About the role:

The Specialist Housing Advocate will work within a dynamic, fast paced team to provide intervention, advocacy and support that empowers women and ensures that the voice of survivors informs every stage of their journey towards improved safety. This is a new and exciting service, and we are looking for someone passionate about ensuring that all survivors of domestic abuse are able to access safe and appropriate accommodation which meets their needs.

To be successful as Specialist Housing Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:

You will have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on survivors and their children, and of best practice within the domestic abuse and housing sectors. You will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. The post holder will hold a caseload of survivors and will also be required to support Advance’s duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support.

About the Role 

Building on an 8-figure philanthropic commitment made by Oak Foundation, the Development Manager will play a key role in securing the long-term viability and success of the Migrant Futures Institute. Main duties

• Experience managing external communications with senior stakeholders

As Philanthropy and Strategic Foundations Executive, you will manage and grow a portfolio of four-to-five-figure philanthropic and trust-based partnerships, delivering flexible income to support our global and UK programmes.

You will lead our Major Donor Programme and Supporting Trust Portfolio, building and nurturing long-term relationships to deepen engagement and secure ongoing support.

Alongside fundraising, you will provide essential administrative, financial, and project co-ordination support to the wider Partnerships for Impact function, ensuring the delivery of high-quality donor experiences.

• Manage and grow a portfolio of philanthropists and trusts, fostering meaningful, long-term relationships to maximise income and impact 

• Deliver flexible funding targets by leading the Major Donor Programme and Supporting Trusts Portfolio, with a focus on donor stewardship and retention 

• Support the Philanthropy & Strategic Foundations team with day-to-day operations, administration and project co-ordination to ensure high-quality delivery

Ways of Working:

The majority of our roles can be performed remotely in the UK, but there are likely to be times when you will be required to come to your contracted office (up to 2-4 days per month or 6-8 days per quarter).  This will be agreed with your Line Manager and team and is intended to be time spent on collaborating with colleagues and relationship building. 

Please note: travel costs to your contracted office will be at your own expense.

World Jewish Relief created the Specialist Training and Employment Programme (STEP) for refugees in 2016 and today we are the largest provider of specialist employment support to refugees in the UK. 

STEP aims to improve integration for refugees through a targeted employment programme that addresses the complex barriers refugees face in preparing for, and ultimately finding, work in the UK. We support all refugees, regardless of their proximity to the labour market, to develop the skills and identify the opportunities they need to secure sustainable employment.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Programme Manager to manage and develop our successful STEP Forward programme, which focuses specifically on reducing the barriers faced by women refugees and supporting them make informed decisions about their lives and continued integration pathways. This role will focus on developing STEP Forward, building and implementing new initiatives using robust evidence and MEL to improve the programme, securing funding and general management of the programme to ensure it meets KPIs.

About you

We are looking for candidates who have:

• Demonstrable experience of managing livelihoods programming, ideally within the refugee or migration sector
• Demonstrable experience of working on programmes supporting women
• Understanding of the barriers faced by refugee women
• Experience supporting and working alongside delivery partners
• Demonstrable experience of monitoring and evaluation processes
• Experience leading teams and supporting staff development
• Advanced knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Office and CRM databases
• Understanding of the issues and challenges faced by people with experience of forced migration in accessing employment
• Experience in grant management, including reporting requirements and managing budgets
• Proficiency in data analysis and using data to drive decision making
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with partners
• Cross-cultural sensitivity
