This is a 9-month paid internship opportunity. This role is largely home-based, with regular travel to Westminster and occasional UK travel. NASS represents and supports special schools across England and Wales. With 2025 set to be a pivotal year for SEND reform and the anticipated 2026 Schools White Paper, we are seeking a Policy and Research Intern to provide additional capacity to our small, ambitious team. This is a newly created role, offering a real opportunity to shape our work and help ensure NASS remains a strong voice for special schools. This is a hands-on role offering excellent experience in policy, research and public affairs. You will support media and policy monitoring, parliamentary tracking, research, briefings, communications and events.

And we're offering students the chance to intern in our Customer Experience Team — where you'll gain hands-on experience supporting tenant engagement, complaints analysis, and service improvement in a fast-paced dynamic organisation.
Your Role:
You'll apply your academic knowledge to real-world challenges – working alongside experienced Customer Experience professionals whilst gaining insight into tenant scrutiny, complaints trends, and service design. You'll develop a first-hand appreciation of how our Customer Insight team uses feedback to explore themes and outcomes that improve services — directly benefiting colleagues and tenants.
Your day to day will see you:
- Supporting communication with tenants through various channels to promote engagement and scrutiny opportunities.
- Assisting in the organisation of tenant meetings, ensuring accurate records are kept and actions are tracked to completion.
- Helping coordinate "deep dive" activities by collating data and analysing findings related to customer satisfaction and complaint trends.
- Contributing to the preparation of case studies and presentation materials that explore service improvement opportunities.
- Researching best practices in the housing sector and beyond to help improve how we handle complaints and engage with our communities.
What we're looking for:
- Currently studying (or recently completed) a degree in Social Policy, Business Management, Psychology, or another related discipline.
- Strong organisational skills and an interest in how customer feedback can drive business change.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly with a diverse range of stakeholders and tenants.
- An analytical mind with the ability to research information and summarise findings effectively.
- Enthusiasm, openness to feedback, and a genuine desire to learn.

You'll apply your academic knowledge to real-world challenges and help us achieve our environmental and social goals. Working alongside colleagues across our organisation, you'll gain hands-on insight into sustainability in the housing sector — from retrofit and decarbonisation projects to tenant awareness.
Your day to day will include:
- Supporting data collection and reporting on energy use, carbon emissions and sustainability performance.
- Contributing to research and development of initiatives around energy efficiency, renewable energy and waste reduction.
- Gaining exposure to projects focused on retrofit and improving the sustainability and energy efficiency of our homes.
- Helping create materials for communications campaigns that encourage sustainable behaviours among colleagues and tenants.
- Taking part in project work, mentoring and development activities as part of your internship.
What we're looking for:
- Currently studying (or recently completed) a degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Geography, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- A strong interest in climate change, sustainability, and social impact.
- Good analytical and research skills, with confidence using data.
- Ability to communicate findings clearly and engage others.
- Enthusiasm, openness to feedback, and a genuine desire to learn.

Your Role:
You'll apply your academic knowledge to real-world challenges – working alongside experienced Tenancy Services and Housing Management professionals, whilst gaining insight into how a career in the housing sector makes a direct difference to people's lives and communities. You'll gain exposure to areas such as anti-social behaviour casework, safeguarding, tenancy sustainment and housing law.
Your day to day will see you:
- Supporting tenancy services officers with case management and administrative tasks.
- Helping process tenancy change requests (e.g. mutual exchanges, assignments, successions).
- Assisting in monitoring and reviewing ASB or noise nuisance cases, including liaising with tenants.
- Accompanying officers on tenancy visits and inspections.
- Providing general support to the team with reports, records, and rota management.
- Taking part in project work, mentoring, and development activities as part of your internship.

- Currently studying (or recently completed) a degree in Housing, Criminology, Social Policy, Law, Sociology, or a related discipline.

Ataxia UK is in an exciting phase of expansion in its Fundraising activity, specifically regarding investment in a Philanthropy function with a dedicated member of staff. In the past, High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI) have been managed reactively by the CEO and other Fundraising staff as opportunities have arisen. Ataxia UK (AUK) now wants to make a step change, in response to identified potential within the current fundraising landscape, towards strategic management of a pipeline of HNWI. As part of this, AUK is looking to engage a consultant on a fixed term contract, to work closely with the Senior Philanthropy Manager to undertake comprehensive research & scoping, in order to populate a HNWI pipeline for AUK.
