Job description
Want to work for a highly prestigious organisation? Do you have experience in leading a team and managing the year end process? Have excellent communication and strong technical skills? If yes, please read on!
This permanent Financial Controller role will lead the financial accounts function, managing a team of eight which includes accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and the statutory accounts. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous experience in the not for profit sector who is comfortable managing a team.
Day to day responsibilities include:
  • Ensure processes, controls and financial systems are robust, operating correctly and documented efficiently.
  • Suggest necessary improvements to systems and processes and implement changes offering training and support to the department if needed.
  • Process quarterly VAT returns.
  • Oversee and manage the cash forecasting process ensuring all records are up to date and manage to timely collection of debt.
  • Lead on the reporting of fixed assets.
  • Act as the main point of contact for auditors.
This Financial Controller will fully understand the year end process and will have led on this before. This position will best suit someone with experience managing a medium sized team. An understanding of the not for profit sector will be an advantage but isn't essential.
This successful candidate will be:
  • A qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA).
  • Confident Lessing the year end accounts.
  • Experienced in VAT partial exemption.
  • Experienced in managing a small team.
  • Able to analyse complex financial information.
  • An excellent communicator.
  • Confident overseeing processes and suggesting process improvements.
