- 6pm to cover duty shifts.

We are recruiting for a Duty Independent Gender Violence Advocate (IGVA) who will be working closely with survivors of domestic, and other gender-based abuse to provide high quality independent support, guidance and advice to survivors across all risk levels and their children.

In this role the Duty IGVA is a part of a busy team. The Duty IGVA will be the first point of contact for survivors who have been referred to the Gaia Centre by other professionals. The Duty IGVA also will be responsible for processing any self-referrals of individuals contacting the service and wishing to access support. The Duty IGVA will be responsible for responding to daily enquiries from partnership agencies, public and impacted individuals over the phone and email.

In some circumstances the Duty IGVA will be contacting survivors directly to assess their level of risk and needs to ensure eligibility. The Duty IGVA will be responsible for carrying out and implementing safety plans and needs assessments. The Duty IGVA will ensure an effective handover of the case to the relevant team for ongoing support.

The Duty IGVA will empower survivors by providing them with emotional, practical and personal welfare support. The Duty IGVA will ensure that survivors are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment, enabling them to access their rights, make decisions and increase their life options. The job involves working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership protocols and procedures that prioritise the safety of survivors.

The job involves informing survivors of the full range of civil, criminal and practical options that might increase their safety. The jobalso  involves working in a fast-paced environment.

You will support people of all genders affected by gender-based abuse and help shape a service built around prevention, creativity, and community voice. The ethos of the service is to ensure that we are front facing and out in the community to meet clients in spaces that are safe and accessible, as well as our offices.

The Role

We are looking for three people in total:

Our Peripatetic Team provide front-line support to Solace’s Advice, Community and Accommodation-based Services across London. Crisis Intervention Workers enable our services to deliver a consistent high standard of service.

The team was created in order to have trained, skilled staff ready to cover gaps in service and facilitate the continued smooth running of services, proactively supporting women and children who have experienced domestic abuse.  They are required to go into different teams and quickly establish themselves and provide support in times where staff teams may be struggling.

About the Role

In all services, peri workers provide nonjudgmental, confidential, and psychologically-informed support to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse. Typical tasks include risk assessment, safety planning, and working with survivors to develop individual support plans.  Other roles require house management, outreach and health and safety tasks.

Peri workers have the opportunity to work in a variety of roles across Solace’s services. Working across departments offers peri workers the ability to continually develop their knowledge, casework skills, advocacy skills, multi-agency working, and ability to manage and thrive in a changing environment.

The role will involve commuting to sites across London, and although hybrid working may be available in some projects it is not possible for all. Travel is taken into consideration when confirming placements, however you should be prepared for longer commutes.

This role in certain placements will require you to work a rota including weekend hours between 8am – 8pm.

This role is office based in Rochdale Police Station and the ideal candidate will be based 3 days per week with Victim Support and a couple of days with external agencies who deliver direct support to children.

Yellow Door is an amazing charity that is quite literally changing lives for the better across the Hampshire area, with a team of around 100 staff and volunteers, working together to prevent and respond to domestic and sexual abuse. We are looking for highly motivated individuals to provide proactive advocacy and support services to people who have experienced sexual violence/ abuse. The ISVA provides practical and emotional support to individuals who have experienced sexual violence or abuse. The role focuses on delivering trauma-informed, person-centred support that reduces distress, promotes safety, and enables informed decision-making. You will support service users to navigate complex systems, including the criminal justice process, advocate on their behalf, and ensure their voices are heard. You will also work in partnership with a range of agencies to ensure coordinated and accessible support.

We are looking for individuals who have eperience of working within an advocacy role, preferably within domestic or sexual abuse or related fields such as mental health/social care/justice roles. You will have a sound understanding of risk assessment alongside experience of managing diverse caseloads and working pro-actively within multi-agency partnerships to support victim-focused outcomes. The successful applicants will have effective communication and advocacy skills and knowledge of the impact of sexual violence/abuse.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Domestic Abuse Practitioner to join the New Era Safe Accommodation team to support victims of domestic abuse, working 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. There may be an occasional need for Saturday working with a day off in lieu. This role covers the Staffordshire area and regular travel will be required.

About the Role:

As a Domestic Abuse Practitioner you will be:

• Providing pro-active, high quality, frontline service to victims of domestic violence and abuse through on-going risk assessment, individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
• Working within a multi-agency framework with a focus of keeping victims of domestic abuse safe.
• Working with survivors and other agencies to monitor the care pathway.

You will need:

• The ability to identify and assess the risks and needs of domestic abuse victims using an evidence-based risk identification checklist.

You will work with children and young people who may not be ready for counselling, offering accessible support while guiding them through the criminal justice process and advocating on their behalf. The role also involves supporting parents and carers, ensuring the young person’s voice is heard and their needs are met.
