About The Role
As Individual Giving & Supporter Care Manager at Place2Be (within a Fundraising Team of 27), you will play a significant part in the Individual Giving and Philanthropy & Special Events team, in a busy and varied role. The Individual Giving and Supporter Care team consists of the Individual & Supporter Care Manager, a Supporter Care Officer and an Income Processing Assistant, and sits alongside the Philanthropy and Special Events team under the leadership of the Deputy Director of Fundraising.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Individual Giving & Supporter Care Manager to lead the development and delivery of our Individual Giving & Supporter Care programme, to include 2-3 appeals each year, delivery of our annual supporter magazine, legacy and in-memory income, income processing and ensuring that our supporters are being looked after in the best possible way.
This role is pivotal in engaging supporters, raising vital income and enhancing our organisation’s profile through exceptional communications. You will work closely with colleagues across Fundraising, Communications, Finance and Operations to deliver strategic, creative and impactful communications that inspire and connect with our supporters and the general public. With a strong understanding of donor engagement, acquisition and retention, you will drive income growth through this programme.

MAIN PURPOSE:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Fundraising Manager to lead and grow a diverse income portfolio across multiple fundraising disciplines.
This is a leadership role responsible for contributing to and delivering a national fundraising strategy aligned to Brainkind’s organisational priorities, financial sustainability goals, and growth ambitions.
The postholder will manage and develop a small fundraising team, embed high-performance standards, and drive income generation across statutory trusts and foundations, major donors, corporate partnerships, community fundraising, events, and individual giving.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Leadership
- Contribute to, develop and deliver a multi-year fundraising strategy to achieve sustainable income growth.
- Set and manage annual income targets exceeding £500k to £1m.
- Identify new income streams aligned to Brainkind’s service model and expansion priorities.
- Work closely with senior leadership to align fundraising with operational and strategic objectives.
Income Generation (All Disciplines)
Lead and oversee income generation across:
- Trusts & Foundations – Develop compelling proposals for health, social care and rehabilitation funding.
- Corporate Partnerships – Secure and manage mutually beneficial local partnerships.
- Community & Events Fundraising – Grow supporter-led activity nationally.
- Individual Giving & Digital Campaigns – Strengthen acquisition, retention and legacy programmes.
- Statutory & Health Sector Funding (where applicable outside commissioned services).
Team Management
- Line manage, coach and develop a small fundraising team.
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture.
- Set KPIs and ensure strong pipeline management and reporting.
Relationship & Stakeholder Management
- Act as an ambassador for Brainkind externally.
- Build strong internal relationships with operations, clinical teams, finance, and communications to gather impact data and case studies.
- Work closely with marketing/communications to strengthen brand-led fundraising campaigns.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations and best practice (e.g. Fundraising Regulator, GDPR).
- Monitor ROI and cost-effectiveness across fundraising activities.
ABOUT YOU:
- Knowledge of a broad range of fundraising and charity sector activities.
- Knowledge of legal obligations for fundraising activities and all internal procedures and regulations and adherence to best practices, as defined by the organisation and Institute of Fundraising Code of Practice & Fundraising Regulator
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding fundraising income targets at £500k+ level (or comparable scale).
- Experience in managing successful campaigns, both digitally and within the community.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to analyse data and manager performance pipelines.
- Be able to research, identify and build on opportunities for fundraising initiatives.

Individual Giving is central to this mission. Working closely with the Head of Individual Giving and Legacies, this role will act as the operational lead for Individual Giving activity, translating strategic direction into effective, insight-led campaigns. The post-holder will take ownership of campaign planning and delivery across multiple channels, driving both acquisition and retention, ensuring activity is optimised for impact and return on investment.
This role will lead the implementation of integrated campaigns across digital and offline channels, including social media, search, email, direct mail and telemarketing. What you will be doing

We are seeking a proactive, strategic and donor-centred fundraiser to lead and implement our

This role blends strategic planning with “hands-on” campaign delivery. - Represent Schoolreaders at face-to-face meetings and events to raise the charity’s profile and secure individual support.
- Work alongside colleagues and volunteer County Teams to maximise local and national fundraising opportunities.
- Identify PR opportunities generated by fundraising activities and coordinate with the Comms Manager to optimise visibility and income.

