About the role
 
This role will support the housing department deliver the corporate vision and strategic priorities of the council by providing a framework to ensure business improvement and customer focused services. These services must also align with all statutory requirements including those within the Social Housing (Regulation) Act and Building Safety Act 2022.
 
The role will help drive a positive performance culture with a tenant centred approach. The focus on improving service delivery within the housing department will lead to increased satisfaction among tenants and leaseholders. This is an exciting role and will champion the tenants’ voice through the development of tenant influence and embedding of resident scrutiny of service delivery.
 
About you
 
You will hold a professional housing qualification or have relevant experience in the housing sector. A high level of professionalism, excellent communication and analytical skills are essential for this role. You must also be confident and have experience in delivering high quality tenancy or customer service-related services to customers along with expert knowledge of the role of the Social Housing Regulator and what it means for the Council. Experience of leading teams through change, having a focus on continuous improvement and effective performance management are highly desirable for this role.

Our Senior Individual Giving Acquisition Officer will develop, test, learn and grow our fundraising acquisition programme. The role is crucial in implementing our strategy to attract new audiences and donors across a wide range of fundraising products and campaigns from regular giving to virtual challenges.

This exciting role manages and supports all aspects of fundraising acquisition activity from planning and set-up to implementing end of campaign recommendations. The post holder will work closely with the Individual Giving and Legacy Manager and Head of Public Fundraising to plan how Bowel Cancer UK can acquire supporters through new and innovative campaigns and channels – taking a measured, test and learn approach.

As well as working closely with the entire Public Fundraising Team, the role will also collaborate with other key internal stakeholders and is responsible for fostering excellent working relationships with our portfolio of external agency partners.

The role has line management responsibility for our Mass Participation Officer, supporting them to flourish and develop in their role, and ensuring the successful delivery of our high profile and exciting portfolio of virtual challenges.

The Senior Individual Giving and Legacy Officer is responsible for building deeper relationships with some of our most committed supporters. This is an exciting role with opportunities to further develop our expanding Gifts in Wills, in-memory and mid-value programs. It also has oversight of our multi-channel cash appeals program which sets out to generate income from our base of committed supporters.

The role is managed by the Individual Giving and Legacy Manager but will work closely with all of Public Fundraising alongside other key internal stakeholders. The Senior IG and Legacy Officer will also be responsible for fostering relationships with various external agency partners.

The role has line management responsibility for the Public Fundraising Admin Assistant, supporting them to flourish and develop in their role, and ensuring they’re able to fulfil important supporter care tasks for the Public Fundraising Team. Key internal relationships are the Research Team, Services team, the Comms and Marketing team, and the Philanthropy team.

Our five-year strategy sets an ambitious milestone that by 2028, more than 7 in 10 people will be diagnosed at stage 1 or 2. Right now, it's less than 4 in 10. Our volunteers are incredible! They run peer support, community-based activity, build relationships with hospitals, run football teams, cheer at events and much more. Putting them first and enabling the activity they deliver is the primary goal of the Community and Volunteering Team.

Local peer-led bereavement support is a core part of what we do here at Sands. This is primarily delivered by Support Groups and Sands United football teams run by dedicated volunteers right across the UK, most of whom are bereaved themselves. We are looking for a passionate, talented Trusts and Foundations Manager to join our ambitious, successful Fundraising team that has been growing year-on-year since 1989 as we approach our new fundraising strategy.

Role summary and purpose

This role is responsible for managing and developing the charity’s portfolio of Trusts and Foundations, securing significant gifts and growing the long-term potential of this portfolio.  There are no direct reports, however the successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the General Manager, to build and develop cases for support to help fund our much-needed work.

The successful candidate will utilise their expert writing skills to shape those cases for support into compelling, high-quality proposals and reports.

Building relationships with a wide range of audiences including funders is key. Inspiring them to support families affected by cancer across the UK.

A dynamic, self-motivated, ambitious and pro-active fundraiser is required for this role, demonstrating enthusiasm for the projects and services we are seeking funds to support.

About you

The ideal candidate for this role will have experience and a proven track record of successful income generation and delivering against targets.

