It Gets Better UK envisions a world where all LGBTQ+ youth are free to live equally and know their worthiness and power as individuals. We strive to tell the stories of LGBTQ+ people and to provide positive and reassuring messages to LGBTQ+ youth.
The It Gets Better Project was founded in 2010 in America. Since then, affiliated charities have been formed in over 20 different countries. We are now at the exciting stage of continue to grow and develop the UK affiliate having formally launched in October 2018.
Join our network of Regional Ambassadors to help promote It Gets Better UK, to inspire and engage with members of their local LGBTQ+ communities to get involved, and to help fundraise.
We're particularly looking for new Ambassadors in Scotland at present - especially those who can help us have a presence at Pride events this summer. So far, we're planning to attend Edinburgh Pride on June 22.
What will I be doing?

Raise awareness of It Gets Better UK and our work through talking to members of the LGBTQ+ community in your area, and on social media

Look after our information and fundraising stands at local events – most importantly, hosting an It Gets Better UK Pride stall in your local area. Members of the It Gets Better team will support you with sign-up admin and capacity on the day. So far, we're planning to attend Edinburgh Pride!

Support other members of the It Gets Better UK volunteer team to deliver events in their area by adding capacity where possible, and within a distance that suits you – for example, helping out at a Pride stall run by another Ambassador nearby.

Deliver talks to local LGBTQ+ groups, community groups, schools etc about the work of It Gets Better UK and how they could help us achieve our goals

What is the time commitment?
This is a flexible role and the times may vary, but we would expect you to spend at least two hours a week on your role. We ask Regional Ambassadors to be available for Pride events over the summer: this means some half/full day activities over the summer period, usually on Saturdays. You’ll be able to sign up for days which suit you. Regional Ambassadors are appointed for up to two years. Regional Ambassadors will have a monthly online meeting with their It Gets Better UK point of contact.

Where will I be based?
This role is based within your local area, with some travel at your discretion and with expense reimbursement pre-agreed over the summer, to support the team’s efforts at Pride.

This is an exciting time to be joining the Board of BMS World Mission. As a trustee, you will be joining at a time of transformation. The phenomenal growth of the Church in the Majority World is arguably the most significant development in Christianity in the 21st century. While the Church in the West has struggled, in Africa, Asia and Latin America it thrives. This reality has presented unprecedented opportunities for the spread of the gospel, as mission becomes from everywhere to everywhere.

We are particularly interested in trustees coming from the Majority World as we want to increase the diversity of our board so that it becomes more representative. Please note that this is a voluntary position.

Our english program for native childrens takes place in marginalized communities in the Central Andes of the Central Andes of Peru giving these children the opportunity to gain basic English skills that can help in their future education and increase your employability, as well as being open to more general knowledge.
one of our objectives is to teach this language, especially to children, as a means of self-improvement and education, since they lack the financial resources necessary to learn English.
This program will provide the opportunity for many children from populations that live in extreme poverty and will not have the opportunity to study in a private school, we develop classes from basic pronunciation materials, sentences, colors, communication, verbs and other important subjects. In addition, it is a way to improve the level of Spanish that the volunteer has, due to the continuous interaction of languages, all of this developed in a direct, entertaining and fun way.

Action Village India
Action Village India (AVI) is a small, UK-based charity that fundraises for Indian NGO partners to deliver programmes that will best assist the poorest and most marginalised sections of communities in rural India. AVI supports campaigns for social justice and equality on Gandhian principles of nonviolence.
You will be working hand-in-hand with a small and very agile team in the London office and as such the internship will be a fantastic opportunity to ground yourself in the basics of charity day-to-day administration, communication and event fundraising.
Working Information:
Location: London – Dalston Junction
Hours: 2 days per week plus attendance at WOMAD Festival 24-29th July 2024
Duration: 8-10 weeks. Internship to start early June (negotiable) and ending in the first week of August.

Job Purpose:
This internship will focus on developing an exhibition for WOMAD festival that highlights the work on Action Village India, and support the team during the weekend of WOMAD festival.
The biggest fundraising event we hold every year is Madras Café, held at Womad Festival at the end of July. Madras Café began its life as a Chai and leaflet stall over 30 years ago to help educate people about Action Village India and the difficulties people in rural India faced; today it is an established festival institution serving delicious Indian food to over 4000 people over three days. The Action Village India team holds a stall in the Madras Café tent selling ethical products made in India, showcasing our exhibition, and informing people about Action Village India. In the run up to the festival you will work on the development of the exhibition. During the festival you will be working with the Events Intern and staff to ensure a successful running of the stall and the exhibition. You will need to be available in the set up and weekend of the festival – 24-29th July 2024.
Main duties and responsibilities:
1. WOMAD Exhibition Support
§ Attend meetings on the planning of the exhibition
§ Research into the theme of the exhibition
§ Support with preparing, designing, creating and installing the exhibition
2. Event Management
§ Support with event management as and when required
§ Work with AVI staff, trustees and volunteers at Womad Festival 24-29th July 2024
3. Office Support
- Helping with the day to day running of the office, including communication with enquirers and supporters and the online gift shop

Terms of Internship:
This is a voluntary position. Action Village India will cover travel expenses (from within London) to the office in Dalston and lunch costs for days worked in the office (up to £10 a day – if travel costs are higher, this can be discussed). QMC Capoeira School is looking for a Volunteer Camera Assistant who would love to support a community organisation undertake an international martial arts tournament and Brazilian Cultural Festival Project related work to start ASAP and finish mid – late November.

