This is a newly created role with the purpose of maintaining a culture of compliance across the charity whilst ensuring we adhere to all relevant regulations and laws.

Together with the Governance Manager, you will be the key point of contact for compliance, providing advice and support to the team and ensuring we have procedures and controls in place across all areas of the charity. This will include training to ensure the team is skilled and acting consistently, as well as identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing appropriate solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote a culture of compliance and be a point of contact for all compliance and data protection queries, providing accurate advice to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Develop and maintain robust procedures and structures that give the charity the ability to fulfil our regulatory requirements.
• Ensure the charity is aware of, and is reacting to, any fundraising, data protection and other compliance regulation changes, by understanding wider implications.
• Work to maintain a culture of compliance across the charity through the development of training and guidelines that are easy to understand and accessible.
• Conduct regular internal audits to ensure that compliance procedures and policy documents are followed and fit for purpose.
• Assess data risks and complete Data Protection Impact Assessments where needed.
• Assist the Governance Manager in producing ad hoc and annual compliance reports, as well as returns to the Charity Commission and Companies House, so that EHAAT meets their legal responsibilities.
• Update the charity’s data assets file.
• Review contracts and third-party agreements prior to signing to ensure they are in line with compliance regulations.
• Ensure adherence to Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Practice through the undertaking of fundraising  standards audits.
• Provide oversight for the timely management of leases and contracts.
• Ensure necessary insurances and contracts are in place to provide required suitable cover.

This role supports the delivery of our Individual Giving programme, specifically in support of our Puppy Sponsorship Scheme. The delivery of exceptional supporter care across multiple channels lies at the heart of the Supporter Services team and forms an integral part of the Individual Giving retention strategy. In many instances, you will be the first line of enquiry either by telephone, email, social media, or letter (and occasionally face-to-face) for Hearing Dogs’ supporters.

• Present a professional, positive, and proactive approach to supporter care and adherence to best practice regarding stewardship and supporter engagement.
• Be proactive in stewardship process improvement and development, maintaining up-to-date guidance notes for areas of your work.
• Ensure all interactions with supporters are logged in the CRM system and where appropriate passed on to the relevant team(s) in a timely manner.
• Use KPIs and SLAs to track, measure, and report on performance to ensure supporter care consistently meets our high standards.  
• Process telephone, post and email enquiries/donations regarding and related to the Puppy Sponsorship Scheme, and ensure that all queries are responded to and resolved within recommended stewardship guidelines and timeframes for the team.
• Assist with maintenance of Puppy Sponsorship data on the Charity’s CRM to ensure supporter records are up-to-date and accurate, flagging any issues to the Supporter Services Manager.
• Prepare data for Puppy Sponsorship updates and build email communications.
• Assist with the production and cleaning of mailing files to support fundraising appeals, raffles, lotteries, and other products.

We need an events manager who is adept at managing projects and events, working with our fundraisers and encouraging our supporters to get involved in our events such as our annual trek, the prestigious Care Sector Ball, and all the other events we’re involved in. - Act as the first point of contact for HR queries and provide guidance to line managers.

- Lead the collation of monthly payroll data and ensure its accuracy.

- Manage HR systems and databases to process employee data in line with GDPR regulations.

- Oversee the recruitment and onboarding process, ensuring an excellent experience for candidates and hiring managers.

- Contribute to the development of Kinship's induction framework and deliver induction sessions for new joiners.

- Identify learning and development needs within the charity and create cost-effective learning plans.

- Support the development and delivery of an effective performance management framework.

- Manage an employee relations caseload and provide support and guidance to line managers.

- Contribute to the development of Kinship's EDI framework and embed EDI principles across the charity.

Skills & Experience Required:

- Demonstrable experience of supporting the development of a high-quality HR function.

- HR certification (e.g., CIPD Level 5 qualification) is essential.

- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.

- Excellent administrative and data management skills.

- Effective written and oral communication skills.

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.

- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

- Ability to work on own initiative and manage workload effectively.

- Experience of working in a dynamic and fast-changing environment is desirable.

We are currently seeking two IPS Employment Specialists to work as part of the Community Mental Health and Mental Health Hub Teams. This exciting role will work closely with the Director of Fundraising, Individual Giving Manager and Digital Marketing Manager to develop a strategy, plan and key performance metrics for digital donor acquisition and fundraising. Already expert and excited by digital fundraising campaign development, you’ll have a unique combination of creative and business skills. These will enable you to create engaging digital content and through your expertise in paid search, google grants and paid social, optimise the ROI for Starlight in terms of donor engagement, acquisition, and income. You’ll be curious and take time to understand how we’re supporting children in healthcare settings which will enable you to create content that resonates with our key audiences. Finally, alongside strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, you will be proactive and results-driven with a ‘can do’ attitude to work.
