Galapagos Conservation Trust (GCT) is looking for a proactive individual with good storytelling skills to produce fundraising applications and reports that inspire. As part of GCT’s Fundraising & Communications team, you will work closely with the Senior Development Manager to secure grant funding from Trusts & Foundations across our programme portfolio (including island restoration, community resilience, ocean protection and plastic pollution topics), with an increasing focus on securing multi-year funding to embed sustainability in our programme delivery.

You will be a great writer, researcher and comfortable working with numbers, enabling you to identify new fundraising opportunities and develop engaging proposals and reports with clear budgets. You will also be an organised individual with great attention to detail, ensuring you can effectively balance your time across competing deadlines and tasks.

We are looking for someone with: 

• 1-2 years proven experience in Trusts & Foundations fundraising. 

• Experience working with budgets in Excel. 

• Experience of working with a database and managing contact lists and records. 

Key responsibilities: 

• Increasing restricted & unrestricted income from Trusts & Foundations in line with GCT’s fundraising strategy with the Senior Development Manager 

• Supporting keeping our database, internal documents and files up-to-date and GDPR compliant for Trusts & Foundations and external contacts. 

• Producing high quality proposals and reports, ensuring consultation of key GCT team members and partners in their development, and submitting these to meet all deadlines. 

• Support the Senior Development Manager with applications for multi-year grants, such as writing and budget inputs, Theory of Change inputs and organising supplementary materials. 

• Helping to maintain excellent relationships with existing funders via bespoke outreach and thank you letters, project updates as appropriate, and semi-regular communications on GCT materials/events. 

• Proactively researching potential funders and supporting the Senior Development Manager and Senior Leadership Team members on their cultivation. 

• Reviewing fundraising success from Trusts & Foundations and developing annual fundraising plans with the Senior Development Manager. 

• Supporting the Senior Development Manager with Trusts & Foundations income and fundraising pipeline updates to GCT’s Senior Leadership Team and Trustees as required. 

• When grants are successful, lead or support the Senior Development Manager with handover actions to the Programmes team to ensure project budgets, timelines and donor expectations are clear.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable weather and climate scientist to join us at The Royal Meteorological Society (RMetS) as the Science Content and Engagement Officer.

Reporting to the Head of Publishing and Scientific Engagement, you will have responsibility for developing content which supports the Society’s member value proposition project, our partnerships, publishing and events programmes; and create engaging content for various RMetS activities and stakeholders.

You will support the delivery of the Society’s career strategy working alongside our education team; lead our ECR and Youth special interest group; deliver RMetS early career initiatives such as our career events; and support Society committees and team members in ensuring early career representation and involvement across our programmes of work.

What you will do in the role:

Content Development

· Collaborate on a strategic content plan for a members-only area.

· Identify content gaps and create, or coordinate with volunteers, the development of engaging pieces.

· Curate and preview existing editorial content to ensure a cohesive user experience.

Careers and ECR activity support

· Deliver youth and ECR initiatives across events, mentoring, publishing, and membership.

· Co-manage the Student Ambassador Scheme.

· Participate in ECR and Student Conference Committee.

Engagement activities across the Society’s programmes of work

· Commission journal content with Editors-in-Chief and collaborate with marketing teams to promote journal content.

· Help source speakers and attend Events Committee meetings.

· Support partnership projects, special interest group outputs, climate training, education initiatives, and other ad hoc activities.

Essential criteria you will need to demonstrate:

-       A background in weather and climate, either through:

-       A degree in a scientific field where weather and climate is the predominant subject matter; OR

-       A Master’s degree within a scientific field directly relevant to weather and climate

-       Broad knowledge across weather and climate, and evidence of involvement in activities to ensure ongoing current knowledge across diverse areas.

-       A confident and approachable communicator who proactively engages with a wide range of individuals and builds positive relationships across diverse audiences.

-       Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, professional documentation for external stakeholders.

-       A friendly and open-minded approach, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a small team.

-       Excellent organisational skills including the ability to manage time effectively, balance multiple projects with strong attention to detail.

-       Ability to think creatively, be innovative and embrace new ideas and ways of working.

Desirable skills

-      One year’s work experience post degree, or evidence of work experience/secondment.

-An understanding of how to go about developing and delivering scientific content/commissioning experience

Role Purpose

We have been operating Volunteer Centre Newcastle (VCN) since 2005. The Volunteer Centre provides a wide range of support, around all things volunteering, to over 1200 charities, organisations, and groups locally. We also support 2500+ members of the public each year, who are interested in volunteering and need some support to get started.

As our Volunteer Centre Officer, you will play an important role in promoting and supporting volunteering across Newcastle. You will help more people get involved in volunteering and make sure that volunteering is valued and recognised across the city.

Job Purpose:

This role sits within Family for Every Child’s (Family) Sustainability team, providing comprehensive support for all aspects of financial management.  The Finance Officer will work closely with the Secretariat, providing a central support function for the Sustainability, Impact, and Innovation teams.  This role will support the International Finance Manager (IFM) in building an internal finance function and will work with Family’s outsourced financial service provider in the UK to transition support in-house, ensuring efficient income and expenditure processing, reconciliation and reporting.

This role includes study support to become a qualified accountant (ACCA) with the potential for role development linked to successful exam progression. Family offers a study leave policy of 10 days over a rolling 12 month period (pro rata for part time staff).

Finance administration

• Principal point of contact for staff and suppliers (purchasing, expenses and payments).

About The Role

As a Grants and Learning Officer, you’ll be helping us to deliver our ambitious, nationwide grants programme. We currently support over 500 grassroots organisations and 18-30 year old creatives, and have a busy grants cycle to manage, alongside ever-increasing numbers of applications.

Core Purpose:
The Senior Mass Participation Events Officer will play a pivotal role in the development and delivery of Make-A-Wish UK’s mass participation events portfolio, most notably the London Marathon, as well as other third-party and Make-A-Wish owned products (e.g. walks, runs, virtual events).

This position will lead on event delivery, support new product development, and coordinate marketing and supporter journey planning. • Support the development and implementation of multi-year plans for mass participation events across a broad range of markets, activities and products.

• Provide informal mentoring and guidance to the Mass Participation Events Officer, supporting their development and ensuring consistency in delivery. Support the Officer with event logistics and delivery as needed.
• Maximise supporter engagement to meet income targets and KPIs at events. 
• Develop project plans, marketing plans and supporter journeys for a portfolio of mass participation events. 
• Attend Mass Participation events and represent Make-A-Wish in a professional manner. Be prepared to work some weekends and evenings where required. 
• Lead on event day logistics including the management of staff and volunteers. 

Monitoring and Evaluation 

• Monitor fundraising progress and approve partner invoices in alignment with the team’s budget and coding structure.
• Monitor event performance against agreed KPIs including recruitment targets, fundraising targets, and average fundraising per head. 
• Make data-informed decisions to optimise event delivery and supporter journeys, escalating strategic or high-risk issues to the Manager.
• Present results and learnings in monthly meetings with the wider Public Fundraising team and contribute to strategic reviews.
• Use learnings to feed into the ongoing development of the overall Mass Participation events strategy. 
• Be accountable for set income and acquisition targets, continually monitoring performance against targets, using initiative to spot opportunities for improvement and areas of growth and acting on these opportunities.
