At Impetus we are looking for our next Director of Public Affairs, someone who can inspire our brilliant Public Affairs team and spearhead our communications, policy and research work. This is an exciting senior role, joining our Senior Management Team and working alongside our CEO, board, donors, supporters, portfolio partners and the wider sector to effect real change for young people.

This is an exciting time to join Impetus. A big part of that is through our public affairs and communications work; whether influencing policy makers so that all young people regardless of background get the best possible chance to succeed, reducing the gaps in education and employment between young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and their better off peers, or working with government and other funders to prove and expand impactful programmes or communicating our findings, insights and message to a wider range of audiences.

The Director of Public Affairs will work with the CEO and Senior Management Team to raise our profile and influence policy, unlock and steward resource and build new partnerships, in order to facilitate growth in impact. They will do this by getting the most out of our high performing Public Affairs team, which covers policy, research, advocacy and communications - as well as working across teams and with the Board to ensure Impetus is well positioned externally.

Key responsibilities

Fundraising and income generation

• Work with Impetus CEO and SMT to support the delivery of the Impetus strategy and business plan and deliver the public affairs milestones to time and within budget.
• Champion and contribute to embedding equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) across all areas of Impetus' work, ensuring that EDI principles related to Impetus’ mission are reflected in advocacy, stakeholder engagement, communications and public positioning.
• Vision setting and strong line management of the Public Affairs team, developing their capabilities, representing the team at SMT and to the Board and ensuring it continues to make a valuable - and valued - contribution to the achievement of Impetus’s objectives, through building and implementing high quality work plans for the team and ensuring the wider Impetus team is aligned on these.
• Increase awareness, understanding and trust in Impetus among key stakeholders, through regular, thoughtful engagement with the sector and securing high profile media coverage.
• Raise awareness of the education and employment gaps faced by young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and what we can do to break down the barriers they face - through research, policy positioning and effective communications.
• Build a positive reputation for Impetus in government and parliament and among funders, as a source of expertise on how to improve the education and employment outcomes of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and as a trusted interlocutor and partner, building on and leveraging the many relationships already established.
• Ensure that all advocacy is supported by high quality research and evidence, with our policy and research agenda well aligned to supporting the delivery of Impetus’ strategy.
• Ensure a positive media profile, continuing to build on the base established to build awareness among the media of Impetus’s expertise and content.
• Position Impetus as a ‘sought-after’ collaborative partner for other organisations with shared objectives; including regularly representing Impetus at relevant sector events.
• Support the delivery of our fundraising strategy and the successful delivery of our events programme, in particular, our flagship Transforming Lives Dinner.
• Where appropriate, collaborate with our portfolio partners to support their public affairs work and to leverage relevant partnerships, drawing on their insights to inform Impetus’ work.
• Contribute to the successful performance of the Senior Management Team, and provide expert advice to them, as well as to Trustees, on all public affairs-related activities and in the implementation of the broader strategy, engaging with decisions and challenges across the organisation.
• Oversee the running of our Public Affairs Committee (PAC), leveraging their skills, expertise and influence for the good of Impetus.

About the role:

The Deputy Director leads the strategic development and transformation of Family Action services across the Central region, and implements the organisation’s strategic plan and its 5 key objectives. The Deputy Director will be an excellent communicator, highly resilient, and a decision maker, while always championing Family Action’s values in delivering inclusive, outcome-focused support for children, families, young people and adults.

Main Responsibilities:

· Be accountable for service delivery across the region, contractual performance, safeguarding, quality assurance, risk management, ensuring services meet regulatory standards, delivering positive outcomes and embedding equality, diversity and inclusion in everything we do.

· Lead senior stakeholder engagement and foster strong cross-sector partnerships across the geographic area.

· Line manage Operational Managers, and an Assistant Director, oversee budgets to ensure efficient, cost-effective service delivery. Champion the sharing of learning, development of staff and volunteers and best practice across services to support continuous improvement and innovation.

We're looking for a Welfare Manager to take charge of the welfare journey for every dog in our centre. In this pivotal role, you will drive timely, compassionate decisions through expert behavioural and veterinary rehabilitation, ensuring each dog progresses toward their forever home. 

