About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Policy, Campaigns & Research, the Policy Manager will drive our engagement with government, policymakers, and stakeholders by crafting evidence-based positions that reflect the needs of the YMCA movement and the young people we serve.
You will be responsible for monitoring emerging policy developments, preparing responses to government announcements, and producing high-quality briefings and reports for internal and external stakeholders. You’ll work closely with local YMCAs to ensure our positions are grounded in lived experience and reflect the realities faced by communities across England and Wales.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of YMCA’s public policy positions using robust research and insights.
- Monitor, analyse, and respond to government announcements, select committee work, and policy shifts.
- Produce briefings and reports for the Chief Executive, Board of Trustees, and senior leaders.
- Develop strong relationships with government departments, civil servants, and coalition partners.
- Collaborate with local YMCAs to ensure grassroots experiences inform national policy.
- Amplify the voice of young people in all areas of policy development.
- Support and work closely with colleagues across the Policy, Communications & International (PCI) team.
About You
You are a confident communicator with a deep understanding of the UK policy landscape and experience influencing public policy at a senior level. You bring strategic insight, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to turn complex information into clear, impactful messages.

Finance Manager Job Description
Brent Mencap has been passionate about a healthier and fairer Brent since 1979. We’ve developed and run successful housing, employment, health, advice, wellbeing and self-advocacy services. During austerity and Covid we diversified, successfully taking on NHS work with people with long-term health conditions. We provide social prescribing support and health and wellbeing coaching to patients for Brent GPs. In 2024-25 we helped over 18000 people. We’re a leading partner on the Brent Health Educators Programme.
Our income has substantially increased from £382k in 19/20 to £1.71 million in 23-24. We’ve had to adapt quickly, developing and retaining a much larger staff group, using our data better and improving our marketing.
Brent Mencap offers fantastic free creative and wellbeing activities for people with a learning disability, autism and long-term health conditions. These have flourished since Covid. People love yoga, poetry, singing, gardening, Breathe and Move, self-advocacy, campaigning, awareness raising, CREATE art activities for young people, external trips and parties. Small grants, donations and our reserves fund this while we get longer term funding. Our self-advocates want us to focus on paid employment, youth services and making Brent Council use accessible information properly.
Our current finance manager has been pivotal to Brent Mencap’s recent growth, adapting to paying more people, dealing with complicated invoices, making sure we get paid promptly, being as diligent about a project budget worth 5k as our overall budget and supportive with staff wage queries. While there is lots of data input, reconciling, processing purchase orders, the role involves real involvement in project development, monitoring with other managers and face-to-face involvement with users and staff. It’s never boring and definitely not for the faint hearted!!
As Finance Manager for Brent Mencap, you will have a key leadership position. You will be responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of our finances, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements while ensuring our services are sustainable through sound financial planning. You will work closely with the Executive Director and Trustee Board to provide accurate insights and projections that support long-term growth and resilience.
You will play a pivotal role in reviewing and maintaining our robust finance and administrative system and procedures, managing risks and ensuring our charity finances can support delivery of our mission. You will also contribute to the development of funding applications, tenders, and financial strategies. You will play a key role in supporting funding applications, demonstrating impact through financial reporting, and building processes that enable future growth.

· Design and oversee reporting mechanisms that track the performance and progress of the campaign.

Team Management
· Manage and develop a small, high-performing team (currently two direct reports), setting clear goals, providing coaching, and supporting professional development.

What we are looking for:

This is an exciting opportunity to shape a new senior role within our organisation. The Interim Head of Research and Campaigns will lead our Research function and advocacy efforts, ensuring that evidence-based insights drive our campaigns, policy work, and public engagement.
Recently kicking off our new ‘Creating Positive Change Together’ strategy, coproduced by over 130 staff, volunteers, clients and partners, Groundswell has ambitious plans around influencing more change and amplifying voices to promote healthier lives and a better future for anyone who has experienced homelessness. This role directly aligns with these strategic plans, to refine and use innovative participatory research centring lived experience, share and amplify insight from people with experience of homelessness, and increase our campaigning activities to change systems and break down the barriers that stand in people’s way to a healthier life and more hopeful future.
This role has been created on an interim basis to assess its impact and effectiveness, with a key focus on reviewing the priorities, progression and support of our Research Team and making recommendations for the future regarding this new role. About the role

This is an exciting and challenging position in a friendly and committed insight team. You will work with our partnerships team focusing on insight of disabled people’s needs to our partners. These can be energy suppliers, parcel delivery companies, and academic organisations.
You will need to have experience and skills in using a range of research approaches and methodologies. User testing experience would also be an advantage.
About you
To be successful in this role we are looking for someone who:
· has 2 years direct experience of running insight projects, preferably in a commercial environment
· is educated to degree level, with an insight or market research element
· has GCSEs for English Language and Maths, or an acceptable equivalent
· is able to manage multiple insight projects to time and work in a team
· has a flexible, can-do approach, with strong skills in establishing empathy and rapport with a wide range of people
· is passionate about delivering actionable insight.

