We have an exciting opportunity to join our talented and passionate team of Dementia Advisers in Greater Manchester.
Within this role you will be providing dementia knowledge and expertise across Stockport, working in close partnership with the memory clinic and other providers. The role will include offering support within a hospital setting, supporting people after a diagnosis of dementia and having a presence to offer information sessions and networking with hospital staff to increase awareness and encourage referral and engagement.
The role will include facilitation of our popular Singing for the Brain group on a fortnightly basis.
As a Dementia Adviser, you will have the rewarding opportunity of providing support, information and guidance to people with dementia, their carers and families, supporting them to maintain their independence, improve their sense of well-being, putting them in more control of their lives.
The Dementia Adviser service is unique to everyone, based upon their personal circumstances and support needs. You will offer support in a variety of ways to include in people’s homes or various locations within the community, face to face, by phone, letter or email. You will also support people to access other services, providing signposting and referrals.

Role summary
As Senior Manager for Humberside Women’s Centres you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing our centres and contract delivery in Humberside. Working closely with the Director of Services and supported by a senior key worker your focus will be on providing high quality, trauma-responsive support to women with experience of, or at risk of entering the criminal justice system.
You will lead on managing and delivering our contracts across Humberside to ensure our operational and strategic objectives are met. You will also focus on building excellent relationships with funders and key partners and identifying new partnership and advocacy opportunities.
Supported by a Senior Key Worker, your responsibilities will encompass the day-to-day management of our Women's Centres and contract delivery partners across various locations, including our Hull Women’s Centre, our Hubs in Goole, Beverley, and Bridlington, as well as partnerships in Grimsby and Scunthorpe.
Managing a team of Key Workers, you will be responsible for ensuring women and girls receive an exceptional service from within a safe, trauma-responsive, women-only spaces. Working alongside our statutory and non-statutory partners in Criminal Justice and Health and Social Care, you will ensure the continued strategic development of the Women’s Centre and represent Together Women at local and regional level.
Your responsibilities will also include identifying and pursuing new funding opportunities, and ensuring the continuity of existing services through effective contract management. As a forward-thinking individual, you will contribute to the wider strategic direction of the organisation as part of the senior management team, which will entail submitting high-quality monitoring reports to funders, line and team management, and contributing to the ongoing development of the vision, mission and values of Together Women.

Humberside service delivery
· Provide strategic and operational management for Together Women’s services across Humberside, including our Hull Centre and our Goole, Beverley and Bridlington Hubs.

Purpose of the Role
The Helpline Manager will manage and provide support and advice to a team of Helpline Support, Caseworkers, IDVA, and Helpline volunteers who will be handling calls. The role will also include occasionally providing helpline cover during staff shortages. The helpline supports women on more than 45 different issues with most of the calls relate to violence against women and girls (VAWG) as well as mental health and wellbeing. The Helpline Manager will be responsible in ensuring that the service continues to be culturally sensitive and be able to respond to a diverse population of women with complex needs; managing the rota for staff and volunteers, ensuring there is sufficient helpline cover, identifying and managing safeguarding issues, monitoring staff performance, maintaining the helpline database, and providing helpline data to other staff.
The role will also include occasionally attending external stakeholder meetings and raising awareness of the helpline service. The Helpline Manager will also have some involvement in other MWNUK projects, services and activities as required. The role requires a proactive, organised and practical approach to ensure MWNUK’s projects are delivered effectively and efficiently, providing high quality support and customer service across the organisation, both internally and externally.
Main responsibilities

Supervising the Helpline team of 11 staff (however this is equivalent to 3 full-time staff per day only) and ensuring there is sufficient helpline cover and monitoring their wellbeing.

Recruiting and training helpline staff and volunteers with the support of senior management and ensuring their development needs are flagged up.

Monitoring performance of helpline staff through daily check-ins, debriefs, monthly supervision meetings and annual appraisals.

As part of the new Dementia Support contract in Hertfordshire, which started in October 2024, the Alzheimer’s Society has taken over the management and facilitation of dementia support group services across Hertfordshire. Currently we manage 22 centre-based activities groups (weekly) across Herts, in addition to another 4-5 online groups (carers and Young Onset specific). The groups are well established and a crucial means of support to service users and carers. We are in the process of reviewing our groups, this might result in us developing more new and varied groups (respite, specific communities or location specific) in the coming months.
As a group facilitator you will have many key functions, this will include managing and facilitating weekly activities based groups (could range from 2-4 groups per week), structuring a 12 week program for the groups you manage in consultation with service users and carers; managing volunteers that support your groups, working with local Dementia Advisers to provide 1-2-1 support for groups attendees and establishing relationships with local organisations for the purposes of facilitating signposted support for service users.