What does this role do?

As a Welfare Manager you will: 

• Lead, coach and develop a small team to deliver high-quality veterinary care and behaviour modification for dogs in our care.

Are you a strategic leader with a passion for building lasting relationships with supporters? We're looking for a Head of Individual Giving to join our amazing Fundraising team.

It's an exciting time to join the fundraising team at Prostate Cancer UK as we deliver on a new strategy. We've seen an upward trend in our fundraising income over the last decade and we're anticipating further growth in the next five years. We're introducing new roles to transform how we work and intentionally integrate our individual giving with our work across fundraising, brand and health awareness. You'll play a vital role within our successful mass fundraising function, helping us strengthen our propositions to acquire new supporters and secure long-term support.

In this key role, you'll be at the forefront of developing and delivering our individual giving strategy. You'll lead on the acquisition of new supporters and work to diversify our channels based on supporter insights. A crucial part of your work will be to create and deliver engaging supporter journeys across all touchpoints, ensuring our donors are at the heart of everything we do.

You'll oversee our legacy marketing program and review our legacy stewardship, strengthening long-term relationships with people who intend to leave a gift in their will. Working with both internal teams and external agencies, you'll develop and deliver high-quality, compelling propositions.

As a leader, you'll provide guidance and support for the Individual Giving team, helping to deliver our ambitious fundraising strategy. We’re looking for an experienced leader with a strong track record of growing income from individual supporters. We’re seeking someone who is both strategic and hands-on, comfortable with business planning, budgeting and forecasting, while also using testing and analysis to refine approaches and improve performance. You’ll be skilled at managing budgets and suppliers effectively, with a sound understanding of data protection and fundraising regulation, ensuring all activity is delivered to the highest standards. You’ll have experience of managing risk and navigating challenging situations, like how to develop supporters beyond being a one-off donor. You’ll bring a reliable voice as the subject matter expert for individual giving.

We are seeking an experienced Trusts and Foundations fundraiser to join our team at Power2, a fast growing and energetic youth charity.

You will lead on fundraising from Trusts and Foundations and be responsible for relationships, applications and reporting to major Trust and Foundation funders. You’ll lead internal processes for prospect research and have oversight of a growing portfolio of potential and existing donors. You will ensure a consistent pipeline of applications to meet your performance indicators and collate information from across the organisation to produce funder reports.

 You will have significant and demonstrable experience of fundraising from major Trusts and Foundations. You will have excellent project management skills, be skilled at writing compelling funding bids, be highly numerate and a great team player and collaborator. Previous experience or interest in the youth or education charity sector would be an advantage.

We operate hybrid working, and this role can be based at either our North-West (Ashton-under-Lyne) or London office, with at least two days working in the office per week. We offer flexibility as to when the role’s hours are worked, and exact working patterns can be discussed at interview.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring proven experience in managing high-value relationships across corporate partnerships, major donors, trusts & foundations, and statutory bodies. You'll have a strong track record of securing and growing long-term partnerships, including successfully negotiating six or seven-figure sums with corporate partners and/or major donors. You'll bring outstanding communication and relationship-building skills, with a proven ability to engage high-value supporters and collaborate effectively across diverse stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the corporate, trust & foundation, major donor and other high value supporter strategies.
• Manage and develop the Rapid Response Network, retaining existing partnerships whilst also identifying and securing new partnerships.
• Deliver excellent stewardship that retains and develops support.
• Take to completion and implement recommendations from strategic projects, to include the major donor review and the RRN / corporate support review.
• Continually hone “next appeal” plans that lead to successful appeal launches and maximise funds raised throughout the appeal life cycle.
• Achieve annual core cost income targets and put in place robust forecasting for future years.

MAP is in a period of growth and rapid development, and as such, the incoming Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be responsible for the financial strategy and management of MAP and for the leadership of operational areas to help deliver the organisation’s mission and strategic goals. The COO provides support to the CEO in areas of governance, legal and risk management and may deputise for the CEO as required.

