The Role

The Governance Assistant’s duties and responsibilities include:

Consortium hosts the largest network of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans + groups, projects and organisations in the UK (600 members) and offers a range of support so that they can deliver vital support and services to over 5 million LGBT+ people, their friends and families. We are also a specialist grant funder, having provided over £1.75m in grants since 2019, across 275 awards, with this being an exciting area of growth falling within the remit of this role.
We are recruiting for a Head of Partnerships and Development who will support our charity, and the LGBT+ sector, to continue growth in an appropriate and sustainable way. We are seeking an excellent relationship builder who can help us maximise our ability to generate positive social impact through relationship-building and fundraising skills.
As Head of Partnerships & Development you will be responsible for managing key business partnerships, identifying new potential income streams (for Consortium & the LGBT+ sector), and exploring opportunities to increase the impact of our work.
You will devise creative and innovative strategies including campaigns with partners, liaising with corporate contacts and building and developing relationships with new key stakeholders.
You will provide line management and support to the existing Partnerships and Development team of 5 team members (LGBT+ Fund Development Manager; Grants Officer; Communications Officer; 2 National LGBT Heath Partnership Officers). We adopt a collaborative approach across the team, so there are opportunities to actively engage with others across the entire team so we can maximise the impact we have as a charity.

About the role:
The purpose of the Fundraising Manager’s role is to develop the role and fundraising strategy of the organisation. You will support the CEO with creating the role, strategy, systems, and activities of income generation for the organisation. Phyllis Tuckwell is looking to appoint a Registered Nurse with experience in palliative and end of life care who wishes to further develop these skills. The role is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to be supported by the skilled and expert nursing and clinical teams within Phyllis Tuckwell. This fixed term post will consist of an initial 1-month induction on the IPU, followed by a further 2 placements of 9 months each on our In-Patient Unit and with our Hospice Care at Home team. The final month will be an opportunity to consolidate your learning.
The role involves holistic assessment and identification of patient needs, decision making and care planning alongside other MDT colleagues and community partners. It involves strong assessment skills, implementation of a management plan and evaluation to ensure that responsive high-quality, nursing care and support is available for patients, their families, and carers.
The role requires a range of skills and knowledge in palliative care nursing including symptom management, psychological skills, medication administration and management, organisational, leadership and people management skills. Patient, family and carer education, including for patients and professionals within care homes, is also an element of the role.
The successful candidate will have, or be willing to work towards, a qualification in palliative care, will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Their role will have clinical leadership and practice development responsibilities, and the successful applicant will work towards taking an active role in workload management and high-quality care, including patient safety and service improvement.

Projects Assistant role description
The role involves identifying relevant project and research opportunities; assisting with developing winning bids and delivering successful projects. Examples of recent projects include developing a water scarcity index for BSi and creating an evaluation framework for water saving campaigns. You will report to a Projects Manager and be joining a small but growing sub-team winning and delivering water efficiency research projects. About Social Change Lab
Social Change Lab is a nonprofit conducting and disseminating social movement research to help solve the world’s most pressing problems. Historically, social movements conducting disruptive campaigns seem to have been crucial in driving significant political, social and economic change. Despite this, there has been little research systematically analysing the effectiveness of social movements and the strategies or tactics that most influence the success of these campaigns. The online searches will be conducted by a person who is independent of the interview and selection process and will focus on relevant information returned via searches of the candidate’s name (and variations thereof). Social media searches will be limited to professional platforms such as LinkedIn. Any concerns relating to suitability for work with children and young people will be forwarded to the interview panel, for discussion during the interview.
