SAYiT is a Sheffield-based charity working to transform the lives of LGBTQ+ young people up to the age of 25 through supportive group work, youth action, education and influence. We are looking to appoint a Chief Executive Officer to build on our successes to date and lead the charity in its pioneering work.

This is an opportunity to join a passionate, dedicated team working to make positive change across Sheffield’s communities and the wider region.

As the charity’s most senior employee, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of the charity’s work. You will report to the Board of Trustees and work with them to shape the strategic direction of the charity in supporting LGBTQ+ young people.

You will bring with you a comprehensive awareness and understanding of the key issues and challenges faced by LGBTQ+ young people and communities and be responsible for maintaining and developing relationships with a wide range of key stakeholders and the wider public. You will also be a confident public speaker, representing the charity at events and in the media, and in the delivery of consultancy and advice work.

You will also have a strong track record of effective financial management, income generation from a diverse range of sources and monitoring and evaluating work for grant and contract funders.

In addition to all of these skills and attributes you will be able to bring your extensive leadership experience to the role, overseeing a skilled team of project and development workers and volunteers, and providing direct line management to our charity managers.

The Chief Executive will be responsible for providing leadership, developing, and implementing Living Well Bromley’s strategic and operational plans, leading on partnership and business development, and being an effective advocate for the charity and its beneficiaries.

They will lead a senior management team of three (the Operations Manager, Funding and Communications Manager and Advocacy Manager).They will be responsible for ensuring financial control and supporting and advising on governance best practice across all aspects of the charity.

This post is a first-tier post directly reporting to the Board of Trustees. Ideally the post holder will have a Christian faith and be committed to core Christian values.

The way people are accessing support is evolving and we need to ensure that we are developing support services that reflect the complex needs of a brain tumour diagnosis using a range of platforms, from a traditional phone line service to innovative, engaging and instant solutions.

Supporting a wide range of people, from those who are looking for general information about treatment or care, to those who need more detailed support from the point of diagnosis, you will be passionate about improving the lives of those affected by a brain tumour. You will be comfortable providing emotional and practical support and information across different channels; capable at breaking down complex, scientific information in an accessible and personalised way and committed to developing pioneering resources to support our community in smarter ways.

Key accountabilities:

· Provide specialist emotional and practical support and information to people affected by brain tumours, their friends, families and carers through a variety of solutions including phone, email, webchat, online, social media plus new evolving channels

· Provide high quality information which reflects the most up to date research, clinical information and treatments, in a way people can understand. Conducting the research yourself and adapting your communication to suit the person you are supporting is key

· Offer coaching guidance to empower individuals, helping them to achieve the appropriate next steps

· Work in conjunction with the Volunteer Development Manager to recruit, train and manage volunteers who assist in delivering support services

· Lead on aspects of cross team projects and develop new resources that meet our community’s needs, while collaborating with other teams and external partners

· Identify gaps in knowledge across the Support Team and identify possible training areas

· Develop information for our website and other resources, for example, writing initial drafts and reviewing information

· Plan and facilitate online and in person events for the brain tumour community, including online meet ups for young adults

· Day to day management of our online peer support
platforms, for example our Facebook groups for Young Adults affected by a brain tumour diagnosis

· Update and maintain accurate contact information on the CRM database, producing data reports as required to evidence the impact and reach of our support services

· Identify, manage and escalate safeguarding concerns in line with The Charity guidelines

· Review day to day tasks across the Support Team

Experience:

· Background experience in a supporter, help line, health care, science or psychology related role

· Experience of communicating complicated subject matter to lay audiences in a variety of ways

· Working in a support capacity, in particular with young people

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication styles for difference audiences

· Knowledge of health, the human brain, cancer or brain tumours

· Ability to prioritise and work under pressure with good time management

· Able to work flexibly and creatively to respond to the emerging needs across the Support Team

· Self-reliant and competent IT user including digital platforms, data insights, internet, email, databases, spreadsheets, desktop publishing and MS Office

· A professional person with the social skills necessary to deal with a range of stakeholders with the self confidence and stature to support people affected by brain tumours

Dog A.I.D. is recruiting for the exciting new role of Programme Support and Engagement Officer. The post holder will play a key role across client support and volunteer engagement functions within the charity. They will work alongside our operations and training teams to support and engage our existing network of volunteer trainers and support them effectively to ensure their long-term retention. As well as providing administration for our existing volunteer CPD offer, the post-holder will support the roll-out, administration and evaluation of two crucial new projects, a trainer mentoring programme and an in-house assessor’s course.

The Programme Support and Engagement Officer will also develop trusting and empathetic relationships with our clients, engaging and supporting them as they navigate the Assistance Dog training programme.

This role is person-centred and focused on building great relationships with clients and volunteers. You will often be the first point of contact for volunteers and clients contacting the charity, so an empathetic, diplomatic and professional approach is essential, as well as excellent inter-personal and communication skills. The role post-holder will be expected to undertake a wide array of administrative tasks related to programme support, so it is essential that the right candidate is able to manage and work through a heavy and varied workload efficiently and effectively.

