Are you a skilled communicator with a passion for crafting digital content that sparks conversation? Are you someone who can plan, deliver and evaluate a range of communications projects?

We are looking to recruit a Digital and Creative Communications Officer with significant experience across all aspects of digital communications, with a keen eye for storytelling.

This post requires an individual looking for a challenging new role, who is ready to take on this exciting and varied opportunity supporting a busy and ambitious team. In this role you will create, curate and disseminate digital content across a wide range of online channels including social media, website, newsletters, publications and others. You will monitor, record and evaluate the performance and reach of our content across all digital channels and work with the Communications Team to develop new and creative ideas to enhance the impact of our work in humanitarian research and innovation. You will support on digital development projects and be a digital advocate for the charity sharing best practice through workshops and training.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years’ experience working in a digital communications role with considerable experience in implementing digital strategies and tactics that can effectively grow brand awareness, drive traffic to the website and increase stakeholder engagement, ideally within the third/charity sector.

You will be given a high degree of autonomy in your work and it is essential that you feel confident working both independently and within a team. Being able to build successful relationships across the organisation will also be vital, along with strong communications skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

We’re a global charity, working to find solutions to complex humanitarian problems through research and innovation. We fund and support work that goes on to shape the way in which people across the world are supported during a crisis.

We are based in the UK, but our roles have a global reach; as an established and respected part of the humanitarian community, we work closely and meaningfully with our fellow networks and actors to make change happen.

If you are passionate about using your digital and communications skills to support the humanitarian community and those affected by crises, and you want to be part of an organisation that creates positive change in the humanitarian sector, then join us and we’ll give you every opportunity to succeed.

We are committed to the safeguarding and protection of children and vulnerable people in our work. We will do everything possible to ensure that only those who are suitable to work with children and vulnerable people are recruited to work for us. This post is subject to a range of vetting checks including a criminal records disclosure.

We recognise the positive value of diversity and promote equality and are committed to improving employment opportunities for minority groups. We welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, particularly from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) and disabled candidates, as BAME and people with disabilities are currently under-represented throughout our work. We also welcome applications from LGB and Trans, and non-binary candidates.

Please note: Due to COVID-19 we are all currently working remotely, so this role will initially be home-based. When deemed safe and appropriate to do so, there will be some UK travel involved in this role, mainly to Cardiff or London. There is the potential for international travel to support key events and activities.
