Job Summary

The Head of Operations holds responsibility for our day-to-day delivery, strategic development of our services, and operational team leadership. As our new Head of Operations you will:

• sit on the PiP Senior Management Team and lead our team of circa twenty delivery staff. 
• ensure continuous operational improvement, working with SMT to develop our service and systems, through new projects or ways of working, and champion a learner-led approach to everything we do. 
• champion PiP meeting our regulatory and reporting requirements, manage key relationships including with local authorities, and hold budget responsibility across our service.

What You’ll Need

• Significant experience of working with people with learning disabilities, or a similar vulnerable client group, including knowledge of Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults (SOVA) processes.
• Significant experience of leading and managing a staff team.
• Strong understanding of and commitment to a person-centred approach to working with people with learning disabilities, including planning, progress monitoring and review.
• Experience of liaising with a wide network of agencies and sector professionals in support of student needs.
• Knowledge of national and local legislation and policy affecting people with learning disabilities, including personal budgets. Alongside knowledge of key legislation and processes including on Health & Safety and Risk Skills and abilities 
• Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, including the ability to maintain accurate records and produce reports for a variety of internal and external audiences.
• Able to take a lead role in the implementation of major tasks, including contributing to the delivery of key performance management targets and making organisational and systems improvements.
• Able to manage and complete projects successfully, including delegating tasks and monitoring and evaluating progress against outcomes.
• Able to establish, develop and maintain constructive and professional relationships with a wide variety of professionals and carers both internally and externally.
• Able to liaise and work closely with student families, carers and other stakeholders in planning, implementing and monitoring support.
• Able to take a flexible approach to work, including flexible and out of hours working in response to service needs and developments.
• Willing and able to participate actively in a variety of fundraising events and activities, including some evening and weekend events.

The CASA Project is a specialist service providing advocacy and support to women and their children who have been subjected to domestic and/or sexual violence and abuse, and who have moved on from refuge into accommodation.
The post is currently funded until 31st March 2026 with a possibility of further extension.

About you
We’re looking for a highly organised and self-motivated woman who is passionate about ending violence against women.  You’ll have a ‘can-do’ approach and demonstrable commitment to nia’s feminist approach to prioritising women, upholding and promoting feminist, trauma-informed and anti-racist practice.

About the organisation

nia has been delivering services to women, girls and children who have been subjected to sexual and domestic violence and abuse, including prostitution, since 1975. The organisation has three main aims: to provide services for women, girls and children who have experienced men’s violence; contributing to ending male violence against women and girls, and to inform and influence policy and public awareness.

nia is a professionally approved member of Rape Crisis England and Wales; an umbrella organisation supporting Rape Crisis Centres across the country. Rape Crisis is completely independent of the government and the criminal justice system.

East London Rape Crisis provides free, confidential specialist support for women and girls who have been raped or experienced any other form of sexual violence or abuse at any time in their lives, regardless of whether or not they have reported to the police. We offer confidential and independent support. Services include advocacy, emotional and practical support, one-to-one counselling and group work. The service is provided across Barking & Dagenham, Hackney, Havering, Redbridge, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest.

We form part of the London Sexual Violence Alliance. The Alliance brings together 225 years of expertise and experience and represents a bold, visionary and survivor-centred resource. The Alliance consists of eight members. Seven are organisations that have historically, and or currently, provide support for victims/survivors. MOPAC is the eighth member, primarily sitting at the oversight and leadership governance level.

About the role

In the role of Counsellor, you will provide one to one counselling and group therapy to survivors of sexual violence. You will work as part of a growing feminist Rape Crisis service that is developing to meet the needs of women and girls. Counselling is delivered face to face, online and via the phone.

We are looking for counsellors who can provide a commitment of 14-17.5 hours a week of counselling services, including one evening per week.

Here's what the team will be looking for

You have proven experience supporting individuals with mental health and/or dual diagnosis issues, either in a paid or voluntary capacity. You demonstrate a strong understanding of mental health conditions, effective communication, and the importance of providing dignified, respectful support.

You possess a solid grasp of Mental Health legislation, particularly the Care Programme Approach (CPA), and apply the principles of recovery through person-centred and strengths-based methods. You work effectively both independently and within a team, supporting colleagues and assisting with the induction of volunteers to maintain high service standards.

