Advocacy Specialist
We are seeking an Advocacy Specialist who can hit the ground running to support the Clean Air Fund’s friendly advocacy team across its diverse operations.
The Advocacy Specialist is a central player in our team, who supports the successful running and implementation of our advocacy strategy, engaging directly with grantees, policymakers, and leading experts in climate and air quality to achieve our strategic objectives.
As Advocacy Specialist with Clen Air Fund you will play a central role in achieving our aims to increase understanding of the importance for air quality action, drive action on air quality at international, national and sub-national level and increase the amount, quality and geographical spread of donor funding for air quality work. Our work straddles engagement with multilateral processes, such as COP, G20, as well as the engagement with multilateral and bilateral development donors, UN agencies and country representatives. We do this through direct advocacy, as well as through funding others to do so.
This role provides the backbone of the advocacy function, coordinating events, diaries, developing of briefings, identifying, onboarding and managing grantee portfolios and much more.
The advocacy specialist role would suit an early career professional with some experience working in national, regional or international advocacy roles, with an eagerness to work in a fast-paced environment where every day brings new and diverse learning opportunities.
To be successful in this role you will have the below skills and experience;
- Strong project management skills and experience.
- Proven experience in context research, data gathering and analysis.
- Strong interest in international affairs, climate and environmental issues, politics and finance, and social change.

The Role
As Finance Business Partner (Grants), you will play a key role in ensuring robust financial management across a diverse portfolio of grants and contracts. Acting as a strategic partner to both finance and programme teams, you’ll provide financial insight, ensure donor compliance, and drive best practice throughout the grant lifecycle from proposal to closeout.
You’ll support sound financial decision-making across IRC UK’s growing portfolio of institutional and statutory funders, helping to ensure funds are managed efficiently, transparently, and in line with both donor and IRC requirements.

You’ll have a sharp understanding of how accounting operates within large, international organisations and demonstrable experience with institutional donor finance (e.g. FCDO, SIDA, Irish Aid, AFD). Experience working within multi-entity or international grant-funded environments, where collaboration across HQ and field teams is key, will be a strong advantage. You’ll also be confident working within complex reporting environments.
Analytical, proactive, and collaborative, you will combine technical rigour with the confidence to influence stakeholders across an international network - ensuring that IRC’s resources are used effectively and with integrity.

STRUCTURE AND PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As Deputy Director, Digital Fundraising you will be based in the London office or work remotely and will be part of the Mass Markets Global Support Team. The Deputy Director will play a pivotal role in advancing IRC’s global digital fundraising efforts by providing consultation and hands-on support across paid media, creative development, analytics, and process improvement. Serving as a strategic adviser to country teams, they will guide campaign planning, platform strategy, and performance measurement while handling key relationships with digital agencies and platform partners. They will also support creative process refinement, champion digital ads testing and optimisation, and ensure compliance with data privacy standards. In this role you will provide consultation and guidance on spending decisions about how best to utilise IRC budget on paid digital platforms to maximise income, and responsibility for suggesting, planning and delivering new and engaging ways to introduce prospects to the IRC brand.

The LATA Foundation was established in 2007 by members of the Latin America Travel Association (LATA) to support social and conservation projects throughout Latin America. The LATA Foundation aims to empower local communities, build capacity in the NGOs we support, and help protect the places we all love to visit. The foundation is proud to have donated over £550,000 to carefully chosen and vetted grassroots projects.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to maintain the ongoing progress of the Foundation and continue moving the Foundation forward, building on the work of the Fundraising and Volunteer Manager.
We are seeking maternity cover for the Fundraising & Volunteer Manager starting November/December 2025. The position will be open until the Fundraising & Volunteer Manager returns to work, or 14 months from commencement, whichever is sooner (no later than end of 2026). The exact end date is contingent on the postholder's confirmed return and may change within that limit, we will provide a minimum of four weeks’ notice of any adjustment.
About the role
The postholder will lead on fundraising including income generation, strengthen donor stewardship and communications, and coordinate the effective contribution of our volunteer network. Acting as the Foundation’s principal fundraiser and a key public representative, you will design and deliver fundraising campaigns and partnerships; produce clear, impact-led communications across channels; and ensure volunteer activity is planned, resourced, and aligned to organisational priorities.
Core responsibilities:
Fundraising
- Lead regular-giving acquisition and onboarding; plan and deliver fundraising initiatives/events with the team.

Donor Communications
- Own the communications calendar and delivery (newsletters, e-shots, key messaging) and steward donor relationships.

About you
You will be an experienced major gifts fundraiser and manager, who brings a collaborative and relationship-based approach to ensure success in your endeavours. Your experience, authenticity and curiosity about the world around you, enables you to establish credibility quickly and gain the confidence of the stakeholders you work with. As a divisional team leader and member of the major giving leadership team, you will inspire a motivated and committed Social Sciences development team as well as engage and collaborate with other fundraising leaders across the collegiate network, to identify and leverage all opportunities that will enable the University to achieve its strategic ambitions. It will therefore be important that you:

This is a crucial role for maintaining a robust financial control environment and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all financial data and services for the organisation. The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be instrumental in executing monthly accounting and control activities. Your key focus will be on leading and coaching a team of three, while driving continuous improvement and automation within financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively managing all monthly financial accounting and control activities, including month-end close, accounts payable/receivable, intercompany, and payroll/income reconciliations.
- Line managing, and performance managing a team of three, providing coaching and development.
- Designing, simplifying, and implementing control activities to strengthen the organization's financial control environment.
- Leading and executing continuous process improvement and automation initiatives within the Finance team.
- Assisting with the year-end audit process and building effective relationships with external auditors.
- Deputising for the Financial Controller as required.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Accountant OR actively studying a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACMA, ACCA).
- Demonstrable experience of leading, managing, and inspiring teams within a financial support function.
- Previous practical experience with Dynamics Business Central accounting system.
- Experience in engaging and leading process improvement and automation activity, particularly related to financial accounting systems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders (e.g., budget holders, auditors).
- Active Christian Faith (This is an Occupational Requirement).
Desirable
- Familiarity with project/fund accounting.
Salary range is £45,000 - £50,000 depending on experience + 7% employer pension contributions. The role will be based in Milton Keynes with hybrid working (2 days per week in the office)
