What does this role do?
As a Senior Supporter Stewardship Agent, you will:

• oversee the daily operations of the Supporter Stewardship team, distributing work and ensuring work is delivered to a high standard,
• have meaningful conversations with our supporters and solve any complex queries that arise,
• liaise with other teams and departments to ensure supporter queries are resolved efficiently,
• train and upskill more junior members of the team, supporting them to deliver an excellent supporter experience.

To be successful in this role, you’ll be a confident communicator with an excellent telephone manner and the ability to build rapport with supporters, as well as the ability to handle complex customer queries swiftly and efficiently. Responsibilities and Person Specification:

The Senior Individual Giving Officer will play a pivotal role in driving unrestricted income growth from individual supporters at Independent Age. Working closely with the Individual Giving Manager, you will lead on the planning and delivery of supporter acquisition, retention and stewardship activity. You’ll take ownership of key projects and manage multi-channel campaigns and donor journeys that deepen engagement, reduce attrition, and maximise lifetime value. From heartfelt appeals to personalised touchpoints, you’ll ensure every supporter feels valued and connected to our mission.

You will bring experience in managing the planning, budget, set-up, delivery and reporting and analysis of integrated multi-channel digital, direct and offline campaigns and activities that meet and exceed KPI’s. Digital expertise and experience working in a test and learn environment are also key. You’ll have an agile mindset, with the ability to work both proactively and reactively depending on changing priorities.  You must have a passion for, and affinity with, Independent Age’s cause. 

This is a hands-on role with plenty of potential to design and input your own approaches, activities and stewardship to achieve income growth and bring to life the varied work of Independent Age, inspiring supporter loyalty and long-term support.

Overview / Purpose

The Research Events Coordinator plays a central role in the organisation's mission to build a world-leading Research Centre. This department coordinates, generates, and champions research activity across the organisation. The Research Events Coordinator contributes the Department's central mission to advance knowledge through the conception, creation, delivery, and dissemination of the highest quality research events aimed at the widest possible public and specialist audiences, undertaken through many diverse channels and through the organisation's local, national, and international research projects and partnerships.
The role holder provides efficient and effective administration and coordination of the organisation's annual programme of research events, organised by the Research Department in collaboration with research-active staff from across the institution. In coordination with other Research Department staff, in particular the Research Centre Manager, you are responsible for the overall planning, delivery, and archiving of all research events, both in-person and hybrid. This includes (but is not limited to): research seminars, exhibition colloquia, scholarly workshops, academic conferences, annual lectures, and other internal research events. You will also support the Centre's front-of-house duties and will provide administrative support for further research activity as deemed appropriate or suitable by the Head of Research.

Key Responsibility

Support the Research Centre Manager, Senior Research Lead, and Head of Research in:
Events Administration

• Attend meetings, take and circulate notes on event planning and preparation.
• Assist the Research Centre Manager, Senior Research Lead, Head of Research, and all other event-hosting staff with: coordinating Calls for Papers; liaising with speakers and collaborators; providing administration for all aspects of events planning.
• Book travel and accommodation for external speakers (and VIP attendees); attend any related invoices and ensure prompt payment of the same.
• Book venues and prepare rooms for conferences, seminars, and all other Research Centre events, e.g. arrange furniture, set up refreshments.
• Arrange, as necessary, all IT and AV support for events, including speaker and participant digital access for online events, facilitating practice sessions, and any livestreams and recording of events.
• Work at evening events (outside office hours) at the organisation or events hosted at external locations, as required (agreed in advance).
• Provide technical support at digital events, including setting up hybrid planning meetings between internal and external colleagues.

• Maintain the contacts/networks database as it relates to event attendees, speakers etc.

Communications and Advertising:

• Produce event copy, as required, for the website, e-newsletter for research networks, etc.
• Liaise with the Digital Team over online event pages on the website and over the booking system; monitor event bookings.
• Ensure that the web information about the Research Centre remains current; liaise with the Digital Team about web content.
• Maintain and develop the email list of subscribers to events mailings and to the newsletter.
• Co-ordinate the regular research email newsletter; liaise with content providers for the newsletter; produce event copy, as required, for e-newsletters for research networks, etc.
• Work with Digital and Creative Teams to create event templates for invitations that match the brand, the research theme and audience of the given event.
• Work to promote upcoming research events using internal and external advertising platforms, as appropriate.