About You
The ideal candidate will have Relevant post-graduate business degree preferred. Minimum 10 years’ experience in a senior management role ideally with in-house financial management experience gained in a high-growth organisation. Experience either as an employee or board member of a non-profit organisation; must be familiar with non-profit finance and accounting regulations. Proven track record of success facilitating progressive organisational change and development within a growing organisation. Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

Responsibilities

Strategy, vision and leadership

• Be accountable to the CEO and Board in the areas of finance, technology, risk and compliance, supply chain and logistics, and safety and security.
• Advise the CEO and SMT on all these areas as well as on legal, governance and related policy matters.
• Work closely with SMT colleagues to ensure that appropriate processes and systems are in place across the organisation, including delivery against KPIs.
• Serve as the management liaison to the Finance & Operations Committee, Audit Risk & Governance Committee and, where required, to the Board of Trustees; effectively communicate and present critical matters under their responsibility at governance meetings.
• Ensure robust, secure and scalable IT systems and infrastructure. Lead on information governance & data protection and identify and drive opportunities for digital transformation.
• Provide strategic leadership for supply chain management at MAP to ensure an efficient, effective and accountable supply chain policies and practices that meet MAP’s needs.
• Ensure a robust framework and system for identifying, assessing and mitigating risks across thenorganisation in line with MAP’s risk appetite.
• Lead on the development of MAP’s strategic goals and objectives in all areas of responsibility and contribute to the development of other goals as well as the overall management of the organisation.
• Work with direct reports to ensure the delivery of an effective strategy in all areas of responsibility.
• Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping the CEO informed of all critical issues.
• Lead cross-organisational projects in line with organisational strategy and direction.

Team development/leadership

• Oversee, direct, and organise the work of the teams under their responsibility.

• Ensure staff members receive timely and appropriate training and development, to facilitate continual improvement as individuals and as a team.
• Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, and conduct annual performance appraisals.
• Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach and motivate the team to be innovative and professional in its thinking and delivery.

Operations

• Upgrade and implement an appropriate system of policies, internal controls, standards, and procedures.
• Ensure annual audits, budgets, and reports in all areas of operations are produced in an accurate and timely manner for SMT, the Board, and Board sub-committees.
• Ensure strong internal controls, risk management and regulatory compliance, including with UK Charity Commission standards, donor requirements and legal and regulatory requirements in countries and territories of operation.
• Build a culture of continuous improvement in operations and ensure appropriate and timely action to address operational risks when they arise.
• Provide analytical support to the CEO and SMT including development of internal management reporting capabilities.

About the Role

The Cybersecurity Officer will support the Cybersecurity Manager in protecting the charity’s digital assets and ensuring compliance with internal security policies and relevant international standards. This role will assist in implementing, monitoring, and maintaining cybersecurity controls across our technology environment, and is ideal for someone early in their cybersecurity career with a strong willingness to learn and contribute to meaningful humanitarian work.

Please note this is a FTC role for 6 months 

About You

Candidate should have a Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience) with Up to 2 years of experience in an IT or cybersecurity role (internships or volunteer roles considered).  Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and technologies, including antivirus, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access control. Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365 security stack, including Defender and Intune.  Hands-on experience with any of the following: Ubiquiti, SharePoint, Egress, or Cloudflare.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of cybersecurity tools and controls (e.g., 
endpoint protection, firewalls, secure email gateways, MFA, etc.).
• Monitor security alerts and reports from tools like Microsoft Defender, Bitdefender, 
WatchGuard, and Cloudflare, escalating potential incidents to the Cybersecurity 
Manager.
• Support user access management and ensure policies for identity and access control 
are followed using systems like SSO and Intune.
• Help manage and track security awareness initiatives (e.g., phishing simulations via 
SoSafe).
• Assist in vulnerability scanning and basic risk assessments across networks and 
systems.
• Contribute to incident response efforts under the guidance of the Cybersecurity 
Manager.
• Document findings, maintain logs, and support audit and compliance activities.
• Collaborate with IT and wider organisation to ensure security controls do not hinder 
mission delivery.
• Participate in routine system checks and contribute to the improvement of 
cybersecurity procedures and documentation.
