Title of Post: Financial Assistant
Responsible to: Head of HR & Administration
Hours: 32 hours per week
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The main responsibility of this role is to assist the Head of Resources in the efficient and smooth running of financial functional activities of the charity.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Process and prepare financial and business forms for the purpose of checking account balances, facilitating purchases, etc.
2. Perform routine calculations to produce analyses and reports as requested by the Head of Resources and assisting in developing and maintaining all financial reporting within the charity.
3. Assisting in the preparation and maintenance of the charity’s annual income and expenditure budget.
4. Assisting in monthly bank reconciliations and other balance sheet accounts.
5. Dealing with finance related queries from staff, senior management, supporters, and suppliers.
6. Maintenance and reconciliation of direct debits, standing orders and other online donations.
7. Supporting the financial controller in the planning and preparation of statutory accounts and the annual audit.
8. Ensuring accurate gift aid records are maintained for supporters and conducting the annual gift aid claim.
9. Assisting in the maintenance of all accounting records on an ongoing basis to ensure:.
a. All income and expenditure are properly approved, banked and processed in a timely manner.
b. Monthly cash/cheque management and bank reconciliations are carried out and recorded.
10. Undertaking any other accounting duties that may be required and providing cover when other staff are absent.

Job Purpose
The International Finance Manager works closely with the Director of Finance & Corporate Resources to oversee financial management of the UK Charity and its international subsidiaries.

Our partner, an international charity, seeks an interim finance manager to support the international finance team. The successful candidate will be an all-rounder, with experience in preparing consolidated annual accounts, management accounts, whilst being hands on and taking on transactional elements of the role.
Responsibilities
- Day to day accounting and administration, including posting transactions; payment of suppliers and staff expenses; international bank transfers to overseas country offices; setting up and processing regular giving payments, and processing one off donations; banking; and process monthly payroll.

Requirements
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant with all-round experience working in a small team within an international charity. Experience of leading on the production of annual consolidated accounts as per charity SORP in the UK, management accounts & analysis, and managing day-to-day accounting and administrative tasks.

- Strong business partnering skills, able to work with finance and non-finance staff in the UK and overseas offices, budget holders and liaise with third parties, including banks and auditors.

Duties and responsibilities
The Income Supervisor will manage all transactions relating to income, assisted by a Finance Assistant (income support), and working closely with the Senior Finance Assistant, and Finance Assistant (payments support). The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing the work delegated to the Finance Assistant (income support), reporting to, and supporting the Financial Controller.
Experience required
Proven experience in high level communication skills, both verbally and in writing are essential plus a proven ability in developing positive relationships with organisations and individuals across diverse cultures. Understanding of accounts to trial balance, excellent reconciliation skills, knowledge of accounting software and supervisory experience. A studier or part-qualified accountant is desirable, but a good level of general education and experience and a keen interest in aspects of the role would also be welcomed.
Conditions
The post is graded C1 which covers steps 14 to 19 on the ITF salary scale, with a salary range of £49,787.00 per annum plus an annual bonus of £4,148.92. Annual leave will be 22 days per annum pro-rata in the year of joining, rising to 23 days in the second year.

The WASH Systems and Programme Partnerships Senior Manager is a senior leadership role within the Programme Support and Knowledge (PSK) team that sits within the International Programmes Department of WaterAid (UK). You will be a member of the PSK senior leadership team.
In this role, you will provide the vision and the steer to the team in providing high quality and impactful WASH systems advisory support, guide the development and refreshment of the organisational framing, guidance and standards materials. The role will also provide leadership in steering and convening the organisational best practice in developing and shaping strategically focused programme partnerships and alliances for effective collective action. This includes guiding our work on the relative roles of the public and private sector in WASH, particularly evolving our work on Sanitation and Water Operator Partnerships (SWOPs).

- Extensive and broad experience in WASH development in developing countries, demonstrated through a solid career record, with specific knowledge and skills in strengthening WASH systems and effective programme partnerships, across multiple contexts.

- Demonstrated experience of developing impactful programme partnerships and solid understanding of collective action in practice.
- Substantial experience public / private sector approaches and models for effective and sustainable WASH services.

We are an agile social enterprise looking for a qualified Finance Manager to manage and operate our existing finance function. Working flexibly from home, you will perform a core role in our small, friendly virtual team helping to maintain financial stability and control as we focus on our mission to deliver successful projects across a range of settings globally. You will report to the Strategy Director. DOTWUK have a fun and friendly finance team in a small, but high-performing function and are looking for a collaborative, experienced and energetic leader for the role of Head of Finance.
In this exciting role, the successful candidate will provide the organisation with a timely, accurate and relevant financial management service by assuming day-to-day responsibility for the organisation’s accounting function, to enable the senior management team and the Board of Trustees to assess results and performance and make informed, strategic decisions, and ensure the organisation complies with statutory and corporate regulation and requirements.
You will work closely with the treasurer, directors and managers to enable them to manage their programme finances and support them to report to donors and to devise sound plans for growth and sustainability.
The UK chapter expects to grow income across all sources, including from institutions and foundations. You will play a critical role in maintaining and building on this success.
You will also be responsible for and provide input from a financial and management perspective on strategic development and the general organisation-wide structure and management as part of the Senior Management Team.

The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

Preparation of monthly accounts using Quickbooks Intuit (QB) software

Preparation of payroll journals in QB in respect of the UK salaries