· Set-up cameras for livestreaming at the venue
· Monitor cameras during the livestream
· Manage cables and wires and areas around cameras to maintain good health and safety
The Studio Camera Assistant will play a critical role in helping to further develop the public profile of our organisation.
The ideal candidate will work in our Kingston office setting up and monitoring the cameras and lighting in the Studio during livestreams.
Essential Skills and Experience:
· Experience with DSLR/Mirrorless cameras
· Experience with professional camcorders (e.g. Sony NX100 or similar)
Preferred Skills and Experience:
· Previous broadcast or live streaming experience
· Previous experience with multicam setup
· Experience with stabiliser rigs
· Experience and knowledge of good lighting setup, arrangements, and techniques, such as 3 point lighting, and the use of diffusers
· Experience of use of HDMI, SDI, and Cat6 cables, extensions, and adapters

At Pride, we share positive stories from members of the LGBTQ+ community. We encourage attendees to share their story, message to their younger self, or message of support. The conversations we have are uplifting and often emotional.
What will I be doing?

Given that LAFF is a small volunteer-led charity, the Internal Projects Coordinator provides support to the Programme Manager in all aspects of LAFF’s internal operations programme planning, reporting, budgeting and delivery. This is a diverse role that encompasses all facets of NGO management.
Objectives of this Role
Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Projects Coordinator will be expected to carry out the following tasks:

About Latin American Foundation for the Future
The Latin American foundation for the Future (LAFF) is a UK-based charity supporting marginalised children and young people in Peru. We work through local partner organisations in Cusco and support activities and projects in the areas of formal education; vocational skills and personal development; sustainability, including income generation, cost reduction and capacity building. ·Responsible for gift aid process improvement and development of existing processes to ensure they are fit for the purpose.
Maintain compliance framework in line with HMRC & General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Train drivers, sorters, and retail staff on gift processes and compliances.
Assist in the development of gift aid training materials and delivery of training for drivers and retail staff.
Conduct an internal audit of the gift aid process and report operational and development feedback and findings to Finance & HR Director.
Prepare and process all relevant declaration forms to enable the charity to claim gift aid effectively and efficiently.
Submit accurate and timely claims to HMRC and process any tax refunds as appropriate.
Monitor and audit data input into the EPOS system and advise Logistics and Retail accordingly to correct/amend data.
Effectively deal with calls and emails from donors with enquiries about the scheme, the online system, and methods of donating.
Prepare and send quarterly and annual communications on gift aid and liaise with donors.
Ensure data cleanse exercises are completed to maintain compliance and accuracy of data.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The National Institute for African Studies (NIAS) is a London-based think tank that provides objective information on African affairs, looking to appoint a Research & Publishing Intern within its office in Central London. Our main publication, The Saharan is an interdisciplinary journal published by NIAS aimed at exploring the dynamic relationship between culture and development in Africa.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Support the editors in the sourcing & production of blog and journal publications
- Checking material for completeness, copy-edit and check appropriate non-technical material such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter updates
- Generate, check and correct files with names, contact information, number of articles, review assessments, and consent forms.
- Serve as a custodian of approved originals of all documentation produced for The Saharan journal
- Use NIAS LinkedIn account to connect to academics and groups to promote the journal, acquire papers, and attract skilled scholars to become reviewers
- Coordinate the publication flow of the journal and all stages of the editorial processes upon the release of each issue
- Review and adjust publications according to the style of the journal, ensuring the correct usage of references and plagiarism checking
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST:
- Have a minimum of undergraduate degree
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications
- Demonstrate excellent editorial and administrative skills together with high attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure to tight schedules and deadlines

Communications is an essential part of LAFF’s work as a means of creating long term relationships with supporters. As the Communications Coordinator, you will play a key role in fostering new relationships and maintaining existing ones.
You will focus on informing our communities of relevant news from LAFF, our partners, and Peru. Your independent research skills and innovation will see you collaborate with all of LAFF’s team to collect and present information. You will also work closely with Fundraising to develop campaigns and tailor communications to specific audiences.
LAFF’s mission of supporting access to education through partnership with local organisations means that you will work closely with partners to get updates and new material. LAFF believes in celebrating progress and raising awareness, and not exploiting vulnerable personal circumstances in our communications. You will ensure that all visual and written media complies with our Brand Guidelines and does not engage with ‘poverty porn’. Your success in this position will rely on your understanding of the socio-economic problems in Peru that affect LAFF’s beneficiaries, and your ability to effectively communicate the importance of LAFF’s work and progress.
Objectives of this Role
Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Communications Coordinator will be expected to carry out the following tasks:

Manage all of LAFF’s communications

Produce and disseminate high quality electronic communication regarding LAFF’s activities.

Provide semi-monthly and monthly reports on social media performance

Collaborate with LAFF’s Fundraising Coordinator to build relationships with donors, identify new funding opportunities and launch effective online campaigns

Maximize and update LAFF’s communications strategy

Maintain and strengthen LAFF’s online presence

Write and publish articles to raise awareness of thematic issues central to the aims of LAFF

Support the marketing efforts of our partners’ social enterprises

Skills and Qualifications

Objectives of this Role
