Key Responsibilities

Spear Foundation

• Recruit young people onto the course and prepare them to engage.
• Prepare and deliver coaching sessions for up to 15 young people to transform their attitudes and readiness to step into the world of work.
• Work with volunteers to deliver one-to-one weekly sessions to check-in on individual progress, guide and motivate them.
• Build relationships with the young people and keep them engaged.

Spear Career

• Maintain contact with trainees and continue relationships with them to keep track of their progress into employment and encourage them.
• Maintain records through data gathering and data entry into Salesforce.

Relationship management

• Build and manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses and other organisations.
• Participate in job fairs, run taster sessions, recruit and support volunteers for mock interview days, and welcome visitors to the centre.

Church community

• Fully engage with the Trinity and St Paul’s staff teams, including participation in staff prayers, socials and retreat days.
• Be an advocate for the Spear Programme within the life of the church, including the recruitment of volunteers.
• Encourage and build prayer support for Spear.
• Help facilitate connections between the life of the church and trainees (past and present)

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for two Advocates to join our team covering Lincoln. Your role will require you to travel to locations such as clients’ homes, hospitals, care homes and within community settings across the area to meet with clients and professionals. You will be home based for administration; therefore, access to your own transportation and a suitable home internet connection is essential. 

Both roles are full-time role for 35 hours per week. 

About you

Desirably you will have some experience of working as an Advocate, providing welfare, supporting, or caring for Adults or young people who have support needs, ideally for those with a variety of communication needs, mental ill health, physical health issues, or barriers to accessing education and support.

You should have worked or volunteered in health, social care, welfare, support or care services, education or young person’s services, or advice and guidance.

  How are staff supported to work remotely? 

VoiceAbility has a small number of offices. Employees including Team Leaders are homebased for Administration and meetings will be held online as well as in person in the relevant community. 

When you need to travel for work, expenses will be paid (mileage or public transport costs).

About the role

As Senior Caseworker, you will provide first and second-tier specialist advice and casework support on a range of welfare benefits issues. You will manage a caseload of complex cases and will take cases to the First-tier Tribunal. Issues we commonly advise on include PIP, LCWRA and Universal Credit.

You will also offer guidance to our Pro-bono Project volunteers on their appeals cases, review cases and submissions to ensure accuracy and quality, and deliver training to PBP project volunteers. You will contribute to the work of the policy team, sharing expertise, insights and evidence.

About you

You will have significant experience as a welfare rights advisor and possess in-depth knowledge of welfare benefits legislation, case law, and procedures, including challenges to decisions and representation at tribunals. You will have at least five years' experience delivering welfare benefits advice on a range of issues and have substantial experience of representing clients at the First-tier Tribunal. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have a commitment to working with communities who are marginalised and underserved.

With a passion for helping people to overcome poverty, you will have the ability to interview, advise, and work with service users empathetically. You will have a commitment to working in an anti-poverty charity that sees Policy & Influencing and Advice work as complimentary and integrated components of its strategy to eradicate poverty. Identifying and highlighting social policy issues and trends arising out of your advice and casework you will help inform our policy influencing and campaigning.

Key Responsibilities

Information, advice and guidance:

• Work one-on-one with adults and children with a visual impairment and their carers/ families, providing a comprehensive initial assessment in a person-centred, empathetic, and empowering manner.
• Provide internal and external referrals and deliver follow-up actions to enable maximum wellbeing for service users.
• Manage incoming and outgoing referrals internally and with a wide range of external providers, communicating promptly to manage cases effectively and safely.
• Work closely with team members and volunteers to collate and send Information Packs and other necessary communications such as appointment letters in accessible formats.
• Assess risks as needed and report any safeguarding concerns to the Safeguarding Lead.

Equipment:

• Be aware of and able demonstrate and advise on equipment for people with a visual impairment when needed and/or refer to other services.
• If needed during home/ care home visits, provide minor adaptations such as high visibility tape on steps or tactile markings on appliances.

Data management:

• Ensure that all service delivery to individuals and service user data is promptly and appropriately recorded and managed on the Vision North Somerset database, in accordance with procedures.
• Work with team members and volunteers to maintain accuracy of the Vision North Somerset service user database, including collecting data permissions and equality monitoring information from service users during visits.