You will have demonstratable experience in researching potential Trust funders, submitting compelling proposals, securing funding and project managing successful bids through to completion of the grant award.

You will also have a background in report writing and demonstrating grant impact whilst being able to build relationships with funders, individual/major donors and senior stakeholders.

Experience of providing excellent supporter care, building mutually beneficial long-term relationships with funders is a must for this role.

Key responsibilities

Research and process management

· Work closely with our General Manager and fundraising team to fully understand our work, and the costs of delivering our work.

· Build strong cases for support, ensuring that you have all the information needed to create compelling proposals and reports for high and mid-value funders.

· Research and identify prospective trusts and foundations and other grant giving bodies.

· Grow and maintain a strong trust funding pipeline, creating new trust prospects for our priority funding areas.

Fundraising

.         Oversee the Trusts Team in delivering to develop and deliver persuasive and timely funding applications.

· Develop relationships with staff members and other key stakeholders across the charity maximising every opportunity for cultivation and development.

· Plan and organise opportunities for funders to view Kids Cancers Charity’s work first-hand, ensuring all safeguarding procedures are followed and met.

Reporting

· Compile comprehensive and compelling progress reports to feed back to grant makers in a timely fashion and incentivise continued support.

· Alongside the General Manager prepare accurate budgets detailing spending of specific grants.

· Draw down on any multi-year grants as outlined in our annual budget.

About the role

Our dedicated team moderates our full-service accounts (all organic content and paid ads) as well as one-off campaigns and appeals for some of the most recognisable charities in the sector. 

This role is perfect for skilled comms experts who can provide excellent supporter care and is best suited as an additional source of income (the majority of our team are freelancers and consultants). You must be able to begin moderation at 9 am (or earlier), wrap up by 9 pm and adhere to our sub-three-hour response time. 

Our moderators must have a minimum of three years’ in-house, third-sector comms experience. 

As a Social Media Moderator, you would be responsible for:

• Becoming the voice of the cause you are representing, adhering to their brand guidelines and tone of voice at all times

Our moderation takes place between 9 am and 9 pm, Monday-Sunday. 

Different accounts will require varying levels of ‘active’ hours (defined as time spent taking action). You will split your active hours between 9am and 9pm. For example, for an account which requires three active hours, you might carry out your work in six, thirty minute instalments throughout the shift.

As you gain experience, you will be allocated multiple accounts which will enable you to increase your hours worked. 

Whilst you need to be on hand to monitor your accounts during 9am-9pm, the role does allow for a great deal of personal flexibility.

Centre 33 offers a free and confidential counselling service to young people aged 13-25, living in Cambridgeshire & Peterborough. We have a team of volunteer counsellors / therapists, from a range of modalities and backgrounds, some of whom are on clinical placement and others fully qualified. We also have a substantial team of Mental Health & Counselling Project Workers who are qualified to a minimum of Level 4 and support young people experiencing a range of difficulties, including more complex presentations that sit outside of the statutory offer. Case work includes ongoing counselling (in person, telephone and Zoom)- applying a short term model of 6 sessions (with option to extend to 12 in specific cases) alongside assessment and a ‘single session thinking’ approach.

Young people can access our counselling provision via our ‘Someone to Talk to Service’ which offers a ‘drop in’ triage to gain a holistic understanding of needs prior to joining a waiting list for intervention. Centre 33 also sits within the ‘YOUnited’ partnership- a single point of access for professional referrals where we work closely with CPFT, CCS and Ormiston Families to ensure needs are meet by the appropriate service.

In addition to the counselling service, we have other front line teams holding complex case work of young people experiencing mental health difficulties.

Clinical Supervisor Role Description

Centre 33’s Clinical Supervisors are self-employed consultants, remunerated on an hourly basis for their work with us.

Principle Duties

The supervisor’s primary responsibility is to provide supervisees with professional consultancy for their work. Supervisors are expected to:

Offer regular fortnightly supervision to counsellors - a total of approx. 20 hours per year per counsellor.