Dog A.I.D. has a small staff team so it is essential that the post-holder is a strong team member who is proactive and self-motivated. They need to be able to see “the bigger picture”, identify priorities and use their initiative to “get on and do” what needs to be done. These are exciting times for our charity so we would want someone who is passionate about what we are trying to achieve and comes with us on the journey.

This role is full time (37.5 hours per week).Our team works a hybrid model, predominantly home working with regular travel to our office in Shrewsbury and other locations for workshops and meetings

Dog Assistance in Disability (A.I.D.) is a unique organisation, empowering disabled people to train their own pet dogs, supported by professional dog trainers as volunteers.

Dog A.I.D. was established in 1992 to assist people with physical disabilities, improving their quality of life by helping them train their own pet dogs to provide assistance with day-to-day tasks.

In 1996, the Dog A.I.D. Scheme was launched nationally at Crufts and today has a team of staff, volunteer trainers and assessors based across the country supporting over 168 Assistance Dog partnerships, both in training and fully qualified, with our office base in Shrewsbury, Shropshire.

As of May 2024, there are currently 98 fully qualified Dog A.I.D. dogs throughout the country, with 70 more in training with 95 voluntary Dog A.I.D. Trainers. The training takes up to two years with both dog and disabled owner (‘client’) receiving specialist education from our network of trainers and attaining fully accredited Assistance Dog status through three distinct stages.

Dog A.I.D. is a member of Assistance Dogs UK, a voluntary coalition of Assistance Dog charities that aims to promote the freedom, independence and rights of people with assistance dogs across the UK. All Assistance Dogs UK dogs adhere to the highest training and welfare standards as set out by Assistance Dogs International and the International Guide Dogs Federation.

Exeter-based cancer charity, Force, is well known and much loved for its incredible work supporting people who have had a cancer diagnosis and their families with a range of support.  Their longstanding CEO is now retiring and the search has begun to find that special person to leader the charity into the future.  We are delighted and honoured to be supporting the Board with this important appointment.

Fauna & Flora is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Technical Officer, Enterprise  to support the design, implementation and knowledge exchange of conservation enterprises and related local sustainable finance mechanisms that generate finance for conservation and/or improve the livelihoods of local communities at Fauna & Flora’s projects around the world.

You will be supporting business model development, private sector partnerships, project management, fundraising, capacity development and communications. You will work closely with our regional programme and partners in 20-plus countries, who are working on the ground to deliver conservation impact. 

You will be a highly motivated and organised individual, looking to apply your expertise in business and finance to solve conservation challenges. You will have an understanding of developing business plans and developing financial models. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to liaise across teams and cultures as well as from rural entrepreneurs to corporates and investors. You will enjoy applying your business skills to complex issues and explaining these in plain and accessible language. You will have excellent facilitation, training and coaching skills and passionate about supporting others to develop their knowledge and skills while being open to learning and able to quickly pick up new skills.

Fluency in English is essential and French is highly desirable. Knowledge of language relevant to Fauna & Flora’s work, such as Bahasa, Swahili, Russian, Portuguese or Spanish, will be highly valuable.

Fauna & Flora is part of the Cambridge Conservation Initiative in The David Attenborough Building, providing a great platform for collaboration with other conservation organisations and University of Cambridge departments and institutions. 4. To manage and deliver job search sessions.

5. To lease with Employability Lead when participants are ready to move over in In Work Support team.

6. To advertise project opportunities to autistic people throughout London and manage project recruitment and onboarding.

7. To ensure processes are in-place for each project to:- assess each participant’s individual skills and gather baseline data; ensure job matches are appropriate to the individual’s needs and aspirations; and that targets set are relevant and promote new skills and learning; acquire and complete necessary risk assessments to ensure safety of clients, staff and partners.

8. To oversee the set up and settling in of jobseekers into work placements, when needed. Providing support and training to employers where required; providing personalised on the job training to participants and employers as required and develop strategies and advise on reasonable adjustments.

9. To coach, train and help manage new project staff to support jobseekers and put in place monitoring protocols.

10.  To ensure jobseekers are progressing towards their individual targets; understand protocols and interpret work culture correctly; understand the health & safety in the work environment and adopt appropriate workplace behaviour.

11.  To ensure good working relationships are maintained with all employers/ work experience placements and that feedback is regularly sort from all stakeholders to help improve our service delivery and future opportunities.

12.  As a key member of the Development Team to work closely with the Development Director to actively, engage with employers and external organisations to promote CareTrade and our job seekers and to pursue opportunities to work collaboratively.

13.  To attend events, to market CareTrade to autistic jobseekers and to liaise with Disability Employment Advisors at JobCentre Plus, Disability Services teams, Social Workers and others to promote and support employment opportunities as needed.