Research Centre Administration:

• Provide front-of-house support to the Research Centre, as necessary.
• Attend and take and circulate notes, as required, at relevant committees/working groups for research.
• Work with Senior Research Lead and Research Centre Manager to carry out administration related to research projects, including assisting with budgets, processing invoices, securing image rights, publishing web content, liaising with external collaborators and visiting fellows, booking travel and accommodation and providing administration for all research project activities.

Key Required Skills

• Substantial experience of event management to coordinate projects and events, ideally within a large, multipart organisation.
• Ability to develop and manage detailed project timelines and workflows.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail (e.g. creating travel itineraries; making bookings; taking minutes of meetings; maintaining calendars and room booking systems).
• Proven track record in numeracy and financial data-handling experience; experience maintaining and managing information on a relational database.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

Beacon is now in its second decade and has grown substantially over the last three years, including a rebrand and expansion into international projects. To support this growth, we are seeking a highly organised, proactive, and intuitive Admin & Operations Officer to help ensure the smooth running of our daily activities and core functions.

This varied role spans many aspects of our work, from administration and resource management to supporting the systems and tools that keep Beacon working efficiently. You’ll work across the charity, supporting our executive leadership, projects teams, and fundraising activities, as well as and ensuring colleagues have the information and resources they need to deliver for our beneficiaries.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the charity and in supporting senior staff. As you settle into the role, you’ll have opportunities to develop skills in areas such as financial management, executive support, relationship management, stewardship, or project logistics, depending on your interests and the charity’s needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone at an early stage of their career, with full training and support provided. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Organisational administration

• Lead on day-to-day operational processes to ensure the efficient running of the organisation.
• Provide executive support to the CEO and COO, including diary coordination, scheduling, and meeting logistics.
• Oversee internal financial processes, including processing expenses and invoices, documenting charity income and outgoings, ensuring accurate record keeping, and liaising with our external accounting team.

Team-wide support

• Monitor and respond to incoming enquiries via phone, email, and the Contact Us form, ensuring timely and professional communication.
• Process and respond to volunteer applications, maintaining accurate records and liaising with applicants as required.

The Lab is now a well-recognised university-based think tank, running major projects including the Ecosystem Project, supporting leaders from across civil society to build their capacity and connect to government; This Place Matters, a major investigation into policies that might promote social cohesion; and Ordinary Hope, a project building new narratives and ideas around how Britain can be renewed from the ground-up.

About the role

The Lab is now working with Demos, a leading cross-party think tank and the Lloyds Bank Foundation on a collaborative project to celebrate community-led change across the country. The project will seek: (1) to connect an array of brilliant organisations creating new forms of public services and (2) write a narrative that puts this community-led innovation at the centre of broader efforts at rethinking how the state delivers for its citizens. The project will work with leaders across civil society, academia and the highest levels of politics to demonstrate the potential for community-led change to generate national renewal.

We are seeking a motivated individual to take on the role of Project Network Coordinator. They will report to the Director of the UCL Policy Lab and work closely with the team. The post is fixed term for the duration of nine months either full or part time with the possibility to be extended.

The post holder will be expected to work both at UCL but also on ad hoc occasions from the offices of our partner organisation, Demos.

About you

The UCL Policy Lab wishes to appoint a Project Network Coordinator to help draw together representatives of a vast array of community-based organisations currently innovating in public service reform. The Coordinator will support the project team to develop a core coalition to drive forward the work. The individual will work closely with both the UCL Policy Lab team, Demos and other project partners in the oversight and delivery of events that bring these organisations together so that they can share their experiences and expertise. The individual will also help oversee and coordinate the programme of high-level private workshops exploring the policy implications of these organisations' activities, providing extensive service support to attendees as well as supporting the project to build up a wide network of key stakeholders.

The individual will be crucial to designing and delivering a high-quality experience for the participants as well as ensuring that the dialogue builds overtime and its richness is fully captured and shared with senior stakeholders. The individual will also run the sessions and assist the Lab with both research and administrative support in the run up to the events.

The post holder will report directly to the Lab's Director but also work closely with the Policy Lab team.

