The Royal Commonwealth Society is seeking a highly organised, proactive, and experienced events manager to lead the planning and execution of its diverse portfolio of high-profile and fundraising events. The postholder will manage the full lifecycle of events - from concept through delivery - ensuring every event reflects the Society’s values and enhances its reputation and reach.

Flagship events include the Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey, an Award Ceremony for The Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition at Buckingham Palace, the High Commissioners’ Banquet at Mansion House, and other ceremonial, stakeholder, youth, and fundraising engagements.

Key responsibilities: 

• Lead the end-to-end management of all RCS events, ensuring the successful delivery of high-profile, ceremonial, and fundraising events.
• Oversee event planning, including venue sourcing, contract negotiation, supplier coordination, protocol, security, AV, catering, and staffing.
• Manage the delivery of the Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey, ensuring coordination with the Royal Household, Westminster Abbey, the BBC, and government departments.
• Deliver a Commonwealth Concert as a key fundraising and engagement event, managing all artistic, production, and logistical elements.
• Organise the High Commissioners’ Banquet at Mansion House, coordinating with the City of London Corporation, the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council, diplomatic missions, and keynote speakers.
• Support other public-facing events, including those connected to The Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition, and the Commonwealth Clean Oceans Plastics Campaign.
• Prepare and manage budgets, ensuring events are delivered on time and within financial parameters.
• Oversee guest and stakeholder management, including invitations, RSVP tracking, VIP handling, seating plans, and pre-event briefings.
• Prepare comprehensive briefing materials for events, including biographies, guest lists, and running orders, ensuring accuracy and alignment with protocol requirements.
• Draft and coordinate speaking notes for key participants and speakers, tailored to the event’s purpose, audience, and messaging objectives.
• Maintain and update key documentation, including event timelines, run sheets, contact lists, and risk assessments.
• Support post-event evaluation, producing summary reports and identifying lessons learned.
• Assist in fundraising endeavours such as grant writing and donor stewardship.
• Other duties as and when required.

Embedded in the work of the Programme Department, the Communications and Marketing Manager is responsible for designing and delivering on communications and marketing plans designed to amplify our brand messages, and raise awareness of our mission with partners, and beneficiaries and help us achieve our vision.

This is a hands-on, operational role ideal for someone with significant experience of leading on communications activities, who thrives in a small team and enjoys delivering against long-term plans and managing day-to-day priorities. You’ll lead the delivery of all aspects of communications and marketing - from planning campaigns and managing social media to producing content and supporting fundraising efforts.

As well as working with the Programme Department to support and promote the work of our local partner programmes, the role will also create and maintain mechanisms to ensure all of our staff are informed and engaged with the full scope of our work and impact we enable.

About the role

As our Regional Technical Adviser – Climate Resilient WASH, you will ensure the high technical quality of our climate resilient WASH programmes in the region and work closely with Country Programmes, partners and stakeholders to drive sustainable change.

In this role, you will:

• Provide technical guidance, quality assurance and support to country programmes including for climate resilient WASH programming, system strengthening and the sustainability of WASH services.
• Implement capacity building initiatives to enhance competencies of staff, partners and stakeholders to deliver sustainable and climate resilient WASH programming.
• Build and strengthen strategic partnerships, the knowledge base and thought leadership in WASH and climate resilient programming through networking, knowledge sharing and advocacy.
• Support country programmes to integrate and prioritise WASH Climate Resilient measures in key national policies, strategies, and planning frameworks such as NAPs and NDCs.
• Champion WaterAid’s commitment to equity, inclusion and safeguarding.

Requirements

To be successful, you will need:

• Extensive, relevant professional experience at a senior level in climate resilient, WASH-related programmes and policy advocacy for LMIC countries in rural, urban and climate affected contexts.
• Demonstrated experience in strengthening WASH systems and understanding of the WASH sector’s interaction with other systems such as climate change, health, urban planning.
• Excellent and up to date knowledge of technologies, approaches, technical standards and guidelines related to climate resilient and sustainable WASH relevant to South Asia and how to practically apply these to programming.
• Significant experience of working in a technical capacity at senior level in the South Asia region, preferably in at least one of the countries in which WaterAid operates.
• Willingness and ability to travel regionally, specifically to country programmes in Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan, and internationally (sometimes at short notice).

Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have:

• A chartered membership with a recognised professional association in a relevant technical field.
• Proven experience of stakeholder engagement that include government, private sector, and donors with high level of influencing skills.
• Good understanding and experience in National Adaptation Planning (NAP) and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) revision and implementation, climate finance processes, modalities, and sources.