14.  To organise and promote social groups for jobseekers.

15.  To collect data and use data analysis to help produce reports, internally, for funders and partners.

16.   To help seek and apply for appropriate awards and grants when required.

17.  To be a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)  and First Aider and complete regular training working alongside the Development Director to ensure the safety of participants and staff.

18.  To complete relevant health and safety training and be a named fire marshal.

Do you have good problem solving skills with the ability to spot future challenges through analysis?
We're looking for an analytical thinker to join our Facilitation and Planning team as Facilitation and Planning Officer.

You'll work as part of a team who are responsible for planning and scheduling of all events, conferences and one-to-one sessions across our programme suite. We recruit and support expert faculty to ensure our programmes are delivered to the highest quality in order to enrich participant learning.

Your main role will be to work within the Facilitation and Planning team, supporting with the development of our online system to auto-generate events. You'll  be responsible for setting up reporting and monitoring processes to support our optimisation of facilitators, and work closely with other internal programme stakeholders to oversee the creation of new policies and processes such as our Quality Assurance and development offer. 

Please note - this role is internally known as Facilitation and Planning Senior Associate. 

We would like you to:

• Lead on the scheduling process of our programmes, ensuring scheduling aligns with sequencing requirements
• Be the first point of contact for our team of external faculty (facilitators and coaches), supporting general queries and processing invoices. 
• Be responsible for allocating and matching facilitators to events and 1:1 coaching influenced by a set of key criteria
• Communicate and simplify complex data to share with stakeholders and identifying issues and solutions

Working in a hybrid way, you’ll be attached to either our Birmingham, London or Manchester office and will report to the Facilitation and Planning Manager.  In line with our current ways of working, you’ll be expected to be in the office at least 1 day a month, in addition to team days and this may be reviewed by Ambition.

To succeed in this role you'll have a excellent communication skills with experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders. Our ideal candidate will have high attention detail, and thrive and excel with organising, scheduling and planning responsibilities.
 

Whilst experience in other analytical systems would be desirable, it is not a requirement for applying to the role but it is essential that you have an ability to get up to speed quickly and we will provide full training.

This is an excellent opportunity to truly make a role your own and get involved in the project from the start, which will be supporting 10 adults with mild/moderate to severe learning disabilities, as well as additional mental and physical health needs.

You will play a pivotal ambassadorial role, spearheading Centre’s 404 service expansion into the London Brough of Brent and bringing our expertise, vision and values to families in need.

This varied and dynamic role will lead on the set up, coordination and provision of excellent person-centred care and support to service users, enabling them to live independently in their home and be supported in all aspects of day-to-day living. As Project Manager, you will oversee the development and implementation of care plans designed to provide meaningful choice and a range of activities and support to meet individual needs. You will also contribute to the development of the team and be responsible for encouraging a culture based on respect and dignity for those in need of care and support, providing supervision and clear management to a team of support workers.

The Role

As an Active Sports Officer, you will assist in the day-to-day operation and management of The Hub, the largest, most popular outdoor sports facility in central London.

Delivering outstanding customer service, you will create opportunities for under-represented groups to engage in sport and physical activity, generating income from sports bookings, events and fitness licensing in Regent’s Park and Primrose Hill.

You will assist in ensuring that staff, contractors, coaches, volunteers and league organisers and programmes provide a safe, high-quality experience and respond to the needs of our users.

• Oversee the use of the Hub and sports pitches and assist with pitch inspections
• Assist with the Fitness Licence application process

About the role 

This vacancy is for a University Access Officer to work in London across up to 3 schools along with remote working. Our schools are shown on a map of The Access Project schools on our website.

The University Access Officer works with school staff at all levels, volunteers tutors, and with the rest of The Access Project’s team to ensure that the delivery of the programme is optimised. 

Role responsibilities 

Our schools undertake either our Gateway model, which includes mentoring and tutoring or our Accelerate model, which includes mentoring and coaching. Some Accelerate schools also have tutoring included on our Accelerate Plus model.

Depending on the model in the schools you are based in, role responsibilities will include:

• Engage with students in school and enrol them onto the programme 
• Assess student progress towards being able to make successful university applications 

• Upload information onto the Salesforce database (training is provided) 
• Build and manage relationships with volunteers to ensure they have a positive experience of the programme 
• Manage students’ relationships with volunteers through monitoring of systems, emailing and making phone calls.
• Work with school staff to ensure their cooperation and timely completion of activities contributing to the smooth running of the programme 
• Chair and present at school meetings with Senior Management to report on programme progress. 
• University Access Officers support the volunteering team by helping to deliver volunteer training sessions, and attending university site visits, which take place on occasional Saturdays and weekday evenings (paid time off is provided).

This vacancy is for a University Access Officer to work in the West Midlands across up to 4 schools (maximum) along with working remotely; exact school location(s) to be confirmed at interview. The University Access Officer works with school staff at all levels, volunteers, and with the rest of The Access Project’s team to ensure that the delivery of the programme is optimised.
