Role Mission.

I am here to lead Scotty’s outreach to bereaved military families — helping more people find, trust, and access our support by creating a visible, welcoming, and engaged community.

I am accountable for:

• Developing and delivering Scotty’s Outreach strategy, aligned with the charity’s long-term vision and growth targets.
• Leading the development of a new in-house team, ensuring strong performance, alignment, and support across all outreach activities.
• Achieving our beneficiary reach and engagement targets, including community growth, email sign-ups & engagement, social reach, and event/webinar attendance.
• Ensuring all outreach activity is sensitive, on-brand, and audience-focused, particularly in the context of bereavement and the military community.

The key responsibilities of this role are:

• Shape and deliver the Outreach strategy to engage bereaved military families across the UK, helping us to a) reach more bereaved families, and b) maintain regular engagement with those families.
• Lead and support the development of the Outreach squad as it grows.
• Plan and oversee delivery of digital and offline outreach activity, including social media, email marketing, website content, printed publications, and event promotion.

• Build a deep understanding of Scotty’s mission, our audience, the services we provide, and strategic direction.
• Finalise the Outreach strategy with the CEO, including key audience segments, platform focus, and performance metrics.
• Begin recruitment of the Outreach Squad (Social Media Exec to start, subject to funding confirmation).
• Produce and maintain a 90-day content and campaign plan, working closely with other teams.
• Establish baseline data for outreach KPIs and set up regular performance reporting.
• Picked up accountability for beneficiary marketing-related tools such as email, website, social etc.

The 6-month goals for this role are:

• Support the recruitment and onboarding of the Social Media Exec (TBC).
• Have created audience journeys and set up systems (CRM) to mirror them.

• Complete internal and external review of what’s working in outreach — optimise content, messaging, and tactics accordingly.
• Refine and relaunch Scotty’s beneficiary-facing email comms strategy to improve open and click-through rates.
• Begin developing a 12-month Outreach roadmap for Year 2, including content themes, campaign ideas, and team development needs.

ISWAN has recently created this new role, which will be pivotal to further developing our quality service to seafarers. We have seen significant growth in the number and usage of our helplines and now seek to ensure we have a management structure capable of coping with further helpline growth.

As ISWAN’s Head of Helpline Services, you will be responsible for the strategic development, account management and evaluation of all ISWAN helpline services.  

We have no preconceptions about where the successful applicant will come from but you will bring experience of managing multi-channelled helpline operations and best practice as well as planning, measuring and delivering user and client service improvements.

You will need to be capable of working effectively within a complex international context and have sound experience of service development. This is a part-time role (21 hours per week) but we are keen to find the right person and therefore happy to discuss flexible working patterns. About the role  

It’s an exciting and important time for our charity as we work to help more people out of homelessness and poverty as part of an ambitious strategy. 

The newly created role of Federation Development Lead will sit within the Partnerships and Federation Development directorate, to support the delivery of key charity and federation-wide objectives, as part of our mission to empower people affected by homelessness and poverty to change their lives for the better while using our voice to achieve social change.

Overall purpose

The Data and Insights Manager will be a vital part of Breaking Barriers’ Data and Innovation Team, which has overall responsibility for Breaking Barriers’ data infrastructure and data analysis (relating to clients, programmes, fundraising, corporate partners and communications). They will oversee the gathering, processing, analysis and presentation of Breaking Barriers’ data, in order to ensure we are as evidence-based and effective an organisation as possible. This will offer the opportunity to influence decision making at all levels and have a genuine impact on Breaking Barriers’ clients. The Data and Insights Manager will also take ownership of various projects to improve the organisation’s CRM (Salesforce) and its integration with other applications. In addition, they will support the Head of Data and Innovation with the management of the Data and Innovation Team’s working relationships with other teams and with coordinating the Data and Innovation team’s work.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in CRM management, ideally having worked as a Salesforce Administrator. They should possess a high level of data literacy, with knowledge of data analytics and visualisation. They should excel as a project manager and a communicator with a willingness to work collaboratively across teams. There is considerable scope for personal development in this role, with opportunities to shape the organisation’s future systems with a key emphasis on self-driven learning and development. You will play a pivotal role supporting the Charity in several different ways. The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a purposeful and proactive individual to work within a small (but growing), friendly and dynamic team in a varied role.

We are expanding our operational team and so we are looking for a Projects Administrative and Events Assistant. This is an entry level post. This hands-on role would suit a responsive, dependable implementer who is willing to step up  when something is needed and determined to see things through, even if problems surface. You will need to enjoy working proactively and flexibly in a fast-paced environment, and have a logical, systematic approach, as well as excellent communication and IT skills. Our team works remotely, but there are also opportunities to co-work (depending on location). You’ll be encouraged and supported to grow and develop your administrative and events skills and expertise within this role.

