Last year we saw a 133% growth in the numbers of young people facing homelessness coming through our doors. Now, nearly half of them are - or recently have been - sleeping rough and with the numbers of young rough sleepers in the capital growing at an alarming rate, New Horizon Youth Centre has had to take decisive action to unlock support and housing for this group. The Head of Services - Rough Sleeping is a brand-new role for the organisation and will lead on developing a new internal strategy for young people facing rough sleeping, as well as holding operational oversight of our established youth-specific street outreach function and emergency accommodation hub, both of which are unique in London. You will need to be strategic in approach and an excellent relationship builder. You will act as our lead colleague on relationships with the Greater London Authority and London Councils’ rough sleeping teams, working with them to ensure our learning and insights inform policy and ultimately open up access to emergency support for those under 25. Alongside this you will need a keen eye for operational detail, have experience of delivering homelessness services, and be passionate about piloting new solutions to prevent homelessness among young people. About the Service
This is a pilot working as a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) with housing teams and Drug and Alcohol Services across District and Borough councils. These teams will be working with individuals who are presenting as homeless and have a number of Complex Needs.
Purpose of Post
Providing advice, information, onward referral and holistic support to clients who are experiencing mental ill health or need support with their mental wellbeing. These will be clients who are presenting to District and Borough councils as homeless and need intervention and support with their mental health and remain a source of independent support for all clients. Ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the client is monitored and reviewed regularly and that a person centred recovery orientated and trauma informed approach is embedded approach in all aspects of the roles.

- To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental ill health.
- To increase early access to help for people experiencing mental ill health in, by providing a clear and effective pathway to services provided by Herts Mind Network and other third sector and statutory providers.
- To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
- To remain a source of independent support for all clients.

Post: Rough Sleeper Outreach Worker
Reporting to: Outreach Manager
Hours per week: You will be required to work 37.5 hours a week over 5 days on which work could fall between Monday and Sunday, with a minimum of 7.5 hours per day, between 5am and 11pm.

Overall purpose of the job
Successful applicants will work as part of a developing team to provide support and assistance to referred rough sleepers and those at risk of rough sleeping, assessing needs and facilitating the uptake of homelessness provisions, engagement with specialist support services and journey to independent living. Successful applicants will engage and facilitate rough sleepers or those at risk of rough sleeping, to access basic services and accommodation, providing support along the way to address needs and promote independence.
Main Duties and Responsibilities

- Landlord Recruitment/ Retention to get people into private rented accommodation.

As a Resettlement Worker you will be supporting homeless women to gain the skills needed in order to live independently; our clients are expected to be with us for no more than 2 years and the main route into independent living will be PRS (Private Rented Sector). You will be carrying out a variety of workshops to support the clients to gain the skills needed and use our internal and external partners to help our clients get back into work or education. You will also be supporting the women to understand financial responsibilities, paying rent, bills, council tax and applying for benefits.

You will be part of a fantastic team, being one of five Resettlement Workers holding a caseload of women, with the focus on resettlement and preparing for independence.

Hours
Average 40 hours a week on a five-week rota. Normal working pattern will be working across early and late shifts & working 2 weekends out of 5. Pension

About the Service
The overall aim of the service is to increase survivor safety over time and to reduce incidents of domestic abuse through awareness raising and filling gaps in service provision, to reduce and remove harm for victim/survivors. The Floating Support Worker (FSW) supports victim/survivors of domestic abuse living in safe accommodation, at any level of risk, on a needs-led basis.
About the Role
As the FSW you will carry out risk and needs assessments, safety planning and support planning with survivors and advocate on their behalf with external agencies. You will provide ongoing casework support, including referrals to specialist advice and practical support, such as legal advice around civil and criminal remedies. You will empower survivors with information on their rights and options, demystifying complex statutory systems and dispelling myths perpetuated by perpetrators and wider society and will provide support to maintain accommodation, or to source permanent accommodation as necessary.
About You
You will have a passion for working with victim/survivors and a thorough understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on women and their children, as well as experience of providing emotional and practical support and strong casework management skills.

This is a role offered on a 3-4 month contract, on a full-time basis, based on Barking Road, London. The salary for the role is between £28,080-£32,240.
The Interim Support Worker (Employment Lead) will report to the Team Manager and be responsible for the service delivery of an effective, high-quality, person-centred support service to residents with a range of medium to high needs. The postholder will temporarily lead on developing employment, training, and education (ETE) opportunities for residents. A key element of this role is developing positive relationships with residents as well as developing partnerships with potential employers and community partners.
To be successful, you will have demonstrable experience within the local authority, voluntary, independent, charity or social housing sector. You will have experience of providing personalised advice, coaching and support to individuals facing homelessness or other forms of social exclusion. You will have an awareness of issues facing people that experience homelessness or rough sleeping. You will also have an understanding of ETE (education, training and employment).
You will have excellent customer service skills and the ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders. You will have strong IT literacy skills, especially Microsoft Office. You will be a team player who can also work on their own initiative and have strong organisational skills.

About the Service
The Refuge Service provide emergency accommodation to women and children fleeing domestic abuse and sexual violence. Refuge Case workers provide emotional and practical support this can include housing support, legal options, reporting to the police, help around child contact, benefits, financial advice and accessing therapeutic support services.
About the Role
You will provide advice and support to women who have experienced domestic abuse in a refuge setting working across two sites. You will carry out risk and needs assessments, develop support plans and carry out key work with women survivors. You should have a minimum of two years’ experience of working with this or a similar client group. An in depth understanding of the needs of women and children from a diverse background is essential.
About You
The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact on women and their children, as well as experience of providing emotional and practical support to victims of domestic and sexual violence.
You will have experience of managing risk and following case management procedures to meet the needs of the client group, and the ability to work with women to help them to understand their needs, risk assess, develop safety plan, and support them in linking with other agencies.
You will have a working knowledge of the available legal remedies, housing, and welfare benefits, as well as experience of providing workshops.
In addition to case management, you will be required to undertake housing management responsibilities including health and safety and maintenance of the refuges. You will have excellent administrative and time management skills.

Our Peripatetic Team provide front-line support to Solace’s Advice, Community and Accommodation-based Services across London. Crisis Intervention Workers enable our services to deliver a consistent, high standard of service.
The team was created in order to have trained, skilled staff ready to cover gaps in service and facilitate the continued smooth running of services, proactively supporting women and children who have experienced domestic abuse.
About the Role
The role requires providing a safe and non judgemental space to understand risk and create safety and support plans alongside our service users in order to assist them on their journey of recovery.
You will also be expected to create a supportive environment for those you line manage to reflect and improve on practise and assist them in their career goals.
As a Peri you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of roles, allowing for you to continually develop in regards to knowledge and casework, working with partner agencies in co-locations and also skills around managing change.
This role involves commuting to sites all across London and although hybrid working may be available on some projects it won’t be for all. Travel is taken into consideration when confirming placements however you should be prepared for longer commutes.