Role purpose
The Senior Individual Giving Manager is responsible for driving the growth of Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis’ individual giving income through data-led acquisition, engaging fundraising campaigns and exceptional donor stewardship. This role owns the income targets and leads the strategy and execution of individual gifts, regular giving, direct mail appeals (digital and print), inmemory giving and lottery. They will coordinate direct mail campaigns and support the Operations team to deliver meaningful stewardship. Collaborating with teams across the organisation, the post holder will proactively identify opportunities to introduce fundraising asks within engagement journeys, helping convert new audiences into long-term supporters. They will ensure APF’s campaign planning and engagement pathways are designed with inclusion and lived experience at their core, while driving sustainable income growth through acquisition and retention. Combining strategic thinking with storytelling, data insight, careful planning and management of warm stewardship, you’ll ensure donors feel valued and inspired to continue supporting APF.
Key Responsibilities
1. Individual giving strategy and stewardship
- Lead and grow APF’s individual giving programme, helping to build meaningful relationships with our supporters.
- Map out and improve the donor journey from first interaction through to long-term support, increasing acquisition, retention and lifetime value.
- Track and monitor income performance, contributing insight to forecasting and helping shape realistic and ambitious targets.
- Lead on the evaluation and analysis of the Individual Giving programme by monitoring performance against objectives and using sector trends, benchmarking and competitor insights to strengthen our approach.
- Identify and address any barriers in the donor journey to improve conversion and engagement.
- Support the Operations Team to deliver consistently meaningful and timely stewardship to individuals including those giving in memory of loved ones.
2. Direct mail campaign coordination
- Coordinate direct mail appeals and renewal campaigns from planning through to delivery, developing compelling fundraising requests aligned to organisational priorities and connect supporters with APF’s impact.
- Develop campaign briefs, segmentation plans and income projections.
- Manage campaign timelines and work with external suppliers where required to ensure activity runs smoothly.
- Monitor response rates, ROI and overall income performance.
- Capture and apply learning from each campaign to continually improve and strengthen future activity.
3. Regular giving programme development
- Lead the development and growth of APF’s regular giving programme, including the lottery product, helping to build a strong and sustainable base of monthly supporters.
- Create recruitment, onboarding and retention strategies that welcome and inspire regular donors.
- Develop tailored stewardship journeys that keep monthly supporters connected to the impact of their giving.
- Monitor and track acquisition, attrition and upgrade trends to inform future growth.
- Test and refine propositions to strengthen long term income and supporter engagement.
4. Data segmentation and insight
- Lead audience segmentation across individual giving activity to ensure supporters receive relevant and meaningful communications.
- Use CRM data and behavioural insight to inform targeting and messaging and campaign planning.
- Produce regular analysis of performance sharing insights and recommendations.
- Champion a culture of testing, learning and continuous improvement across fundraising activity.
5. Acquisition through engagement pathways
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across Services, Involvement and other teams to identify opportunities to introduce appropriate fundraising requests within wider engagement journeys.
- Use a mixture of digital and direct mail acquisition techniques to attract new supporters, increasing both the number of donors and their engagement with APF.
- Support the development of workflows that that define next steps following different types of engagement and shape clear engagement pathways that support conversion from initial engagement through to appropriate fundraising opportunities.
- Ensure lived experience and inclusive practice are reflected in all design and messaging.
6. Supporter care standards and compliance

About the role
As a Senior Lead in Individual Giving, you will shape and deliver multi-channel acquisition activity, managing significant multi-million-pound media budgets and agency partnerships to recruit new supporters at scale. Our flagship Crisis at Christmas appeal is a key moment in the year, and you will use it as a springboard to attract new donors and bring them into the wider movement. With a clear focus on lifetime value, you’ll attract the right audiences and ensure our acquisition activity is both cost-effective and supporter centred. Currently our acquisition programme consists of DRTV, Digital, Door Drop, Inserts and Face to Face fundraising.
You will lead a newly formed high-performing acquisition team of five and have the opportunity to shape the team’s strategy, ways of working and approach to acquisition at Crisis. You’ll work collaboratively across departments to ensure we deliver ambitious income targets while also strengthening sustainable income streams such as regular giving, legacy, and repeat giving. This role is crucial in building a balanced, future-focused fundraising portfolio that supports our ten-year strategy and helps end homelessness for good.
As a senior leader you will work flexibly across the Individual Giving portfolio — supporting both your own campaigns and the wider team’s objectives. You’ll help allocate resource across acquisition and development as priorities shift, ensuring our collective efforts drive sustainable income growth and long-term supporter value.
You have collective responsibility with your lead peers in the expansion of year-round campaigns, Regular Giving and Legacy expressions of interest. These are our team goals, in which we all play our part.

Experience using GA4 and Google Tag Manager, as well as other native platform analytical tools for tracking, reporting and assisting optimisation.
- Proven knowledge and use of digital marketing tools, including email marketing and automation platforms (DotDigital would be advantageous).
- Demonstratable experience of developing paid social media campaign tracking and an understanding of the changing landscape in social media i.e. current Meta restrictions