The post holder will have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse as its effects on women and children, and of best practice within the domestic abuse and young people’s sectors. As an experienced children and young people’s advocate who has worked with complex and multiple needs, the post holder will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis, and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. Experience of direct work with children survivors of domestic abuse and working with young people and children in face-to-face and group-work is essential for this post as is working within safeguarding principles and promoting a strong partnership approach to service provision.

In this role, you will be instrumental in fostering relationships with trust funders, crafting compelling proposals and reports, and uncovering new opportunities to support our mission. Your efforts will directly contribute to maximising lifetime support for our charity from key stakeholders.
What you’ll do:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with a portfolio of trust funders, enhancing their engagement with our cause
- Generate high-quality proposals and reports for high and mid-value funders, securing significant gifts and expanding the long-term value of your portfolio
- Lead innovative strategies to work with the Parkinson’s community, improving our fundraising approaches.
- Spearhead the trust donor experience strategies, including creating bespoke content and organising targeted events.
- Implement a new mid-value trust fundraising strategy in collaboration with your fellow senior officer.
What you’ll bring:
- Proven experience of leading successful five figure fundraising from major trusts and foundations.
- Demonstrable expertise in the requirements of trusts fundraising, e.g. bid-writing, budgeting, activity and outcomes reporting
- Understanding of the needs of the Parkinson’s community and strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills.
- Strong team-working ability including to lead internal project teams towards clear goals.
- Experience of operating collaboratively and productively in a digital workplace, including using a fundraising database and online funding research tools. .
- Ability to analyse, organise and present written and numerical reporting data, with excellent writing skills.

Job Description
The Head of Finance Business Partnering will:
- Lead financial planning and the production of the Force's Medium-Term Resource Strategy and Capital Programme Plan, ensuring alignment with the Strategic Planning Cycle.
- Work closely with the Chief Finance Officer (CFO), Head of Finance, and Head of Management Accounting to ensure departmental strategies align with the Force's financial objectives.
- Provide insightful financial analysis, advice, and assurance to support senior decision-making on resource allocation and funding priorities.
- Ensure the Finance Business Partner (FBP) model is embedded in decision-making, driving the Centre of Excellence (COE) framework across projects, policies, capital, and Oracle systems.
- Collaborate with the CFO during the financial forecasting and strategic planning cycle to incorporate decisions into financial strategies.
- Contribute to the financial sections of the Force Management Statement, ensuring alignment with workforce planning and other Force areas.
- Provide strategic financial support for HMIC inspections and ensure issues are addressed.
- Implement a performance framework for the finance team, reviewing KPIs, addressing discrepancies, and promoting continuous improvement.
- Lead strategic finance initiatives on major projects, ensuring alignment with the Force's broader objectives.
- Guide Finance Business Partners to meet Force requirements, build team capacity through training, performance management, and development, and ensure consistency in financial analysis.
- Improve financial literacy across the Force, supporting strategies for efficiency, cost consciousness, and resource optimisation.
- Lead the development and maintenance of financial management systems, with expertise in the Oracle EPM system.
- Provide financial modelling and support for decision-making, focusing on value for money and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate on strategic asset management, influencing vehicle, estate, and IT strategies to align with financial plans.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of financial information in reports to strategic meetings, including sign-off on financial implications.
- Work with Procurement to contribute financial expertise to significant procurement exercises and mitigate financial risk.
- Provide robust financial advice to external partners and collaborate with other forces and agencies to benchmark best practices and share insights.
- Support the Force's application for external funding, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
- Act as a key advisor in project boards and deputise for the Head of Finance when required.
The Successful Applicant
The successful Head of Finance Business Partnering will be/have:
- Qualified Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies (C.C.A.B.) or CIMA accountant.
- Recent experience of working within a finance business partnering model or the ability to demonstrate an awareness of what is required to deliver the outcomes of the model.
- Understand personal and professional strengths and development needs and be able to evidence the steps taken to enhance your continuing professional development.
- Ability to interpret complex or detailed legislation, policy or strategy documents to identify financial implications and provide insightful financial advice.
- Strong commercial acumen with the desire to help drive business performance and show the wider business how finance can add value on a day-to-day basis.
- Experience of advising, challenging and negotiating with senior officers, managers and budget holders in a confident manner.
- Ability to use a range of communication and influencing techniques to successfully negotiate, collaborate or effect change in relation to matters of a specialist / technical nature.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and experience of building robust working relationships and establishing personal credibility with senior officers, managers and budget holders.
- Demonstrate IT literacy including advanced Excel, with extensive experience of large, complex ERP systems.
- Open to change, intellectually curious and able to challenge existing thinking to initiate and embrace innovation.
- Excellent analytical skills and a creative approach to problem solving.
