Senior Stewardship Manager for Mighty Hikes
1 year fixed-term contract (career break cover)
34.5 hours per week

Each year we recruit thousands of people to take part in the Macmillan Mighty Hikes, a sector-leading series of hiking events across the UK that have raised over £70m for people living with cancer.
We’re looking for an experienced and results-driven stewardship manager with excellent project management skills to oversee the delivery and development of our multi-channel stewardship campaign, registration platform and website for the 2026 series.

About the role
This role is responsible for leading our Programme Manager and Officer to plan, build and optimise our multi-channel stewardship journey – covering email, outbound calling, SMS and direct mail. You will also work in close collaboration with our Product and Digital teams to manage and develop our website and registration platform.
A typical week in this role might involve:
- Overseeing the delivery of project plan tasks across different stakeholders, to make sure everyone is meeting set KPIs and working to deadline
- Managing our relationship with our registration platform provider, using data and insight to identify improvement
- Working with creative agencies to brief and produce assets, using audience insights, that will inspire people to fundraise for their Mighty Hike
- Managing expenditure budgets to ensure spend is tracking accurately against different suppliers
- Using JustGiving data to report on fundraising performance and identify opportunities to drive growth and test new activations
- Leading on meetings with internal and external stakeholders to present the Mighty Hikes and inspire high levels of engagement and support
This role does require weekend work (although not at your desk) as you’ll be out and about cheering on our participants. A full UK driver’s license is preferred and a willingness to drive a van is a bonus. You will be compensated for your weekend work with days in lieu.

About you
We are looking for an experienced stewardship manager with a passion for project management, strong account management skills and understanding of digital optimisation.
- Stewardship skills: experience delivering multi-channel stewardship campaigns with personalisation based on customer segments
- Digital skills: experience with website management and a strong understanding of digital optimisation and SEO
- Financial skills: proven track-record of hitting financial targets and managing expenditure budgets
- Results-focussed: ability to analyse data to report on performance and make decisions for optimisation
- Project management and leadership: experience in leading individuals or teams to deliver a project, setting clear goals and delegating tasks effectively

The Senior Officer, Public Health, Inclusion and Support will support the development and delivery of the public health, inclusion and awareness team's work across the UK, which is to empower patients and the public to play a full role in managing their own risk of getting breast cancer, diagnosing breast cancer earlier and improving their quality of life after a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, thereby reducing the risk of recurrence.
The role will also support the delivery of activities to drive forward equity, diversity and inclusion agenda to ensure Breast Cancer Now achieves the pledges, recommendations and actions set out in plans and champion commitment to celebrate diversity, challenge and address inequality, and help build an inclusive environment for all people affected by breast cancer.
Key responsibilities
- Project Delivery & Community Engagement: Support the delivery of public health and inclusion initiatives by coordinating projects, developing resources, and building partnerships with under-represented communities.
- Monitoring, Evaluation & Data Management: Monitor and evaluate public health activities by gathering data, producing reports, and maintaining accurate records in line with organisational and data protection standards.
- Representation & Communication: Represent the team at meetings, events and conferences, and contribute to internal and external communications to raise awareness of public health work.

The successful candidate will be proactive, highly motivated and have experience in the development and delivery of public health and inclusion initiatives, campaigns and projects. You will be confident in understanding and explaining equity, diversity and inclusion issues in public health work clearly and are able to present information in a variety of forms dependent on the target audience.

This role is primarily based in the London office (near Aldgate). The hybrid working model allows full-time staff members to work up to 3 days per week at home.