Local networking and knowledge:

• Develop and maintain knowledge and resources on relevant services offered by organisations to people in North Somerset. Work with the Administrator to maintain records on online files and paper files (for example service leaflets).
• Occasionally attend local meetings, arrange meetings with staff from key local organisations or represent Vision North Somerset to develop mutual knowledge of local services.

Battersea has recently approved a new 5-year organisational strategy to deliver an even greater impact for dogs and cats through our Prevent, Support and Care activity. This, alongside Battersea’s significant growth in recent years, means that we now require greater coordination and structure to support how we prioritise and manage key organisational activity and manage our resources effectively.

A little bit about the role 

Location: Hybrid, 2 days a week expected in our London Office. Those living outside the M25 can opt to not receive London Office Allowance and agree a more flexible office attendance pattern at offer stage.

Salary: £27,613.80 (£31,000.53 including London Office Allowance) plus competitive pension

The Academic Registry team, one of the sub-teams within programme management, is responsible for ensuring that participants’ academic  programme journeys are well-administered. The team are responsible for areas such as academic policies and processes (including for assessment and student records), along with several other operational aspects of Frontline’s academic provision, from attending and preparing data for examination boards or exceptional circumstances panels, to liaising with external markers.

The Academic Programmes Administrator will work to contribute to a first-class participant experience on the Approach Social Work programme. The post holder will be required to be flexible and adaptable in response to diverse requirements in the wider team through the academic year. A high standard of customer service is expected throughout, including at peak periods. 

Some key responsibilities include:

• Act as first point of contact for queries from various stakeholders, working closely with regional delivery teams to ensure that applicants, participants and Fellows (our programme alumni) are fully supported with the information they need
• Service online and in-person meetings as required, including scheduling, circulating papers, coordinating breakout sessions and writing minutes.
• Provide support to the academic registrar for all registry functions, including the recording of assessment outcomes and preparation for exam boards
• Maintain accurate participant records, ensuring that all data is maintained and shared appropriately and in line with legal and regulatory requirements

You will have the ability to engage and work collaboratively with individuals, communities and with all stakeholders, including running group workshops and presentations. Role and Responsibilities

Housing and Service Delivery

• Provide strong and effective support to residents in Acorn House that focuses on their strengths and goals, and is delivered in a personalised way and within a framework of active engagement and co-production

• Developing and reviewing support plans that reflect the interests and aspirations of residents

• Induct new residents in line with the service’s policies and procedures and support them to continue in their journey towards recovery from addiction

• Carry out assessments of those referred to Acorn House, and induct new residents

• Ensure the fundamental needs of residents are met including good quality accommodation and facilities, healthy food, advice and guidance around benefits, and alcohol and drug testing (to help maintain an abstinent environment)

• Deal with the immediate support needs of residents as appropriate, providing crisis intervention where necessary

• Support residents in addressing physical and mental health issues, including liaison with primary and secondary health teams

• Ensure residents are supported through court or welfare rulings (if necessary)

How are staff supported to work remotely?

VoiceAbility has a small number of offices. Employees including Team Leaders are homebased for Administration and meetings will be held online as well as in person in the relevant community.

When you need to travel for work, expenses will be paid (mileage or public transport costs). 

VoiceAbility offers the usual regular manager one to ones, Staff forums and communities of practice depending on role. Team meetings with a mix of virtual and in person approach.

Job Title: Risk and Compliance Officer

Location: Home-based (requires occasional travel to London, likely once per month, to attend meetings, events and training) or Hybrid (with one day per week in the London Office)

Hours: 35 hours per week                               

Contract type: Permanent

Salary: £30,290 per annum (home-based) - £33,320 per annum (hybrid)

What we’re looking for:

• Someone who can lead and embed a proactive risk management culture across the organisation.
• Someone who helps teams identify issues early on and plan effectively for business continuity.
• Someone who can be a go-to expert on data protection and compliance, offering clear and practical guidance and advice.
• Someone who stays ahead of regulatory changes and supports others through training and advice.