The post holder must be able to work flexibly, independently and proactively.

Duties and responsibilities

• Work with Lab leadership to recruit members for a new network of community-led public service innovators from across the UK
• Support Lab and Demos leaders engagement with senior stakeholders in the national government and the opposition, as well as the local movement, to help share findings and drive political impact.
• Build relationships with the key individuals in this sector to understand their contributions and concerns and be able to share them with others
• Assist with the delivery of engaging collaborative workshops for members of this network and the project team.
• Conduct interviews with network members and draft policy briefs and memos for circulation to the broader network and the policy team.
• Track and report impact from the network for internal purposes, marketing and various evaluation processes (e.g., writing website content, newsletters and contributing to final reports)
• Work with the UCL Policy Lab team to help deliver operational support for the activities of the project, including: contributing to shared infrastructure and tools; working with the Communications and Engagement manager to deliver wider impact; working with the Team to co-ordinate delivering of world class policy events, including our party conference programme.
• Manage a front of house team at events including PhD students or equivalent on short term placements.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Executive Support

· Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted liaison for the Deputy Chief Executive, managing their calendar, commitments, and priorities with discretion and strategic foresight.

· Proactively coordinate complex diaries, internal and external meetings, and briefings, ensuring effective time management and optimal scheduling across teams and stakeholders.

Following our recent merger with the Armed Forces charity Care for Veterans in Worthing, we’re looking for a skilled and motivated Fundraising Assistant.

We are looking for someone committed to making a difference to our work and interested in developing a career in fundraising. We welcome experience gained outside the charity sector and are committed to supporting learning and development in this role.

This person must be passionate about delivering high levels of personalised care to a range of donors and have the ability to communicate effectively, while maintaining attention to detail to ensure the smooth delivery of the processes behind donor engagement. You must also be flexible and confident in providing wider support across the fundraising teams within the Royal Star & Garter group.

This is a hybrid role, with two days a week at our Worthing Home to build strong relationships and gain a deeper understanding of our work. There may also be occasional visits to outside events and to Royal Star & Garter’s other Homes as needed.

Purpose of the role

- To provide excellent customer care to all donors, delivering optimum supporter journeys working effectively with the wider team within the Royal Star & Garter (RSG) group 
- To manage all associated fundraising payment processes and procedures and work effectively with finance to manage safe and effective banking and reconciliations
- To provide fundraising support across the department and locations of our services in respect of a range of activities including fundraising events
- To support the High Value Events & Corporate Manager in time bound projects as and when necessary

Supporter care

- To be proactive in enabling the supporter journey with timely communications (phone, email and letters) and clear stewardship with both existing and new donors
- Ensure effective frontline support and response for donors across a range of incoming systems
- Ensure donation processes and procedures are adhered to and executed in a timely manner, in accordance with guidelines – updating those wherever required with approval by the RSG Fundraising Officer.
 
Donations and data entry

- Ensure that the fundraising CRM database is up to date and that supporters contact and financial data is accurate, including creating new records
- Complete weekly banking and allocation tasks in accordance with the approved process, liaising with the finance department to ensure that all batched income is allocated correctly
- Data inputting on the CRM to include: regular giving, importing income from external agencies including CAF and Just Giving, processing Gift Aid and accurately storing declarations
- Filing and management of paperwork, ensuring due diligence and security measures are followed.

Fundraising & volunteer support

- To provide active support to a range of events including: managing participants, sending information, monitoring online giving pages and on the day set up and pack down
- To directly source donated items and contributors to support fundraising events including raffle/auction prizes and coordinating suppliers, stallholders and entertainers 
- Coordinate and communicate with volunteers for events and corporate volunteering days and activities, ensuring they are briefed and supported
- To support any regular mailings or email contact to supporters, assisting with the cleaning and compliance of data once an agreed annual schedule is in place regular.

Other

- To manage all aspects of incoming fundraising post and dedicated inboxes along with outgoing mailings
- Ensure general department are kept up to date including attendance at meetings within RSG group wherever possible
- To be conversant with relevant fundraising legislation and the guidelines of the 
Fundraising Regulator and the GDPR
- To undertake other duties as may be required and which are consistent with the nature of the role.
