KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

User Support (1st & 2nd Line)
• Provide support via helpdesk, email, phone and in-person.

About the role

This role will shape how King’s builds trust, celebrates generosity, and strengthens long term donor relationships. The Donor Relations Manager (maternity cover) will lead the creation and delivery of high quality stewardship for some of the university’s most impactful supporters.

Reporting into the Head of Donor Relations, the role oversees the project management of more than 120 bespoke donor reports each year - compelling, insight rich updates that show donors the real difference their gift has made across King’s, from pioneering research into personalised cancer treatments and young people’s mental health to innovative programmes in AI and Law and sustainability. Working closely with fundraisers and our Advancement Writing team, the post-holder will ensure every report is delivered on time, to an exceptional standard, and with opportunities to introduce more personalised, creative stewardship along the way.

The post holder will partner with fundraisers to design tailored stewardship plans for major and principal gift donors, including those giving £5m+. This includes impact reporting, naming and recognition, and bespoke engagement projects that help donors feel valued, connected, and confident in their support of King’s.

Strong project management skills, excellent writing and organisational abilities, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to juggle deadlines with confidence and initiative are key to this role, as are creativity, curiosity, and a passion for crafting meaningful donor experiences.

This is a full-time post (35 Hours per week) and is a fixed term contract for the year of maternity cover. P&A has a hybrid working approach, with a minimum of 40% of time in the office. Typically, this equates to two days per week, but we’re very happy for colleagues to be in more frequently if they so wish.

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

· Understanding of one or more of: UK Charity sector/Higher Education and donor relations/stewardship

We are looking for a Coordinator to help our small Quaker peace organisation to continue to thrive when our current Coordinator retires at the end of 2026.

You will work with NFPB trustees and members to support Quakers in the North of Britain in their peace work, which covers a wide range of issues. Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Management

• Act as the lead nurse in the absence of the Unit Manager/Deputy, ensuring the smooth operation of the unit.

• Support with rota planning, staff deployment, and management of nursing teams.

• Contribute to recruitment, supervision, appraisal, and ongoing professional development of staff.

• Ensure effective communication across internal departments and with external professionals, residents, and families.

• Promote a culture of respect, empathy, and professionalism, in line with Nightingale’s values and Jewish cultural observances.

• Support in managing complaints, incidents, and staff concerns following Nightingale procedures.

Clinical Practice

• Coordinate, deliver and evaluate high standards of resident care in line with CQC and regulatory standards.

• Maintain safe administration and control of medications.

• Promote and model effective multidisciplinary communication.

• Engage in clinical practice regularly to maintain clinical skills and support staff on the floor.

• Contribute to continuous improvement in nursing practice, patient outcomes, and resident satisfaction.

Service & Practice Development

• Work with the Unit Manager to implement changes and innovations in clinical care.

• Participate in quality assurance, audits, and evaluation of care standards.

• Ensure safe, effective, and up-to-date practices based on current research and clinical guidelines.

• Foster a learning environment for staff and students on placement.

• Mentor staff and support development of specialist skills in elderly care.

Education & Research

• Take responsibility for your own professional development and NMC revalidation (where applicable).

• Conduct bi-monthly 1:1 supervisions with allocated staff members.

• Promote evidence-based practice and contribute to training and development sessions for team members.

• Participate in service improvement initiatives and research where appropriate.

Health & Safety / Compliance

• Uphold Nightingale’s policies on fire safety, health and safety, infection control, and emergency procedures.

• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, medicines management, and legislative frameworks governing adult social care.

Site Cover

• Participate in the site-wide cover rota, including occasional out-of-hours responsibilities and working opposite the Unit Manager to ensure continuity of care and leadership.

Essential Criteria

• Registered Nurse with valid NMC PIN.

• Experience in elderly care or a similar setting.

• Strong leadership, communication, and clinical skills.

• Understanding of CQC standards and person-centred care.

• Commitment to cultural sensitivity and values of Nightingale.

Desirable

• Previous experience in a senior or acting-up role.

• Mentorship or teaching qualification.

Independent Members are expected to actively participate in meetings of the Committee, and demonstrate independence, integrity, objectivity and impartiality in their decision-making. In order to achieve a broader range of experience on the Committee, the Authority is seeking to appoint an independent member with experience, at a senior level, in the one of the following key areas:

Candidates with experience in these areas in large private sector organisations will also be considered.

Independent Members will be appointed for an initial period up to 31 March 2029 with the potential for this to be extended for a further three years.

Successful candidates will receive an annual allowance of £1500 and will be expected to attend three Committee meetings per year. Meetings are usually held in person at MRWA’s office at No 1 Mann Island but may occasionally be held vie Teams.

Candidates will also need to be able to commit sufficient time to read Committee papers in advance of these meetings and to undertake occasional training alongside the other Committee members.

The role in Approved Premises (AP) involves supporting high-risk individuals transitioning from prison back into the community. Responsibilities include preparing meals, supporting rehabilitation plans in collaboration with probation and external agencies, and ensuring residents follow rules such as curfews and drug/alcohol testing. A key aspect of the role is empowering residents to take responsibility for their own lives, without doing things for them, while providing support and supervision as needed.
