About the role

We are a leading UK charity delivering Family Group Conferences (FGC). ABOUT THE ROLE

This role could suit two types of candidates:

• A practitioner with experience of working with children and families who wants to use their practice experience in a programme management role, or;
• An experienced programme manager with strong public sector and/or charity sector experience, who is confident working with data and is relational and collaborative with colleagues and partners.

It would be an advantage, though not essential, to have experience of Family Group Decision Making, solution-focused practice, or the children’s social care sector.

Whilst this role is a managerial role, and not day-to-day family-facing we do make space for our Programme Managers to hold a limited number of referrals each year to nurture skills and practice experience. Full practitioner training is provided for all Daybreak employees.

The role is home based with regular travel into Bromley and Hackney Local Authority offices. A successful candidate would also need to actively work in person with commissioners, external partners, and communities in and around Bromley and Hackney on a regular basis, depending on service needs. What does a week look like for a Daybreak Programme Manager?

No two weeks are the same, but as a Programme Manager you can expect to balance a mix of operational oversight, supporting your freelancer team, and stakeholder engagement. Typical activities include:

Ensuring a quality service for families, and delivering on contract aims

• Reviewing and triaging referrals, including case discussions with referrers.
• Quality-assuring referrals and Family Plans, ensuring procedures are followed and records are kept up to date in our case management system.
• Monitoring case records to make sure Family Group Conferences are progressing appropriately, and accurate records are being kept.
• Collating and analysing performance data (KPIs), using MS Excel and other tools.
• Writing quarterly reports for commissioners, analysing service delivery, providing narratives and identifying areas for development.

Working with your freelancer team of Coordinators

• Allocating new referrals to our team of freelance Independent Coordinators.
• Engaging Coordinators in best practice discussions, providing guidance to overcoming barriers or issues.
• Acting as the first point of contact for safeguarding concerns, reviewing incident reports and escalating when required.
• Hosting in-person and online Practice Development Groups to share key messages and facilitate best practice discussions.
• Recruiting, inducting, and supporting new Coordinators - from advertising and interviews to observing practice.
• Reviewing and signing off invoices from freelance Coordinators.

Working with external stakeholders and referrers

• Building relationships with referrers such as Social Workers, through consultations and attending team meetings.
• Promoting our services to commissioners and senior managers in children’s social care, ensuring referrals are high quality whilst also raising awareness of the value of FGCs and our service.

Contributing to the wider Charity aims

• Attending Programme Manager and staff team meetings.

What you will be doing

This is a strategic and creative role at the heart of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People’s national fundraising and engagement efforts. The post holder will lead the development and delivery of national community and challenge event programmes across all four UK regions (England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland).

Using strong project and campaign management skills, the role will grow existing initiatives charity owned initiatives such as the Great British Dog Walk and the 28 Challenge and develop new, audience-led campaigns that inspire public participation, drive fundraising, and deepen long-term engagement with the charity.

Vision Action, formally Vision Aid Overseas, is a UK-based charity, with a focus on fighting poverty by transforming access to eye care services in lower- and middle-income countries in Africa. Job Purpose

Vision Action seeks a highly dynamic individual for a one-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of an extension. The position is part of the management team, and the post holder will be expected to lead on the financial accounting, management accounting, and budgeting for the organisation as well as taking forward some strategic finance and operations projects as we expand our programmes in existing countries. Functions / Key Responsibilities:

1. Finance

• Maintain a strong control environment, ensuring accounting records are complete and accurate.

Financial accounting

• Prepare annual statutory accounts in accordance with SORP 2015.
• Prepare for the annual external audit and host auditors ensuring the audit process runs smoothly. This includes supporting Vision Action’s country offices in hosting their respective audits.
• Ensure annual statutory accounts are finalised and submitted to Companies House and the Charity Commission by the appropriate deadlines.

Management accounting

• Coordinate the month-end process with the Finance Officer (UK) and Programme Finance Lead, and review transaction postings.
• Prepare monthly management accounts with cash flow forecasts, modifying the format as needed to suit the preferences of senior management and the Board of Trustees.
• Prepare the annual organisational budget and mid-year reforecast.
• Improve existing budget templates to enable straightforward and transparent budgeting for donors.

Support to country offices

• Support country office teams in fulfilling any reporting and financial compliance requirements.

• Demonstrable experience of co-production with residents or service users, ensuring their voices shape services

The Talent Set are delighted to be working with a fantastic charity to recruit their Grants and Bids Manager.

The charity offers a flexible working environment, with hybrid working and a requirement to work from their London office 1 day per week.

Reporting into the Senior Grants and Bids Manager, you will develop high quality, winning proposals, bids and funding applications.  You will bring together key functions within the organisation develop funding proposals that articulate the organisation’s service models.  Taking a project management approach, you will bring together all aspects of a funding application including facilitating service modelling sessions, writing bids and ensuring due diligence is carried out.

We are looking for someone with experience leading, managing and writing winning proposals/bids.

Key Responsibilities:

· Manage statutory funding applications of five, six and seven figure multi-year income compliant with commissioner/funder requirements.

· Project management of applications – managing timelines, activities, delegating tasks and ensuring stakeholders meet these, support decision-making through providing relevant and informed advice/guidance, producing high quality funding proposals and applications.

· Writing bids/applications/proposals.

· Planning and chairing proposal development meetings with key internal stakeholders, including Senior Management Team and Frontline Managers.

· Identifying and successfully bringing in new funding opportunities that align with strategic objectives.

· To provide the highest level of donor care and manage involvement of new funders to ensure potential funding is maximised, including organising visits, events, and meetings

· Information management and record keeping, ensuring our database is maintained and used to its full potential.

· Updating Fundraising Management Team with strategic developments in funding opportunities, e.g. emerging funding areas

Person Specification:

• Experience of developing compelling proposals
• Experience of generating £100k+ income
• Knowledge of issues affecting our client group and the policy landscape
• Knowledge of our key funding streams and the funding bodies (i.e. Statutory bodies: central and local government)
• Good writing and quality assurance skills; this can be demonstrated through having a relevant qualification such as a degree and/or through relevant work/life experience
• Good project management skills, with ability to track stakeholder tasks and input
• Hardworking, self-motivated, pro-active individual with demonstrable evidence of working well under own initiative and pressure to meet deadlines
• Excellent communication skills with demonstrable experience of communicating with a variety of stakeholders
• Ability to seek clarification from senior management and internal stakeholders to ensure we produce high quality proposals
• Ability to proactively seek solutions to issues and challenges faced while producing bids/proposals/applications

As a Casework Advocate you will understand the impact of specific human rights abuses on the development of children and young people in exile and their individual experiences of loss, trauma and grief on their mental health and well-being. 

As a Casework Advocate you will be out and about with young people - accompanying to appointments and encouraging their involvement and access to their community and support networks. You must be prepared to challenge certain decisions and practices where required for the welfare of the young person. The role can involve supporting young people to initiate legal challenges when necessary and advocating on young person’s behalf where required.