The Direct Marketing Manager at CBM UK is a vital role and has responsibility for delivering CBM UKs digital and direct marketing plans to engage and inspire individual supporters and churches to support the work of CBM.
Working closely with the Head of Marketing, as part of the Public Fundraising team, the role holder will be responsible for the management and development of two Marketing Officers. Through digital and direct marketing, the Public Fundraising team are responsible for raising over £3m of unrestricted income from cultivation, acquisition, mid-value donors, regular giving, legacies and churches.
Key responsibilities
Fundraising campaign management (40%)
Manage the effective implementation of the annual public fundraising plan, ensuring that all activity is of a high standard, and delivered on time and to budget:
a. Oversee cultivation fundraising appeals primarily carried out through direct mail and email, leading on the continued development of mass fundraising to engage both existing and potential supporters, including high donors, regular givers and church communities.
b. Manage and develop CBM UKs donor acquisition activity in collaboration with the Marketing Officer (Acquisition), using channels such as social media, magazine inserts, press advertising, email and telephone.
c. Oversee the delivery of CBM UKs legacy and in-memoriam giving plans and campaigns.
d. Identify and consider new income streams and broaden the channels used currently for direct response campaigns to reach an agreed balance of long-term value versus risk.
Digital marketing (40%)
Grow digital engagement and income from new and existing supporters:
a. Lead on Pay Per Click strategy, including agency management and development of internal capabilities.
b. Oversee CBM UK’s paid social media activity.
c. Collaborate with the Communications Team to optimise the performance (traffic and income) of fundraising pages, including appeal and donation pages, churches and community, legacy, and in memoriam giving. Ensuring fundraising pages on the CBM website are engaging to existing and new audiences and where appropriate, utilising Search Engine Optimisation tools where appropriate.
d. Explore and make use of new and existing digital platforms and partners, such as Dataro and SEMrush, while promoting a culture of testing, innovation and learning within the digital space.
Leadership and people management (10%)
a. Support and inspire direct reports in line with CBM UK’s staff management policies and procedures. Ensure team members are appropriately trained, briefed and motivated to achieve their objectives and meet targets and recruit to posts where relevant. Regular 121s and appraisal reviews.
Planning and reporting (10%)
a. Monitor and report on fundraising appeals, identifying opportunities for future testing and optimisation, and contribute to the creation of annual planning, budgeting, and the setting of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
b. Work closely with the Data and Insight team to ensure strong joint working on technical solutions related to campaign analysis, tracking and insights across digital systems, such as the website, donation platform and CRM (Salesforce).
c. Plan, deliver and report on campaigns/projects within an agreed budget.
Other
a. Ensure the consistent use of CBMs brand, key messages and style guide across all fundraising activities.
b. Maintain awareness of and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to direct marketing, including Fundraising Regulator guidance, and Data Protection legal requirements (GDPR and PECR).
c. Collaborate with colleagues across CBM UK and the CBM Global Federation, to support integrated and partnership based working.
d. Help foster a positive and inclusive culture of enthusiasm and success, reflecting the ambitions of CBM, and promoting positive working and innovation.
e. Be willing to work occasionally outside normal office hours and to travel in the UK and internationally if required.
f. Ensuring that the values of CBM UK are understood by external partners and always reflected in communications.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Therapy Assistant to join our multi-disciplinary team (MDT) of colleagues to support a young person and their family for 22.5 hours per week virtually, at their home and in the community.

- A smart, kind, gentle 11 year old girl who lives at home with her mum and cat.
- Currently not accessing a school but has a team of supporters supporting an Education Other Than School Package.
- School and education have been very tricky in the past and so it’s important to build up confidence and wellbeing and take time to recover and make connections.
- This person loves Taylor Swift, Melaine Martinez and K-Pop. Animals are very important to this person, especially their cat and dogs are a favourite too!
- This person is very skilled at video editing and technology.
- Current activities which are enjoyable are; shopping, crafts, lots of play, listening to music, gaming, making/watching videos, skateboarding and spending time with animals.
- This person is autistic and has ADHD. She has a positive self-identify around these diagnoses and celebrates being neurodivergent and being part of the neurodivergent community.
- This person has additional anxiety disorders that make her distressed by demands or feeling forced to do things, and this anxiety can lead to her not being able to communicate when she wants and needs to.
Under the direction from an advisory teacher with the input from the Psychology, speech and language therapy and occupational therapy teams you will develop programmes of activity and provide these according to the young person's needs under the guidance of the team professionals.
You will provide advice, support and coaching for the young person and their family, under the guidance of the Therapy and Specialist Support (TSS) professionals. In addition you will attend meetings including MDT as required contributing to the young person's risk assessment and management plans ensuring that the young person is involved in their support planning wherever possible to facilitate their meaningful involvement in their progress.

- Ensure every Emergency Department and Critical Care unit has a suitable bereavement suite
- Ensure that bereavement boxes are available at each of these hospitals
- Ensure that immediate bereavement support is available for all affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
- Provide a professional counselling service and other therapies for those affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
- Provide support to individuals who witness the sudden death of a child or young person
- Provide support and training to professionals from any sector who may be affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
- To advocate and campaign on behalf of suddenly bereaved families
2wish Cymru and 2wish:
2wish has been established since 2012 and has grown from strength to strength. During this time, we have worked tirelessly to embed our service and ensure that the offer of support is made at the point of death.
We offer an immediate, consistent, high-quality and compassionate service to all individuals affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under. We work in partnership with professionals who refer into the charity on behalf of families, so they don’t have to trawl through the internet for an organisation who may, or may not, be able to support. We provide immediate, and ongoing, support and are here for as long as our families need us.
In January 2024 we launched phase one, of the ten-phase expansion, into the bordering counties of England and Wales, namely; Cheshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Avon and Somerset.
In July 2025, we plan to launch phase two of the expansion and will continue to roll out support in the coming years across the whole of England.
Context of role:
2wish support anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under. We provide immediate casework support, as well as ongoing services including counselling, complementary therapies, play therapy, coffee mornings, support events and a respite cottage.
As we continue to expand our services across England the successful candidate will play a central role in the ongoing development of our relationships with stakeholders. Initiative and drive play an integral part of ensuring our professional stakeholders remain engaged and champion our service to those we support. The post holder will provide immediate and ongoing emotional and practical support to families, friends, witnesses and professionals affected by the sudden death of a child or young adult.
Main duties:
Service:
- To initiate immediate support for a caseload of families whose children and young people aged 0- 25 have died suddenly and unexpectedly across the county you reside in and bordering counties
- To contact all families within 24-48 hours of the referrals by telephone
- Complete an initial assessment of families' needs to identify and plan the support as required in line with safeguarding and risk reduction
- Offer emotional support and advice to a case load of families through home visits and ongoing weekly telephone calls
- To liaise with the Counselling Support and Outreach Coordinator, who is responsible for organising formal support such as counselling, complementary therapy or play therapy, subject to consent from the bereaved individual
- To work with hospital staff, GP’s, police officers, coroner offices, mental health teams and other healthcare professionals to raise awareness of and promote referrals into the charity from the county you reside in and bordering counties
- To liaise with other professionals working alongside the family to provide a holistic and multiagency approach to support
- Attend relevant forums within the area
- To deliver awareness training in hospitals and other healthcare settings, schools and workplaces on the use of the bereavement boxes, the services we offer, ho to refer into the charity and bereavement awareness
- To ensure families have been offered a memory box and coordinate these when required
- Facilitate debriefs within professional settings following a traumatic or sudden death of a child or young person
- To work with hospital trusts to establish and maintain the upkeep of suitable bereavement suites for bereaved individuals to use as required
- Maintain stock of 2wish memory boxes and deliver boxes to partner organisations as required
- To submit monthly/quarterly/annual reports to Bereavement Services Manager as required

