About the Role

As Finance Business Partner, you’ll play a vital role in helping teams across the Academy make sound financial decisions. Sitting within the Finance team, you'll work closely with programme managers and budget holders to support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and strategic financial planning. Your insights and challenge will help ensure strong financial management across all projects and functions.

This is a high-visibility role, perfect for someone who enjoys combining technical excellence with business partnering and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process, producing templates, analysing submissions, and reconciling across departments.
• Work closely with the Head of Finance to prepare the overall Academy budget and multi-year financial models.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure budgets are uploaded correctly into the finance system.
• Act as a strategic partner and ‘critical friend’ to non-finance stakeholders—providing analysis, advice, and challenge to support effective decision-making.
• Oversee financial compliance on externally funded projects, including grants and contracts.
• Provide regular financial reporting, including management accounts, and assist with risk and scenario planning.

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Solid experience in finance business partnering, budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Excellent interpersonal skills—confident working with stakeholders at all levels and able to influence without authority.
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong analytical skills.
• Experience working in or with mission-led or complex organisations is desirable, but not essential.

Core Responsibilities:

• Scope, commission, and manage evaluation projects to generate actionable evidence for commissioning and service delivery, ensuring effective supplier, project management, and contractor relationships

Candidate:

You will be able to demonstrate:

• Minimum 5 years' experience managing research and evaluation projects
• Strong understanding of evaluation techniques, including expertise in commissioning various evaluation approaches, including process, quantitative impact, and theory-based evaluations
• Experience in developing procurement materials and briefing external suppliers, managing research commissions, and ensuring quality and compliance with financial and contractual requirements
• Proven ability to draft research materials, analyse data, and produce high-quality outputs (quantitative and qualitative)
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to synthesize data from a range of sources
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, skilled in communicating research findings to both internal teams and external audiences, including non-researchers

The Advocacy Team is part of Shelter Scotland’s Communications and Advocacy Department and is responsible for developing the charity’s policy positions, research plan, and public affairs and professional stakeholder engagement.

The Advocacy team works closely with colleagues in Community Advice and our Telephone and Online Advice services to capture evidence of how Scotland’s broken and biased housing system is impacting communities, and colleagues in Communications and Engagement to translate this evidence into compelling public campaigns and fundraising appeals. The Eikon Charity supports children and young people in Surrey to feel safe, heard, and supported. Through one-to-one support, group work, and programmes in schools, they help children build confidence, resilience, and the skills they will need to navigate life’s challenges.

Following a period of growth, the trusts and foundations team now plays a pivotal role in The Eikon Charity’s £1m income strategy. This Trust Fundraiser role will join a three-person team within the broader Engagement function. With a 50/50 split between account management and new business, the postholder will manage a mix of warm and prospective funders, creating compelling proposals and impact reports to secure mostly restricted income.

The successful candidate will inherit a portfolio with long-standing funders and committed support. With a personal target of £150k, this role offers real scope to uplift existing relationships and secure new ones.

The charity is open to applicants from other fundraising disciplines – whether you’re a confident communicator with excellent writing skills, or an early-career fundraiser ready to develop, this is a great opportunity to make a difference within a collaborative and mission-driven team.

As Trust Fundraiser, you will:

• Deliver c.£150k annually through a balance of account management and new business
• Write tailored funding proposals and detailed reports to secure restricted and unrestricted grants
• Steward relationships with clarity and professionalism, organising funder meetings and engagement opportunities
• Research and develop a pipeline of prospects, focusing on Surrey-based trusts and foundations
• Work closely with delivery and engagement teams to gather insight, data, and stories that bring proposals to life
• Maintain accurate CRM records and contribute to reporting, planning, and internal analysis
• Support strategic planning for the team and contribute to a shared fundraising vision

Ideal skills and experience:

• Fundraising experience, with strengths in written communication and/or relationship management
• Proven ability to write persuasive funding proposals and impact reports, drawing on service delivery data
• Confident in meetings and able to represent an organisation to external stakeholders
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills
• Good working knowledge of CRMs and Microsoft 365
• Interest in services supporting children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing
• A collaborative and proactive approach to working with colleagues across departments

The team

You’ll work with colleagues across Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation. 

Key relationships include: Head of Corporate Communications, Corporate Communications Director, Content Producer, Communications Lead – Endowment. Wider corporate communications team colleagues.  

 
Wider relationships will include Digital colleagues embedded in our Impact on Urban Health & Charities teams., and the management of external service providers. 

Key Responsibilities

• Act as lead for our website, social media channels and any future digital products for the Foundation brand, overseeing the day to day management of these channels and ensuring a pipeline of engaging content that supports communications objectives. 

• Take a UX approach to content planning and channel management. Design, test and optimise targeted user journeys across all our channels. 

• Take ownership for developing content for our Digital channels, including copy, images, gifs, and other formats of content. At times working alone, or collaborating with the corporate communications team. 

• Work highly collaboratively with content and communications colleagues to ensure that our channels support the publication and promotion of our relevant and engaging content.  

• Work closely with the corporate communications team, and advise on digital marketing strategy to make sure our website and content are discoverable by our audiences and engaged with, including managing our SEO and paid advertising campaigns via agency partners. 

• Develop our measurement and reporting framework, making sure that data and actionable insights are captured and shared with teams to inform day to day decision making ensuring we’re driven by results. 

• Drive forward an innovative approach to how we use digital to test and learn new approaches based on data and insight and knowledge of best practice. 

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Skills & Experience

 

• Ownership of digital products including websites and channels, including day to day management of social media channels, preferably within a non-profit context. 

• Day to day content production and planning of content for channels including website and social media.

• Capability to lead and run digital projects and campaigns with successful reach and impact. 

• An audience centred, innovative and creative approach to presenting content across digital channels. 

• Experience in developing targeted user journeys to meet strategic objective and user needs. 

• Managing relationships with digital agencies and internal stakeholders. 

• Experience of Digital Marketing and developing an email newsletter product. 
   
• Expertise with the full spectrum of digital marketing and user experience, including search engine optimisation, paid digital advertising campaigns, conversion rate optimisation, user research and content design. 

Knowledge and Qualifications

 

• An interest in issues around health equity and corporate communications.  

• A deep understanding of digital platforms and infrastructure including content management systems, social media scheduling platforms, data visualisation platforms, and email service providers.  

• A strong understanding of analytics, including Google Analytics, Google Search Console, social media analytics (e.g. Sprout), Hotjar, or similar analytics platforms.   

• A strong understanding of content governance policies, content strategy and content design theory and practice.   

• A strong understanding of user centred design and UX principles.   

• A commitment to and understanding of web accessibility and readability.   

• A thorough understanding of current data protection legislation
