Job Title: Hertfordshire Project Assistant

Salary: £27,150 (London Fringe weighting)

Based at: Remote, with travel to schools in Hertfordshire

Working Hours: 5 days a week, 9am-5pm (flexible)

This role requires occasional work outside of core hours (for example, if visiting a school breakfast club). It also requires travel to schools across Hertfordshire, so access to a car would be desirable. Training for delivery of the programme will be provided online and in person, and you will be expected to travel outside of Hertfordshire for some of these sessions.

Nourish uses a collaborative whole school approach to food involving everyone across the school community to create lasting positive change.

Job purpose

· To support two Project Officers with the delivery of Nourish in 40 schools in Hertfordshire (primary, secondary and SEND settings) over 3 years

Key tasks include

· Recruit schools to take part in Nourish

· Shadow and support project team to deliver in person food audits in schools

· Build relationships and work closely with teachers, teaching assistants, cooks, kitchen teams and senior leaders in schools in Hertfordshire to improve the food they offer their students

· Provide practical support to the project team with setting up workshops including paperwork and food shopping

· Provide admin support to the project team

· Tailor Nourish resources for Hertfordshire schools where required

· Collect data and maintain accurate records relating to the project

· Gather content for our comms team, website and social media platforms

· Keep project team fully updated on progress

· Keep up to date with safeguarding requirements and reporting procedures.

This role creates a positive impact for young people by managing partners through the effective delivery of our youth work programmes, delivering high quality facilitation and training and building excellent relationships across a region to contribute to improvements in our network offer.

Working with Project Mangers across Network Delivery, you will enable the effective delivery of our provision to the youth sector through effective contract management and support for partnerships with Delivery Partners and Grantees. Programme delivery

• Account and contract management of relationships with a portfolio of Delivery Partners and Grantees within your geographical location

• Ensure that Delivery Partners and Grantees understand their programme and grant requirements and are successfully delivering against those

• Support Project Managers in coordinating and administering a range of project activities through the project lifecycle including contracting, onboarding, monitoring progress, event management and delivery and data collection

• Conduct visits to youth organisations engaged in our digital and physical delivery

Facilitation and training

• Deliver engaging and effective facilitation, training and events across both digital and physical platforms.

Network Development

• Build knowledge of the provision of support for young people in your geographical location to enable you to act as an effective relationship builder, networker and connector

BACKGROUND

Ashiana is a ‘by and for’ women led BME VAWG service with 30 years’ experience in delivering a holistic range of specialist services to South Asian, Turkish and Middle Eastern women affected by Violence Against Women & Girls (VAWG).

OUR SERVICES

Ashiana runs three refuges with a total of 29 bedspaces; specifically for women aged 16-35 fleeing forced marriage. This multi award winning project is the only service of its kind in the UK and is highly innovative in terms of addressing an area of significant need not met in other refuge provision. Within these refuges we designate a number of bedspaces for women with no recourse to public funds. We offer an advice and support service to women and girls who are experiencing VAWG, enabling them to make informed decisions and exit violent relationships. We provide a legal service supporting women with no recourse to public funds to help resolve their immigration status.

Counselling is offered for women and girls affected by VAWG. The counselling service works from an integrative stance, with the focus of providing a holistic service whereby we also work alongside other services and provide specialist domestic violence group work. The emphasis of therapeutic work with our clients is from a trauma informed model.

We also deliver an education programme for young people in secondary schools in East London aimed at preventing domestic violence and enabling young people experiencing domestic violence to access appropriate services. The prevention service includes delivering a whole school approach in schools to young people as well as group work to women and girls across North East London boroughs as well as community engagement activities and delivery. We deliver a range of awareness raising workshops for young people in the community and training on domestic violence for professionals in the voluntary and statutory sector.

About the role

You’ll play a vital role in ensuring Parkinson's UK is compliant with regulatory standards, charity law, and data protection legislation,

You'll oversee the charity's Risk Management Framework and manage the internal audit contract and delivery plan. • Offer guidance on risk, governance, data protection, and compliance to Parkinson’s UK, enhancing awareness and developing a compliance culture across the organisation.

• Lead the Risk and Assurance team, including the governance support and compliance functions.

You will lead and oversee end-to-end design processes, ensuring that UK Youth develops fully packaged offers that respond to the evidence base and people’s needs, drive forward our strategy and achieve incredible impact. You will work across UK Youth teams, with external design partners, and meaningfully involving young people and the professionals who support them in the design process.

You will be experienced in developing high quality funding propositions (proactively and in response to new business opportunities). You will be confident in taking a human-centred design approach to tackle some of the youth sector’s knottiest problems.  You will design solutions to important problems, ensuring that they are feasible, equitable, impactful and scalable.

In 2026, our priority topics for youth work programmes and network development are: mental health and wellbeing, employability, social cohesion and community safety.

 As a leader, you will work closely with research, evaluation, policy, service delivery, network development, and fundraising teams. You will help to improve the skills and confidence of colleagues across UK Youth to apply design methods in their own work and collaborate effectively with the Design team.

Experience we're after

• Significant experience of leading and overseeing the development of new business propositions and proposals to time-limited funding opportunities

As a Welfare Services Navigator, you will be on the front line of the organisation, providing essential support to beneficiaries through our helpline, email, and web chat services. The successful candidate will be proactive, with experience of working with people in a supportive capacity. This new role will bring strategic direction and thought leadership to our work ensuring that people experiencing socio-economic disadvantage can access high-quality hospice care, when they need it.

We are looking for someone with sound, technical knowledge of the relationship between socio-economic deprivation and health outcomes. Someone with experience working on projects that use evidence and research-based approaches to address health inequity at scale. You will have the skills and expertise to help us work at a system-level to transform practice in hospice care, as well as increase reach. 

You’ll be supported by teams across our organisation to ensure Hospice UK collects the data and evidence required to inform our policy work in this area, and help transform hospice practice. 

Perhaps you’re working in palliative care already - or you might bring strong health equity expertise from another speciality. 

Either way, you’ll become part of a close, 17-strong Programmes Team at Hospice UK. We work together and alongside external experts, to design and deliver evidence-based programmes, projects and events, which help hospices provide the very best care in their communities.