What we do for you:
Salary: Starting salary of £26,500 per annum, with the opportunity for an increase through the appraisal structure.

Hours: Normal office hours are 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday, although alternative hours may be worked with line manager agreement. Work outside office hours may sometimes be necessary and will be compensated for by time off in lieu.

The Role
The Pantry Coordinator will play a vital hands-on role in both developing and managing the daily operations of these new community food pantries. They will be responsible for managing food supplies, while embedding food safety guidelines and best practices at every stage. They will implement effective systems to ensure smooth service delivery while continuously consulting with the community to refine and improve the pantries’ operations.
As a critical role in the success of the trial, the Pantry Coordinator will monitor performance, measure impact, and drive continuous improvement to enhance service quality. Additionally, they will create and maintain an inclusive, welcoming space where individuals and families can access food with dignity.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Collaborate with supply chain, member services, and depot teams to ensure pantries receive an appropriate mix of high-quality, nutritious and culturally appropriate food that meets community needs

Job Description
As the Fundraising and Programme Officer at Temwa, your time will be split across both fundraising and programmes. You will support fundraising through grant proposal research, preparation and submission, as well as support project management through project development, reporting and monitoring. You will report directly to the Programme Lead as well as be accountable to the Fundraising Manager.

We partner with hard-to-reach communities in Malawi, empowering local people to end poverty and transform their own futures. At the same time, we inspire local communities in the UK to come together to help bring about this change. We have been working in Northern Malawi for over 20 years, and our work currently includes sustainable agriculture, forestry, health and education programmes.

We have a highly skilled team of 27 full-time employees in Malawi implementing this work, based out of two offices in the Northern Region. Our UK office in Bristol comprises a small fundraising and operations team of six staff (two team members are full-time, all other team members are part-time), 3-5 regular volunteers and interns, and a wider family of volunteers and supporters.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Fundraising (60%)

Ongoing management of a portfolio of charitable trusts and grant-making bodies
-
Researching and maintaining a database of donors including Trusts and Foundations in the UK and overseas to which Temwa could apply for fundin

Stewardship of current donors to promote repeat, long-term funding
-
Growing the organisation’s fundraising portfolio by submitting funding proposals to new donors, including Trusts, Foundations, and Institutional Donors

Working to form strategic partnerships with relevant organisations and agencies

Developing the organisation’s case for support, including through proposal templates for all projects
-
Working with the Temwa Fundraising Manager and MD on corporate partner engagement

Supporting fundraising events, and representing Temwa at events and networking meetings

The postholder will be required to undertake other duties and responsibilities from time to time - Temwa is a small team, and all staff are occasionally called upon to support the work of others
Programmes (40%)

Supporting project development and budgeting
-
Monitoring progress of projects against targets

Assisting with the implementation of agreed programme management systems, including the development of logical frameworks and other monitoring tools

Reviewing internal reports and leading on all donor reports

Supporting development of Impact and Annual Reports as well as Temwa’s other capability statements

Liaising with the Malawi office on programme queries related to UK fundraising and programmes
Experience, Qualifications, and Requirements:
The ideal applicant would have the following attributes:

Educated to degree level or equivalent in work experience
-
Experience of fundraising, including trust and grant fundraising, with proven track record of securing income against set targets

Knowledge and experience of writing compelling and persuasive fundraising applications/reports

Experience in researching trusts, foundations, and a variety of fundraising prospects, including corporate partnerships and grant opportunities

Experience of building good relationships with staff, external funding bodies and supporters
-
Experience of working on any international development project

An understanding and empathy for international development work

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Highly numerate with strong attention to detail

Ability to work with competing priorities to tight deadlines

Highly proficient in the use of Google Workspace and MS Office, particularly Excel
