We are seeking a dedicated and experienced operations manager to join our team. We are looking for someone who will help strengthen the foundations of our organisation, as well as help us expand our growing network of partner organisations across the UK. 

As a small charity, the role will require balancing practical tasks with strategic planning and management. Building on what has already been done, you will work directly with the CEO to help build the operational structure of Big Green Heart, and support its day-to-day operations. 

You will also facilitate the national deployment of Big Green Heart workshops across the UK, and will work with the CEO and trustees to implement the strategy needed to upscale the work of Big Green Heart.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• You will develop and implement operational policies, procedures and systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation.

• You will manage the operational activity of our Big Green Heart experience days, supporting the CEO in the delivery of them. 

• You will work closely with our partner organisations who are using the Big Green Heart model, ensuring that the high standards and values of our teaching are maintained.

• You will also work with the Big Green Heart team to onboard new partner organisations. You will work with them to understand their needs and secure buy-in. 

• You will collaborate with the trustees, who also contribute to tasks linked with Big Green Heart's development. 

• You will manage the budgeting and financial planning processes, working closely with the Treasurer.

• You will be trained as a Big Green Heart facilitator with an expectation that you may be needed to facilitate a workshop during your time at the organisation.

• You will participate in professional and networking events related to Big Green Heart’s field of intervention.

• You will support staff members, trustees and volunteers, providing guidance and training in the operations of the charity as needed.

• At least two years experience in operations management, preferably within the charity sector.

The Training Ground Programme
Training Ground uses the power of the club badge to engage with young people whom universal support cannot reach. Working with targeted participants, aged 16-24, who are not in employment, education, or training (NEET), the programme provides, one-to-one mentoring, wraparound support, and access to physical activity sessions and mental health, employability, and life skills workshops.

The programme will target those furthest from the labour market and with additional support needs, for example, looked after or care experienced, young carers, homeless or at risk of homelessness, those with experience of substance abuse, previous involvement with criminal activity, and/or those with a SEND.

The Role

The Programme Manager will be responsible for the ‘Training Ground’ programme, overseeing all aspects of the project, and ensuring milestones and output targets are met.

The Programme Manager will build a network of referral contacts and partners, ensuring sufficient and appropriate referrals are made to the programme. You will manage the participant pipeline and oversee all stages of the participant journey, ensuring impactful mentoring is delivered and that robust tracking is in place. You will provide guidance and leadership to a team of mentors and ensure best practice.

The successful candidate will have a sophisticated understanding of the challenges and barriers facing young Londoners, who are identified as the furthest from employment, and have an awareness of how to support them to progress into employment.

You will oversee the delivery of an employability programme and coordinate all aspects of the programme.

The programme manager will provide 1:1 mentoring to a caseload of participants, giving support to participants to develop essential skills for employment, whilst providing practical support, interview coaching, career information, and guidance.

New Horizon Youth Centre runs a busy day centre from Monday to Friday, providing basic needs to young people experiencing homelessness and a one-stop-shop for housing advice, youth work activities, counselling, jobs, education and training support. The Services Manager (Day Centre) is a brand new role for the organisation. They will work as part of the existing Youth Work Team to provide vital additional capacity and expertise to respond to the significantly increased demand we have been experiencing. New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. The commission will run from June 2024 for three years. As part of this, an additional service will be set up within the NHYC Youth Justice team specifically to deliver on the Alliance contract. St John Ambulance works at the heart of communities, supporting and enabling them to access and receive physical and mental health first aid. We do this through developing and providing effective community response and outreach services (e.g. Ambulance response, Falls response, Night Time Economy and Homelessness outreach) and using our longstanding expertise to empower people with vital clinical skills and the confidence to use them (e.g. our Volunteers and Community Advocates, NHS Cadets and Young Responders programmes). Job Summary

Working with communications and fundraising colleagues, the Celebrity & Influencer Relations Manager will attract, engage and develop new and existing relationships with high profile individuals to enhance our external brand and create and share compelling stories about St John and our work.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Significant experience of working closely with high-profile individuals and talent managers to deliver meaningful engagement. 
• Previous experience of successfully creating and executing a strategy for enhancing a brand through engaging celebrities and high-profile individuals 
• Experience of utilising audience insight and landscape awareness to identify suitable celebrities/influencers to enhance our brand development. 
• Experience of working within the not-for-profit sector 
• A collaborative, creative style with excellent written and verbal communication skills

 About the Role 

• Lead the implementation of a celebrity strategy and engagement plan to establish, cultivate, and maintain strong relationships with high profile individuals
• Work with the Brand & Communications and Fundraising teams to proactively identify and grow relationships with talent that broadens our reach as a charity 
• Develop creative concepts which can be used to engage celebrities and amplify their involvement across multiple channels and platforms. Draft briefing notes for celebrities, quotes and press releases about their activity. 
• Review existing relationships with high profile supporters and assess where there are opportunities to leverage these relationships to help deliver St John strategic messages. 
• Develop and participate in a network of counterparts at other charities to maintain a focus on continual improvement and innovation within this field in relation to high profile supporters and upskill St John People to spot opportunities for celebrity engagement.

Raising million of pounds annually since its launch, this product is one of the most successful products in this charity's portfolio. In this role Senior Fundraiser will be responsible for:

• Coordinating the involvement of the fifty-plus stakeholders across the organisation who come together every year to deliver this campaign
• Monitoring the organisation's performance against income targets and KPIs (key performance indicators) whilst the campaign is live.
• Ensuring that all our supporters have the best possible experience whilst engaging with this product.
• Line managing a juinor fundraiser

About the role 

As Artists & Influencer Manager, you will work with internal and external stakeholders to develop, manage and deliver complex projects in support of Save the Children's campaigns. This is an exciting role where you will get to engage with artists and influencers for various exciting campaigns including Christmas Jumper Day.

You will work with the rest of the A&I team to build a strong roster of high-profile supporters, influencers and ambassadors, stewarding them to become passionate advocates for children's rights, delivering audience cut-through, fundraising objectives and helping build Save the Children's brand.

In this role, you will: 

• Alongside the A&I team, be responsible for identifying and delivering the right blend of high profile personalities to support projects, activities and objectives across PR, digital, events, campaigning, partnerships and other. 
• Spot opportunities and devise A&I activations that raise awareness and visibility of Save the Children amongst key target audiences with the aim of recruiting new supporters and encouraging them to take action. 
• Develop and maintain relationships with current artists and influencers, developing their involvement with Save the Children in creative and innovative ways.
• Target and recruit new A&I supporters, whilst nurturing long term relationships with a view where relevant, to eventual commitment on Ambassador level.  Keep up to date with supporters' broader schedules, spotting new opportunities for engagement as they arise.
• Write and present inspiring proposals for artists, agents, managers and publicists, creating and defining the right pitch for the right potential ambassador.

About you 

To be successful, it is important that you have:  

• Experience of working with digital influencers including building content and delivering activations.
• Understanding of social media landscape, trends and developments and ability to suggest ways to utilise them. 
• Experience of working with talent - including those with global reach – in a range of settings. 
• Ability to pitch and secure involvement of new talent, through written approaches and one-to-one meetings. 
• Excellent personal networks with key talent, management, PR agents and other.
• Demonstrable experience of generating and delivering innovative ideas involving talent, to support a specific campaign or event.
