Fundraising Officer

We are looking for an experienced Fundraising Officer to join our small and friendly fundraising team. You will support the High Value Partnerships Manager and Community Fundraising Manager, both of which are already well-established income streams with lots of great potential. Purpose of the role

• Reporting to the High Value Partnerships Manager you will provide support across our two priority Fundraising streams – Community Fundraising (Community, Events and Individual/Regular Giving) and High Value Partnerships (Trusts, Grants, Corporate and Sponsorship).

The Finance Officer will join a small and dynamic team that covers Finance, Human Resources, IT and Business Operations. The Finance & Operations team play a critical role by running the day-to-day operations and providing the infrastructure that enables the continued delivery of the Trust’s mission and objectives.

The Sutton Trust is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Finance Officer to join the team and provide crucial support on a range of key finance processes. This is a fast-paced and hands-on role that requires an understanding of basic finance processes. You can expect a steep learning curve in a passionate and supportive working environment.

Main duties

• Maintaining the Purchase Ledger including processing supplier invoices, staff expense claims, grant and bursary payments, reconciling statements and making the relevant payments

• Cash management including checking bank transactions daily, allocating transactions on the accounting system and producing regular bank reconciliations. Paying in cheques and reconciling floats, if required
• Maintaining accurate records of both unrestricted and restricted fund transactions including receipts, grants, staff expenses, overheads and cash
• Providing timely and accurate financial support to the Programmes, Development and Research teams to assist them with forecasting, budgeting, reconciliation and (donor) reporting

Terms of Appointment

We’re looking for a part-time Grants and Trusts Officer (2.5 days a week). Office or home based, they will be a vital member of our fundraising team, working closely with programme staff and the CEO to continue to grow grant funding for our work – shaping funding bids, managing grants and reporting, and building relationships with funders and funding networks. 

Purpose of role:

Increasing and diversifying the sources of grant funding for A Rocha UK’s work is key to our fundraising strategy. The Grants and Trusts Officer will play a key role identifying, securing, and managing grants from a range of sources, including small trusts, large foundations, and Church denominations. About the Role

The Legal Officer will be an integral part of the UK Litigation team and will work closely with external legal teams to advance our cases and ensure coordination of legal actions in line with Reprieve’s strategic goals. They will be responsible for administration and maintenance of casefiles and key case management documents and assume certain day-to-day file management responsibilities. Length and Salary

This is a full-time role, on a one-year fixed term contract, with the possibility to extend, subject to funding. The annual salary is £42,193 per annum, less any required deductions for income tax and national insurance. 

This role is based in Reprieve’s London office. Reprieve operates a hybrid working model and we require staff to work two days per week from the London office and the rest of the week from home. Applicants must have the current right to work in the UK, which will be checked prior to interview.

Your presence is important during core office hours, whether remotely or in the office. The Governance Team manages the effective operation of The Scout Association’s Board of Trustees and its sub-Committees. Our Governance Officers have a key role in the management of these and the production of the documentation required to facilitate each meeting.

We are looking for a highly organised and competent individual who has good experience of minute taking at Board and Committee level, and who is keen to broaden their knowledge in the third sector and in the company secretarial profession. You’ll have a keen eye for detail and confidence and sensitivity to manage strategic level information in a professional manner.

Time management will be key in ensuring you are fully prepared for the committee cycle which includes agenda preparation, in consultation with the Chair and key staff support, collation and distribution of papers, taking minutes at the meetings and sharing agreed actions with Committee members.

You’ll be expected to provide ongoing support to the Chair of the Board, including diary management, and support to our trustees, including ad hoc enquiries, inductions, arranging appraisals and booking accommodation.

As a volunteer led organisation, The Scout Association holds Board meetings at weekends and Committee meetings during normal office hours (between 9am and 5pm) as well as some in the evening and at weekends. Reasonable notice will be given when required to attend these meetings.

Governing Documents and Events

The Governance Team also manage the Association’s Policy, Organisation and Rules (POR) document which needs careful scrutiny and annual updates in line with changes to legislation and operationally within the movement.

Working with the Governance Manager, the Governance Officer is responsible for providing statistical reports on a quarterly basis for the Board.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the Company Secretary and Governance Manager with effective management of the Committees serviced by the Governance Team. This includes being aware of agenda items prior to each meeting to mitigate any potential issues that may arise. 
• Taking the minutes of agreed Committee and Board meetings and producing a set of minutes for approval within agreed time period.

• Experience of working with trustees and volunteers

Purpose of the role:

At NEON, we know that you can’t separate the external work of the organisation from the internal work. They are so interlinked and interdependent that they both have to be given priority and resources if we want to achieve high impact. We see them as inseparable. 