Leading a team of 4, the Head of Group FP&A sits at the heart of Group and Global Finance, and leads Group MI, Reporting, Planning and Forecasting across the organisation. The Social Care IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy, and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process, specialising in working with women whose families are involved with Family Children Services and risk to children is a factor. You will work to make proactive contact and provide high quality advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women, focusing on working with those aged 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. This role is part advocacy, part training/education and project work to improve response to victim/survivors experiencing domestic abuse. You will be embedded in the local authority Family Children Services team, working with Social Care professionals to ensure they adopt a trauma informed approach, can recognise the dynamics of domestic abuse and are providing more holistic support. You will be the domestic abuse subject matter expert on site, upskilling fellow professionals and acting as a point of contact for any clients experiencing domestic abuse and support requirements from Family Children Services.

The borough has a focus on prioritising and developing good DA work in social care and this is an opportunity to be a major player in institutional change, ensuring that women accessing Family Children services for their children have an improved experience and that the local authorities are leading the way for all survivors engaging with their services.

Advance delivers nationally accredited, quality marked services in Hammersmith & Fulham, Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea, Brent, Ealing, and across parts of East London. We work within a coordinated partnership response to domestic violence to provide independent domestic violence advocacy and support for women, children and young people and women’s community services for women who are involved in the criminal justice system, in anti-social behaviour or are at risk of breaking the law.

About You:

You will have an excellent understanding of domestic violence and its effects on women and children and of best practice within the domestic abuse in various areas of need, with particular knowledge on children safeguarding/legislation. As an experienced domestic violence advocate who has worked with complex and multiple needs, the post holder will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. Experience of direct work with female survivors of domestic violence, of supporting women with child safeguarding, needs, and of working within safeguarding procedures is essential for this post, as is the need to adopt and promote a strong partnership approach to service provision.

To be successful as the Social Care IDVA you will need the below experience and skills:

You will establish positive, proactive, and innovative working relationships with housing services and partner agencies. Provide high-quality crisis intervention, information, advocacy, and proactive support to women referred to the service, in respect to risk management and safety planning, criminal and civil remedies, housing, health, welfare rights, and children’s legislation.

Your abilities extends to assessing the needs and risks of survivors, carry out short and longer-term risk management, safety planning and support and identify and refer to services appropriate to their needs. Advising women of their rights and options for seeking help and support from other agencies and proactively advocate to ensure barriers to accessing support and protection are reduced. You will work as an advocate and educator to raise awareness and upskill professionals within Children Social Care plus work with colleagues to successfully develop and deliver training.

Main Duties

• Manage a portfolio of grants from key Trusts, Foundations and statutory funders. Ensure that funders are aware of project performance, and that ClientEarth’s implementation is always in compliance with grant agreements. 
• Develop and produce well researched and comprehensive proposals and reports to existing donors that meet funding priorities and requirements, within the submission deadline and oversee the coordination of Programme, Development and Finance teams as required for effective grant management. 
• Work closely with the Global Head of Grants, Grants Management Lead and wider Development Leadership on budget forecasts and donor pipeline to ensure effective, joined-up cultivation of prospects and income generation. 
• Oversee, review and, as appropriate, sign–off on the work of line managed staff (including reports, proposal, and other written material for internal and external purposes). 
• Support the Global Head of Grants to develop and implement the team’s annual planning and wider fundraising strategy.

Details

Our café is an important part of the gallery, and our Cafe Team Leader is responsible for providing a welcoming, friendly environment, serving a high quality menu with excellent customer service. This is an operational and hands on role where the large majority of time is spent planning and preparing the café food and drinks and interacting with the general public. The Chef Manager is also responsible for the supervision and the rota management of our café staff and will collaborate closely with our Head of Commercial to maximise profits and further develop the Café in line with the Gallery’s aims and objectives.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Team Leadership in a café or restaurant environment.
• A passion for preparing good quality fresh food with the drive to create new recipes and experiment with new ideas that respond to the Gallery’s programme.
• Menu development experience, with the ability to change and adapt depending on visitors’ feedback.
• Excellent eye for detail and food presentation, a passion for artful food creation.

• Level 2 or over NVQ Qualification or equivalent.
• Qualifications in Level 2 Hygiene, Food Allergens Awareness and Working in Licensed Premises. Willingness to train to Level 3.
• Barista experience, making a range of coffees and hot drinks.
• Understanding of Allergens and dietary requirements.
• Experience of negotiating prices with new suppliers.

• Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative and without supervision.

Post holders will be expected to undertake holistic assessment of need both remotely (over the telephone and online) and when required in person across their region. You will be expected to work with individuals who may have complex and sometimes challenging welfare needs, assisting them by identifying appropriate support from within both the RAF Benevolent Fund and the wider statutory and military charity sector, ensuring that support is made available to meet their need through the case working process. 

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a social welfare role supporting individuals and will have strong people and relationship-building skills, as well as empathy with or understanding of issues affecting the Armed Forces community.

This is home based and the candidate must have their own vehicle for use of traveling around the region covered. Occasional travel to London will be required. The successful candidate for this role will need to be Enhanced DBS checked and prove they have the right to work in the UK.

Meet your Manager

In this role, you will be managed by Lydia Baker. Lydia joined ClientEarth in August 2024 and in her role as a Grants Manager is responsible for managing relationships with key funders. Lydia has worked in the NGO sector for over eight years and has expertise in a variety of functions including grant management, programme management, communications and monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning.  On a day-to-day basis you will work closely with Lydia as part of an established Grants Team that sits within the Development Department at ClientEarth.

Main Duties

• Funding portfolio management - Have a close and in-depth knowledge of their grants portfolio, including a sound understanding of the philanthropic, institutional and statutory funding mix;
• Internal and external communications - Meet with Trust, Foundation and Institution portfolio managers to discuss proposals, provide updates on the programmatic work, and to formally report back on financial, organisational and technical issues; 
• Project management - Effectively manage reporting and the grant renewal process from start to completion including working with multiple teams across ClientEarth’s European and international offices to ensure input from all avenues to complete proposals and reports in a timely and high-quality manner; and 
• Financial planning and budget handling - Work with Finance and Programmes staff to develop individual budgets for funding proposals
• Systems and processes - Maintain funder database systems (Raiser’s Edge) and other organisational databases (SharePoint) on a daily basis

The British Academy – the UK’s national body for the humanities and social sciences – is seeking an ECRN Training and Development Officer to join our busy and friendly Early Career Research Network team, providing key support in the delivery of the British Academy Early Career Researcher Network and the Wellcome-funded Leadership and Advancement SHAPE Programme.

The role

This is a key role in ensuring the smooth operational delivery of a wide range of training programmes and workshops, both online and in person, for early career researchers across the UK and internationally.

We are looking for an effective communicator and team player, confident in liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including training providers, course participants, network members, and partner organisations. You will take responsibility for coordinating event logistics, maintaining participant records, preparing communications, and ensuring that training materials are kept up to date and accessible.

A core duty of the role will be supporting the delivery of engaging and inclusive training opportunities, helping to identify and address the diverse needs of participants. This will involve working collaboratively to improve processes, providing feedback on participant experiences, and contributing to the development of new training initiatives. You will also play an important role in promoting training programmes, assisting with the recruitment of participants, and supporting a strong sense of community across the Network.

This role will require occasional travel to regional cluster events across the UK, as well as hosting online sessions. A proactive, organised, and adaptable approach is essential, alongside excellent time management skills to juggle multiple events and priorities.

The British Academy – the UK’s national body for the humanities and social sciences - is seeking a Membership and Training Assistant to join the Early Career Researcher Network (ECRN) team, supporting the delivery of our inclusive, researcher-led network for early career researchers working across the SHAPE disciplines.

The role

The ECRN Membership and Training Assistant will play a key role in providing administrative support for the Early Career Research Network. The role holder will work closely with the ECRN team and will interact with researchers, universities and other stakeholders, as well as academic Fellows and colleagues from across the Academy.

You will support the ECRN Membership Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Network’s membership function. Key responsibilities include monitoring membership workflows, responding to member enquiries in a timely and professional manner, and serving as a primary point of contact for early career researchers interested in joining the Network. 

The primary focus of this role will be managing membership and data-related activities, but you will also be providing administrative and logistical support for the Leadership and Advancement Programme and wider Network as required.

You will be confident using Microsoft Office programmes daily, such as Outlook, Excel and Teams and will be supporting with online events through Zoom. You will have to keep membership records up to date on our CRM database, Salesforce and communicate with our members.

The role holder will gain a proficient understanding of our membership policies and procedures and support the management of our online community platform.

You will be expected to travel across the UK from time to time to attend events and meetings with our delivery partners and other key stakeholders where appropriate.