Oversee the professional integrity of the work the counsellor is doing. ·

Be a resource for the professional development of the counsellor and to identify training needs for individual counsellors or the group as a whole. ·

Take part in six month probationary review of new counsellors and annual appraisal of counsellors. ·

Engage in annual 121 meetings with Clinical Lead to review supervisory practice.

Keep professional boundaries about confidentiality appropriately within Centre 33 and outside it, and assist the counsellor to do so too.

Be familiar with and act within the policies, guidelines and ethos of Centre 33 and the BACP code of ethics & practice, and to support the counsellor to do the same.

Be available to counsellors in crisis work, if required.

Liaise regularly with the MH&C Senior/Team Leads/Clinical leads and inform them of any concerns (s)he may have about the supervisee's competence, engagement or professionalism.

The Role

As Community and Trusts Fundraiser, you will be at the heart of our community fundraising efforts while also taking ownership of your fundraising portfolio, focusing on maximising income from Community groups, Individuals, Trusts and Foundations (both UK and international). You'll build and manage your own portfolio of donors, create fundraising initiatives and try new approaches that inspire and encourage community fundraising. You will provide exceptional stewardship to secure ongoing support. Collaboration and adaptability across this small, yet impactful organisation is key, as is a passion for creating positive change.

Your Responsibilities:

· Develop and deliver engaging fundraising campaigns and activities for community groups and individuals.

· Create and manage a calendar of fundraising events and opportunities that engage and inspire participation from community groups

• Build and manage a portfolio of community supporters, trusts and foundations to maximise income and awareness.
• Develop a robust pipeline of funding applications, securing grants from trusts and foundations.
• Develop and nurture relationships with existing and prospective funders, delivering outstanding stewardship. 
• Organise and support community fundraising events, both in-person and online, co-ordinating event logistics, from kit delivery to stock management and ensuring everything runs smoothly and the success of the event is maximised.
• Write impactful persuasive proposals and donor updates that showcase our work.
• Maintain accurate donor records and ensure timely reporting to funders in line with donation conditions while driving unrestricted and restricted income opportunities.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop social media content that engages supporters.
• Work closely with Head of Fundraising to achieve key fundraising objectives.
• Uphold and embed Village Water values and behaviour expectations in your work.
• Ensure communications are in line with the Fundraising Regulator guidelines.
• Act as an ambassador for Village Water, representing the charity at networking events.
• Be flexible to attend the occasional out of hours event.

Location: Remote (UK only) with a minimum of 5 mandatory meetings per year (includes overnight stays for 2-day meetings) at our office in Shrewsbury and occasional meetings elsewhere.

Salary: £33,000 - £36,000 per annum (depending on experience)

We’re seeking a Programme Coordinator to support the development and delivery of a new collaborative, cross-sector programme in East and North Hertfordshire, aimed at growing and sustaining volunteers across health and community settings.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative initiative that builds on the surge of volunteering for health we saw during the pandemic. With experience in project coordination or public engagement in the health, social care and/or VCFSE (voluntary, community, faith, social enterprise sector), the Programme Coordinator will support the Volunteering for Health programme delivery and engage with underrepresented groups in the local community.

Community Alliance (CABEH) is a growing organisation with an ambition to support the voluntary sector achieve meaningful change. This role is a key part of the wider Herts and West Essex Volunteering for Health Programme Team.

Essential skills, experience and personal attributes:

• A relevant degree or equivalent experience in a related field such as public health, community development, community engagement, social prescribing, and/or the Herts and West Essex VCFSE sector.
• Proven experience in supporting and coordinating projects, preferably within the VCFSE, health or social care sectors.
• Experience in research, data collection and analysis to inform project monitoring and evaluation.
• Experience in engaging with diverse communities.
• Excellent project coordination skills, including planning, monitoring, and reporting on project progress.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information clearly to a range of audiences.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously, working across different locations.

• Full, clean driving license and access to a vehicle for travel as required by the role
• Ability to work from both home, Community Alliance Broxbourne and East Herts hubs and office and the East & North Herts Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust office in the Lister Hospital, as well as attend meetings and events in various locations.