So the purpose of this role is to support NEON achieving its mission by ensuring the smooth running of NEON’s finance systems and processes. You’ll do this by delivering on the main financial tasks day-to-day, and support with finance projects aimed at improving NEON’s systems.

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Doing all of our day-to-day fundraising administration to keep us well-organised and compliant. This includes:

   1. Recording and monitoring fundraising data using our Fundraising Tracking Database

   2. Keeping all of our grant agreements, contracts and other relevant documentation well-organised on GDrive and elsewhere 

   3. Ensuring compliance with the financial requirements of the grant agreements, and updating and maintaining the grant payments schedule 

   4. Raising invoices on Xero in line with funder agreements - noting instalment dates and receipts

2. Preparing payroll each month, ensuring everything happens on time and coordinating with our payroll agency. (This may only be a temporary responsibility) 

3. Processing and reconciling payments. This includes:

   1. Reconciling bank receipts and chasing late payments

   2. Processing supplier invoices and payments

   3. Monitoring our team’s Pleo card expenses and posting on Slack to our team for authorisation

   4. Managing the subscriptions on Pleo cards (this is likely a temporary responsibility until our People & Ops Manager returns from sabbatical leave)

4. Preparing some financial reports and accounts. This includes accounts to trial balance, and ad hoc reports from Xero when our team have finance queries or need support

5. Supporting with finance projects which make our finance systems work more efficiently, simply and sustainably e.g. helping to update our budget spreadsheets and approach to budgeting, or moving to a new bank

6. Supporting the Head of Finance with budgets, financial planning and reports and any other ad hoc finance tasks

7. Being part of Ops Hub shared work and cross-organisational work and team days 

About you:

• You have experience dealing with people in different capacities, both internally and externally, on a day to day basis, and build strong working relationships

• You have solid finance experience and skill. For us that means:

  1. a minimum of three years work experience in a finance role, preferably within the charity/non profit sector. This means you have a good understanding of non-profit finance, including VAT and managing restricted and unrestricted funds

  2. a solid understanding of Accounts Payable (with BACs, invoicing, etc) and Receivable (invoicing and credit control) processes

  3. a Level 4 AAT, equivalent qualification or equivalent experience

  4. experience in control accounts reconciliation, and posting journals

• You know how to use accounting software and apps (e.g., Xero, Quickbooks, Sage) as well as Microsoft Excel or Google sheets

• You are proactive, well-organised and feel empowered to solve problems yourself when they come up (sometimes described as an “ownership mindset”), as well as balancing this with asking for help when you need it

• Excellence is important to you and it shows in your work. Whatever you do, you do it to a high standard

• You have strong organisational and time-management skills that are required to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. And you are comfortable moving between different paces of work - slower, more methodical work and quicker turnaround work

About the role 

Mission Without Borders is seeking an experienced Salesforce Support Specialist to focus on three key areas; Salesforce Administration, training, and process documentation. 

As a Salesforce expert and product champion, the post holder will work closely with our existing Salesforce Support Specialist to be the first point of contact for Salesforce support and training across all staff in all 18 countries. They will triage incoming tickets, provide support, fix problems, make configuration changes, and work closely with our Salesforce Developer and Product Owner to manage change requests. 

With significant stakeholder engagement, they will help to develop a staff training programme for all countries and deliver both routine and ad-hoc training for new employees, new processes, feature changes, and upgrades. 

Process documentation will need to be created for new, modified, and existing Salesforce/business processes along with details of third-party integrations and submitted change requests. 

The role sits within the International Salesforce team, led by the Salesforce Developer and Product Owner. The team’s purpose is to be guardians of the organisations data and processes, supporting the rollout, maintenance, and extension, of our Salesforce platform and services. The Salesforce Developer and Product Owner reports to the International Chief Information Officer (CIO), who is responsible for leading MWB’s digital transformation and ensuring the successful implementation of several new digital, IT, and Salesforce initiatives. 

Who we are looking for 

You must be an exceptionally competent English speaker and have the right to travel to the UK and work in one of the following countries: UK, Albania, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Denmark, Germany, Moldova, Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Switzerland or Ukraine. 

You will have proven experience as a Salesforce Administrator, educated to relevant degree level (or equivalent, or qualified by experience), be a certified Salesforce Admin, and have experience with NPSP. 

A logical thinker, excellent problem solver, and an ability to juggle multiple duties and prioritise incoming requests. 

You must be an excellent written and verbal communicator, have strong stakeholder management skills, and be excellent at customer service.

We are seeking an exceptional trainer who can plan and run online (or occasional in-person) training sessions and create detailed process documentation and training materials to accompany them.
