The Role 

The CSJ Foundation is looking for a Regional Portfolio Manager (North) to join its Portfolio team to help grow and professionalise it’s offering to charities and donors alike. The CSJF has big ambitions for its work with small charities over the next 3 years, central to this work is our Portfolio team. Based in the north of England (ideally north of Sheffield), the post-holder will be responsible for delivering first-rate charity due diligence on some of the best small charities in the UK. In this role you will use tech solutions to drive insights and understanding about CSJF’s work with charities, in addition, the post-holder will gather intel from frontline charities to create insights to inform the CSJ’s policy work. The post-holder will also seek to generate interesting media stories. The post holder will help to generate new income for the CSJF through multiple streams. The post-holder will work towards pre-agreed targets to grow the CSJF’s work, fully supported by the Managing Director and other colleagues. The Regional Portfolio Manager will hold responsibility for building and maintaining relationships with multiple charities based in the North of England, engaging in conversations with local organisations and individuals, to ensure that the CSJF’s work is driven forward effectively. 

The Person 

• Possessing the skills and aptitude to develop new policies and practices for delivering charity/portfolio services

Main Responsibilities 

Responsibilities for this post include:

• Be a leading member of the CSJF’s portfolio team helping to professionalise and enhance our charity due diligence work
• Helping generate insights from charities to contribute to recommendations in CSJ policy reports
• Work with colleagues to develop a first-class data-input and reporting platform (or database) of charities to monitor their impact and activities
• Use this data to generate insights and presentations to showcase our work
• Interpret data to create insights about charities, philanthropy and the voluntary sector
• Use tech solutions to enhance our data analysis and presentation ability
• Use of presentational tools like Canva (and others) to create information packs for internal and external stakeholders
• Work alongside the Comms team to deliver mainstream media stories generated from frontline insights from the Northern charities

About The Role  

As a SQL Insight Analyst, you will be at the heart of our charity’s ambition to drive our decision making through evidence and data backed insights. Working closely with the rest of the Data, Insights and Research team to enable their access to aggregated or granular data points from our Services and Fundraising databases.

You will become an expert on the data points we collect at Help For Heroes and gain understanding of how these all play a part in achieving our overall goal of ensuring Members of the Armed Forces Community Live Well after Service.

About You  

You will be a highly motivated SQL code writer with a passion for making a difference in our community. You will need a sharp and dynamic mind that can infer the business logic that underpins the work we do. You will have the adaptability to be able to speak both in business logic and in the translated SQL language that access the data points needed to provide insight on a particular business challenge. Good organisational skills, energy and the ability to listen, build relationships and inspire both confidence and curiosity within our dataset will be essential to drive the change the Charity is looking for.

We are looking for someone with:  

• The ability to write efficient and accurate SQL code.

• An aptitude for understanding business logic and translating that into all code written.

About Adolescent Health Study

The Adolescent Health Study (AHS) is an ambitious new UKRI-funded initiative to establish a prospective, longitudinal population study that will generate a globally leading open science data platform and research resource. AHS aims to recruit at least 100,000 young people from across the UK and to follow their mental and physical health and wellbeing over at least 10 years. It plans to collect data through questions and measures; to obtain bio-samples for a wide range of genomic and other high-throughput assays; and to capture linked data relevant to health and wellbeing from participants’ health, education and other administrative records. There will be a strong emphasis on engaging with and involving young people, schools, parents and other relevant stakeholders in the design and delivery of the study, as well as on including young people that represent as wide as possible a range of backgrounds, experiences and characteristics. AHS will focus on enabling a wide range of research, including studies of the critical biological and social developments that occur during the transition from childhood to adulthood and the determinants of both mental and physical health and wellbeing in adolescents and young adults.

Purpose of the post

The Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the organisation. Reporting to the Head of Business Operations, the postholder will oversee all financial operations, providing strategic insights to inform decision-making and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and best practices.
This role is integral to supporting the organisation’s mission of advancing health research through effective financial stewardship, and it offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced finance professional to make a significant contribution within a mission-driven organisation.

Main responsibilities

Financial Strategy and Planning
• Develop and implement robust financial strategies to support the organisation’s strategic goals.

What we're looking for

This newly created Campaigns Manager role will be responsible for end-to-end campaign management across digital platforms including Advocate, our programmatic ad platform, and various social media channels. This includes strategy development, planning, coordination, execution, and optimization. Reporting to the Ad Ops Director in Canada, you'll work closely with the Accounts, Performance & Insights, and Product teams across Europe and the US to ensure campaigns are delivered on time, on budget, and on target.

Responsibilities

• Lead on developing digital strategies and media plans, identifying appropriate platforms and formats to maximise impact for our global, progressive client base. 
• Manage Campaign Associates to ensure all digital campaigns are delivered successfully, including tracking KPIs, analyzing performance data, and implementing optimizations to improve results.
• Periodically attend (remote) meetings with clients to present campaign results. 
• Add hands-on-keyboard capacity to build and manage campaigns where needed.
• Continually innovate how we run campaigns, to find better ways to bring impact to our clients.
• Be the people manager and coach of at least one Campaigns Associate. 

Required Expertise

Must Have

• Experience with planning, building and managing successful paid digital campaigns on social media and programmatic channels for progressive political groups. 
• Experience working on multiple progressive campaigns, including at least one cycle of US political campaigns with Democrats or progressive groups. 
• Proven ability to learn new ad tech platforms quickly.
• Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to spot errors, inconsistencies, or performance issues before they escalate.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced, cross-continent environment. 

Nice to Have

• Experience managing / mentoring junior team members.
• Hands-on experience with search, social, and programmatic buying platforms such as: The Trade Desk, Google Search, DV360, LinkedIn, Meta, Snapchat, TikTok, X and YouTube along with Google Campaign Manager for ad serving.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant ad tech and industry best practices.

• Target annual compensation in the range of $105-110k (US) or €80-86k (EU/UK), including base salary, twice-yearly performance bonus, and annual profit sharing.
