Individual giving volunteer roles

As one of Britain’s most distinctive public art galleries, Pallant House Gallery offers critically-acclaimed exhibitions and a world-class collection of Modern British art, set within a beautiful 18th century Grade I listed townhouse and contemporary wing. 

We are currently inviting applications from prospective new Trustees with skills and experience in the following areas:

• Fundraising and philanthropy in museums, galleries and the cultural sector, particularly in relation to major donor networks and/or trusts and foundations
• Capital redevelopment projects, particularly architectural design, project management and construction
• Digital communications and marketing
• Current professional experience of the museums, galleries and heritage sector, including knowledge of the public sector priorities and funding

We welcome applications from people from all backgrounds and previous Board experience is not required. The successful candidates will be given an induction into the working of the Gallery. This is a voluntary role but the Gallery will reimburse Trustees for reasonable travel or out-of-pocket expenses, in line with our expenses policy.

Volunteering in the shop

Mary's Living & Giving for Save the Children is unique - a vibrant result of the generous gifts of local individuals and companies being turned around by the skills and passions of volunteer teams, to create a destination retail experience. Selling womenswear, menswear, shoes, and bags to household goods, our shops can be found in the London villages and bring in vital funds for Save the Children.

Our Highgate Shop Volunteers are in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.

It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied.

What will you be doing?

It’s not just about strategy, governance and finance, though these are important. It’s about bringing a wealth of different voices, skills and experiences to the table, and harnessing your energy, creativity and commitment to make a real difference. This is a voluntary position, but expenses are reimbursed.

The role of a trustee is varied and rewarding. It includes:

· Ensuring compliance with the values and objectives of PWA

· Agreeing all new policies and procedures

· Overseeing financial plans and budgets

· Approving the annual business plan

· Oversee the organisation’s fundraising plans and strategy

· Provide guidance and advice to the trustee board on fundraising

· Oversee organisational fundraising and ensure it is carried out in legal, transparent and accountable ways

Board members have a collective responsibility. This means that trustees act as a group and not as individuals.

Commitment

You will be required to attend a minimum of 8 meetings per year which are held on weekday evenings. These are currently being held on line however this may change. There are also two away day events in person. Three-year term, with a maximum of two terms.

What are we looking for?

· Someone with sufficient fundraising/income generation experience.

· An understanding of the UK charity sector.

· A thorough understanding of the Code of Fundraising Practice.

· Experience of diverse fundraising practices, including trusts and foundations, individual giving, major donors,        corporate, community and events.

· Excellent networking skills, influencing and communication skills.

· Knowledge of the Peterborough area.

· Experience of strategic planning.

· Strong leadership skills.

· The ability to listen and engage effectively. You are comfortable with challenge and debate and are able to encourage that in others whilst fostering a collaborative board environment.

· A strong personal commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.

We're looking for a front-end developer (React Native) to join our growing remote team building a social impact app helping people experiencing homelessness and domestic violence.

Unify Giving is a digital donation platform that connects donors directly to verified individuals in need — no middlemen, full transparency. Think of it as a new way to give, where your impact is visible, personal, and meaningful.

What we're building:

• A React Native mobile app (launched March 2025) for iOS & Android

• Donor dashboards, beneficiary profiles, restricted purchases, and live impact tracking

• A system that empowers individuals through dignity and direct support

We're looking for someone who:

• Has solid experience with React Native and front-end development

• Can commit a few hours a week

• Is excited by social impact, ethical tech, and building something that matters

• Enjoys being part of a remote, collaborative, globally distributed team

This is a volunteer role, but one with purpose, autonomy, and real-world impact.

• Are you over 18 and living in the UK? You must be over the 18 years of age and live permanently in the UK.
• Do you have a mobile phone or laptop? You can do this role whether you are, whether it be on a sofa or on a plane.
• How much time can you give? As much as you want to do. We are flexible and like to work around you.
• Do you like to learn? We provide training for all volunteers that join us. You'll have access to our courses to help you advance your knowledge and certificates to add to your CV.

How does it work?

In 2025 we launched our arm chair volunteering initiative to help us spread the word about our service and to give people the opportunity to take part in surveys and projects to help us deliver the best mental health support to the UK public.

We'd like to embrace what you love doing, whether that be sharing on socials, proof reading, surveys, sharing experiences or getting involved in our fabulous projects.

Important information:

In order to volunteer for knus as an ambassador, you will need to complete a brief application form and a ID check. A DBS is not required for this role, however, if you wish to progress to another role you may need a disclosure. We do this to ensure of service remains a safe place to volunteer for all. Please do not worry about this, we will help you as much as we can.

Training is provided by us and our training partners. You will be required to attend this training using online conferencing software such as zoom or teams.

White Ribbon Alliance UK is an intersectional feminist charity working to end gender-based violence and advance gender equity in sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). We focus especially on marginalised and underrepresented communities.

Through research, advocacy, training, and systems change, we centre the voices of women, girls, and trans and non-binary people across the lifecycle of sexual and reproductive health. Our programmes are grounded in intersectional feminist values and led by lived experience.

About the Role

We are recruiting Campaign & Fundraising Volunteers to support the charity in achieving its fundraising goals for the annual The Big Give's  Women & Girls Match Fund. It is a national campaign to raise £20,000 to fight medical misogyny in gynaecological and perinatal care. All donations made through our campaign page will be matched up to the first £5,000 raised by The Big Give, and we would like to find corporate or individual donors who are willing to match donations as well, or make one-off donations of their own.

Our project team consists of experts in social media marketing, campaign content creation, graphic design, digital communications, and project administration. We now need additional volunteer to support donor outreach and fundraising efforts — helping us build relationships, increase visibility, and reach new supporters before and during the campaign week, or to run small fundraisers locally in your community. 

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll join a small, supportive team and contribute in ways that suit your skills and capacity. Depending on your interests, tasks may include:

Donor Outreach & Fundraising

• Reaching out to individual, corporate, or high-value donors

• Helping us recruit and liaise with influencers who care about women's and girls' reproductive health

• Writing or editing outreach messages, talking points, and thank-yous

• Coordinating small peer-led fundraisers (e.g. bake sales, quiz nights, digital events)

• Helping us track responses, donations, and follow-ups

We’ll provide all materials, templates, and guidance — you’ll never be left to figure it out alone.

What You’ll Get From It

• Supervision and support from WRA UK staff and senior volunteers

Who This Role Is For

We’re looking for people who are:

• Available to begin ASAP as the campaign preparation has begun so that we are ready for the week the fundraising event runts (8-15 October)

• Confident communicators and relationship builders

• Proactive, reliable, and responsive

• Passionate about equity in reproductive healthcare

• Able to work independently but keen to collaborate with a team

• Fundraising, stakeholder management, and sales experience —not mandatory, but nice to have.

• Motivation and willingness to help.

Volunteer - Homeline befriending project

Homeline is a befriending project for older people based in Hammersmith and Fulham. We are looking for enthusiastic and committed people to join our team, who live in or near H&F or work in the area and can spare an hour weekly.

Activities might involve:

* provide a listening ear

* read to a person with visual impairment

* accompany for walks to a local park or appointments.