Responsibilities

Working closely with the Warm Welcome Operations Director and wider team your primary responsibility will be to provide administrative  and event support to our team, taking ownership of specific tasks as required, including;

Administration support:

• Monitoring email inboxes, responding to and fielding enquiries as appropriate

• Taking meeting minutes

• Collecting and entering data for various spreadsheets and documents efficiently

• Maintaining and updating information on our CRM tool

• Ensuring project documents are responsibly and securely stored and updated on the GDrive

• Chairing internal meetings

• Administrating a small grants programme to spaces

Communication support:

• Supporting with communications e.g. storygathering at events or space visits and managing the story/ photo archives

• Creating presentations for meetings and events

• Liaising with stakeholders and funders in a timely manner as required

Event support:

• Organising meetings/events, including booking venues, creating invites, monitoring responses, recording and managing the technical aspects of online events, sending out feedback forms etc.

• Ensuring the smooth running of in person events

Teamworking:

• Supporting the work of the wider Warm Welcome/Good Faith Partnership Team as capacity and need allows

• Other responsibilities commensurate with the post.

Person specification

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience: 

• Tenacious with a natural drive to push tasks through to completion and to the required standards of excellence

• Quick and willing to respond to the needs of others by pitching in and helping with tasks

• Highly computer literate: proficient users of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Workspace, as well as being comfortable and keen to learn new technologies and use new tools

• Able to relate well to a range of stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds

• Highly organised and details-focussed

• Confident to take the initiative and solve problems pro-actively

• Self-starter, able to manage themselves and their time, juggling a variety of tasks and priorities

• Willing to work flexibly, which may occasionally require working out of normal working hours

• Willing and able to work remotely, predominantly from home, but with the possibility to co-work with other members of the team (depending on location)

• Have the right to work in the UK

Working arrangements 

• Current members of the team are based across the UK, with some in London, Reading, Bristol, Manchester and Northern Ireland. Applicants must be able to travel to Bristol once a month for a Tuesday full team meeting. Given the nature of this role, we would also expect the applicant to carry out a reasonable amount of travel to both projects and partners across the UK.

Birmingham Voluntary Service Council (BVSC) is the city’s leading infrastructure organisation for the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector. We exist to strengthen and champion Birmingham’s voluntary and community organisations, supporting them to grow, collaborate and increase their impact across the city. Our work spans a wide range of areas including health and social care, children and young people, community development, and multiple complex needs.

We are now looking for an Income Generation Manager to join our team, on a 12 month fixed term contract. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who understands the importance of sustainable funding and wants to use their skills to make a real difference. In this role, you will provide targeted support to community organisations and community-led libraries across Birmingham, helping them to develop their fundraising skills and build long-term financial resilience.

You will deliver bespoke support, workshops, and resources designed to improve income generation across the sector. Working closely with organisations, you will help identify and secure suitable funding opportunities through bid writing, applications to trusts and foundations, and developing other income streams such as events, sponsorship and corporate partnerships. You will also take a hands-on approach to achieving agreed income targets — around £200,000 in the first year, rising to £500,000 within 18 months.

Collaboration is at the heart of this role. You will work with Birmingham City Council and other strategic partners to ensure our support aligns with city-wide priorities, while also building strong relationships with funders and networks to open up new opportunities for community groups. Alongside this, you will monitor outcomes and report on the impact of your work, maintaining accurate records and producing reports that highlight progress and learning across the programme.

To succeed in this role, you will need to bring proven experience in fundraising or income generation, ideally within the voluntary and community sector. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to write compelling bids and proposals. You will be confident working independently while also being an enthusiastic collaborator who thrives on building partnerships. Reporting into the Strategic Finance Business Partner, this post will lead an established capital finance team, providing proactive and independent support to directorates while overseeing all financial aspects of the Council’s ambitious Capital Programme. The key duties of the Lead Accountant (Capital) will be:

• Lead a small finance capital team, ensuring high-quality service delivery across the Council’s ambitious Capital Programme.
• Co-ordinate capital monitoring, close down, and budget setting processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Provide robust financial appraisals and cost-benefit analyses for business cases to support senior decision-making.

• Act as a key link between service accounting/finance managers, ensuring resources are effectively planned and utilised.

The successful candidate will have:

• Full membership of CIMA, CCAB or equivalent, with post-qualification experience.
• A strong technical background with proven experience in capital accounting, financial reporting, and risk management.
• Demonstrable experience of managing and developing staff.
• The ability to communicate complex financial information to a wide range of stakeholders, both financial and non-financial.
• Experience of treasury, audit or statutory accounts would be advantageous.
• Ideally, a background in the public sector, but this is not essential.

The responsibilities of the Senior Financial Accountant will include:

• Support the production of the GPA Annual Report and Accounts including provision of consolidation returns for Cabinet Office departmental accounts and Whole of Government Accounts
• Maintain and analyse accurate accounting records including preparation and monitoring of Statement of Financial Position reconciliations and accrual and other journals
• Monitor the effectiveness of key controls including those operated by outsourced service providers
• Prepare tax returns to deadlines including monthly VAT return and Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) returns
• Support the delivery of internal and external audits including provision of fully supporting and signposted evidence, monitoring of requests and responding to auditors in a timely way