St Martin-in-the-Fields Charity (SMITFC) is looking for a strategic, relationship-driven Trusts and Foundations Manager to help shape the future of our income generation from charitable trusts and foundations. Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Work with the Head of Philanthropy, Trusts and Foundations (P&TF) to develop the Charity’s Trust and Foundations growth strategy ensuring it maximises sustainable net income from both general and restricted Trust and Foundation funding sources, diversifies income and starts to spread income timelines away from a reliance on our Christmas appeal period.

- Lead on the cultivation and maintenance of strong relationships with existing funders and trustees, identifying opportunities for key decision makers to become active and engaged in the Charity’s activities, whilst gaining a greater understanding of a project’s long term aims and consequent impact.
- Work in collaboration with the Prospect Researcher to develop a pipeline of new 5-6 figure + Trusts and Foundations prospects able to give within the next 3 years.
- Lead on the bespoke stewardship and engagement of newly identified 5-6 figure + Trusts and Foundations prospects and ensure that submission deadlines are met, and reporting schedules observed.
- Work with the P&TF team to deliver our annual Christmas Appeal – to include the development of the P&TF Christmas Appeal 2025, deliver the annual Christmas Appeal Launch event, and optimize the use of social medial and other platforms to reach potential new funders over the Christmas period and beyond.
- Work with the P&TF team to develop the high value offering for the 100 Anniversary appeal 2026.
- Ensure that resources and budgets are managed effectively and provide Trust and Foundation fundraising financial information as required by the Head of P&TF – including contributing to income risk assessments, identifying gaps or shifts in funding and support contingency planning with the wider P&TF team.
- Ensure accurate records of funding opportunities, donor contact details and prospect research are maintained across CRM and finance systems.
- Work collaboratively with SMITF partner charities to align stewardship, donor asks and maximise income.
Experience and Skills
We are looking for someone who has:

- A strong record of securing and managing major Trust and Foundation partnerships, including six-figure grants.

What you’ll do
ShareAction’s Banking Standards team works towards holding financial institutions accountable for their impact on climate change. We have a history of campaigning on key aspects of banks’ climate strategies – such as their emission reduction targets or fossil fuel policies – and we are gradually expanding our work to include other sustainability themes and banking regulation. We have achieved significant wins, such as contributing to HSBC becoming the world’s largest bank to cease financing for new oil and gas fields, Barclays dramatically reducing its oil sands financing, and mobilising investors to call on Societe Generale to set a renewable energy target.
The team is structured around two main pillars: our campaigning and our research pillar. The research pillar ensures that the team’s campaigning and advocacy work is based on sound analysis and facts. The Senior Research Manager oversees the research pillar, currently composed of three more junior researchers. The Senior Research Manager is responsible for developing and implementing a research strategy that underpins campaign needs for analysis and insight in line with campaign timelines and available resources. You will oversee and contribute to the delivery of high-quality research outputs, including thematic reports, investor briefings, and surveys of Europe’s largest banks, and ensure that they are underpinned by clear and robust research methodologies. Alongside the Head of Banking Programme and the Senior Campaign Manager, you’ll act as an ambassador for the team in external forums, the media, and when meeting with and presenting to external stakeholders, including banks, civil society organisations, and investors.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to conduct advanced statistical modelling as part of a major research project at RoSPA, funded by the Lloyd’s Register Foundation whose World Risk Poll dataset will be analysed in this work. The project will assess the links between socioeconomic inequalities and workplace harms on a global scale. You will be central to designing, conducting and writing up this ground-breaking research project with the support of the wider policy team. An ability to conduct regression analyses on large datasets, work independently, design research programmes and manage your time effectively will be crucial for this role.
This would be an ideal role for recent master’s or PhD graduates or someone completing a research degree, though we welcome candidates from all backgrounds.
Key responsibilities:
- To use advanced statistical skills (including regression analysis) and other research and writing skills to support the delivery on time and to the required standard of a report on global inequalities and workplace safety for the Lloyd’s Register Foundation Grant ‘How does inequality shape the risk of unintentional injury at work?’.
- To work with the Research Manager and Programme and Impact Manager to track and plan the delivery of this project, and to update them on progress
- To actively support the launch of the report, including through providing relevant internal stakeholders with insights into the findings and research process.