With good IT, literacy, and numeracy skills, you confidently use systems such as MS Word, Outlook, and online tools to manage records and communication. You handle challenging behaviour calmly and professionally, maintaining a non-judgemental and anti-discriminatory approach at all times.

Flexible and dedicated, you are willing to work early, late, and occasional weekend shifts to meet service needs. You have a strong understanding of safeguarding and act appropriately to protect clients. Above all, your solution-focused mindset, collaborative attitude, and optimism about recovery enable you to empower clients to make positive, lasting changes.

You must also be confident to cook a Sunday Roast for a group of service users.

As Partnerships and Philanthropy Officer (Corporate Partnerships), you will join their award-winning fundraising team - a team of eight, including a Head of Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships, three Philanthropy Partnerships Managers, two Philanthropy Officers and a Philanthropy and Corporate Assistant.

This is a corprorate partnerships focused Philanthropy & Partnerships Officer role, ideal for someone skilled in business development and relationship management who is passionate about driving social impact through strategic partnerships. You will work with a diverse range of companies — from global brands and corporate foundations to purpose-led SMEs — helping to deliver mutually beneficial partnerships that raise both income and profile for Hand in Hand International.

As Partnerships and Philanthropy Officer (Corporate Partnerships), you will:

• Manage and grow a portfolio of corporate partners, corporate foundations, and institutional organisations
• Support the expansion of new, high-value strategic partnerships
• Help develop and deliver the organisation’s Cause-Related Marketing (CRM) product to raise both revenue and brand visibility
• Identify, cultivate and secure new business opportunities through proactive outreach and networking
• Contribute to the corporate team target of $3.2 million and the overall PCP team target of $7.1 million
• Collaborate with programme teams to develop tailored, impact-led proposals and partnership pitches
• Steward existing corporate partners to deepen engagement and ensure mutual value
• Build strong, strategic relationships with corporate stakeholders at all levels

Ideal skills and experience:

• At least 1 year of experience in corporate partnerships, business development, or major donor fundraising
• Proven ability to secure new partnerships and deliver tangible income results
• Track record of managing and growing six-figure relationships or accounts
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills, confident engaging with senior stakeholders across sectors
• Creative thinker with a strategic mindset and ability to align business objectives with social impact
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adept at developing compelling proposals and pitches
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and results-focused

Kersalake Fellow

Full time, two-year fixed term contract.

For 40 years, NEF has turned big ideas, rigorous research and community power into real-world change. At this critical moment in politics, we’re looking for a talented researcher to join our team.

The late Lord Kerslake was a lifelong advocate for social justice and worked tirelessly in his career and in retirement to promote access to secure, affordable housing for all. At the time of his untimely passing he was Chair of the New Economics Foundation (NEF), the Peabody Trust and the Kerslake Commission on Homelessness and Rough Sleeping hosted by St Mungo’s. These three organisations have come together to honour Bob by creating a Kerslake Fellowship to work on improving outcomes in housing and homelessness, and especially for social housing.

Employed at NEF for a two-year contract initially, this role will help develop policy and practice capable of delivering big shifts in housing policy that will result in genuinely affordable, high quality and secure homes for all. The Kerslake Fellow will produce high-quality research that will help build the evidence base in social housing and homelessness, generate recommendations for actions that will lead to better outcomes, and build relationships with key stakeholders that will help deliver policy change.

We’re looking for someone with a relevant degree (or equivalent experience), a solid understanding of the housing sector and the challenges and opportunities it faces. At least three to five years’ experience in planning, developing and managing multi-stakeholder projects and/​or campaigns. Just as important is the ability to ability to deal with people at all levels, internally and externally, demonstrable organisational and administrative skill and a commitment to building the new, environmentally sustainable economy with redistribution of power and resources at its core.

Role: Kerslake Fellowship
Hours of work: Full Time (32 hours per week under NEF’s Shorter Working Week)
Salary range: £42,868 — £45,850
Location: Hybrid
London-based staff are expected to spend two days a week in our central London office, but we will explore different arrangements with individuals where this is helpful to support making reasonable adjustments for those with protected characteristics and/​or caring responsibilities.
