This hospice has been caring for local people since 1984. Currently in year three of a three-year strategy that has seen significant fundraising growth, the team now seek a Community and Events Lead (maternity cover) and Prospectus are excited to lead the search. The candidate should ideally be able to start by the beginning of July 2025.

This role will lead the organisation’s extensive programme of events and community fundraising activity. The postholder will lead a team of three people, growing and retaining the community and events activity through strategic and insight-driven decision making to maximise opportunities for significant income growth. It will involve working with colleagues, external supporters, third-party provides and others to develop and test new owned events too.

The selected candidate will have a demonstrable track record of managing and developing community and events fundraising activity and will have line managed a team before. You will have experience of setting and managing budgets for events and experience of delivering multi-channel marketing of activities or events to the public. This role is hybrid with three days a week in the office, with Monday as the core team day each week.

Community Link Worker

Location: Ealing

Salary: £26,560 inclusive per annum

West London Crisis Recovery House is Registered Care Home, working in a recovery model. The services are staffed 24/7 and offer support to the residents aged 18 and upwards.

The Role

• To promote independence by supporting service users to move on positively.
• Develop networks across West London to build strong move-on pathways from the WLCH.
• Ensure discharge KPI timescales are adhered to within the WLCH.

Key Accountabilities:

• Collaborate with Team Managers to develop strong community links, ensuring effective housing support for all residents.
• Directly run, manage or supervise groups or activities as appropriate.
• Effectively manage a service user caseload by prioritising workload.
• Organise and provide purposeful one to one service user action planning sessions and reviews.
• Directly run, manage, or supervise activities and groups designed to support residents in the discharge process and their integration into previous or new living arrangements.
• Adhere to the Community service referral procedure.
• Using their processes, provide a needs assessment, risk assessment and risk management plan for each individual service user.
• Where appropriate refer service users to other support services e.g. housing, counselling, CAB etc. 
• To increase service users’ independence and self-esteem, promote and encourage access to services that develop personal wellbeing, health, and life skills training
• Ensure confidentiality is maintained as detailed in their Confidentiality Policy.
• Participate in key aspects of the Service as requested by the Team Manager.

General Accountabilities

Administration:

• Maintain appropriate paperwork as required by the organisation and by the Commissioners who fund the day services.
• Provide copies of individual support plans and reviews of same to referrers.
• Accurately contribute to service monitoring systems.
• Maintain accurate service user’s records.
• Observe any written policies, procedures and guidelines for good practice issued by the organisation.
• Provide regular reports as required to the Team Leader.
• Ensure the petty cash procedures are used when money is spent locally on groups/ activities and other resources.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and their Health and Safety policies and procedures

Liaison:

• Liaise with appropriate statutory and voluntary agencies and provide information as necessary.
• Build and maintain positive and productive relationships with local community groups, resource providers, and partnership organisations.
• Present the Community Link Worker and the Day Service in a professional and positive way to external organisations.
• Attend local meetings and conferences of relevance to the service.

Supervision and Training:

• Accept regular support and monthly supervision from line management.
• Attend training courses and events as required.
• Attend and contribute to staff team meetings.
• Assist as requested in the selection of volunteers.
• Provide personal supervision to volunteers/ or less experienced workers as assigned.
• Assist as requested in the induction of new staff according to their Induction Policy

Roles and Responsibilities

Grant Operations (55%)

• Lead on the implementation of a recent grantmaking review, conducted by the Impact Team, including revision of key grant templates and processes: due diligence, proposal development, assessment rubric, recommendation reports, reporting, partner surveys and grant exit. 
• Lead on the summary of progress towards our grantmaking KPIs, providing detailed reports and recommendations for the SLT, Impact Committee and Trustees on a quarterly basis.
• Lead on the management and development of our Impact Committee, a formal governance body overseeing our grantmaking and impact, comprising 4 Youth Advisory Board members and 4 Trustees.
• Ensure that the Youth Advisory Board has sufficient opportunity to feed into (and shape) activities of the impact team, by collaborating with the Senior Youth Participation Manager
• Support the development and implementation of our new CRM system, ensuring data is captured by Partnership Managers and kept up to date.
• Support the Impact team to identify potential grant applicants by researching organisations in fields and geographies of interest to Mission 44, networking and attending relevant events
• Support Partnership Managers as they lead the day-to-day grant assessment and relationship management with our partners. Support the Impact team to maintain relationships and regular communication with our grantees, including site visits and attendance at partners’ events.

Funder Plus (20%)

• Work with the Impact Team to implement (and continually improve) our Funder Plus programme, ready for delivery in 2026/27 - with input and consultation from a range of internal and external stakeholders
• Meanwhile in 2025/26, support the Partnership Managers in their aim to provide additional support beyond financial grants which help our grantees to build their capacity, leadership potential and resilience - this is likely to involve regular communication with the fundraising team and liaison with our major corporate partners

Research, Learning and Evaluation (15%)

• Lead on the data collection and impact reporting processes which have been developed to capture learning, evidence and impact data from our programmatic work. 
• Support our partnership managers to use the data collection and impact reporting processes, ensuring we’re able to collect and analyse key impact data on a regular basis
• Work with our Head of  Strategy and Learning and colleagues in the Impact team to help us clearly and confidently articulate the difference we’re making as a foundation. 
• Identify opportunities to improve the systems and processes we use to generate appropriate impact data, research, case studies and evidence of our impact 
• Identify opportunities to collate and share learning across the Mission 44 team, to influence and inform our future grant-making and organisational strategy
• Build and maintain strong relationships with a range of peer grantmakers, charities, and other external stakeholders within the philanthropic sector, identifying opportunities for Mission 44 to share our learning externally, where appropriate.

Fundraising and Communications (10%)

• Support fundraising efforts by providing data and case studies to include in fundraising proposals and grant reports
• Support engagement between our partners and our donors, by facilitating the delivery of skills-based volunteering activities

About You 

Skills and experience

Essential

• Experience of working with a grantmaking organisation, as a researcher and/or grant-maker 
• Experience developing new/improved grantmaking systems and processes, and supporting the successful implementation of these processes within your organisation
• Strong project management skills 
• Experience of using grant management and/or database systems eg Salesforce or other CRM systems
• Experience of managing complex partnerships or contracts
• Proven experience of building and maintaining relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
• Proven experience of analysing information to inform your judgement
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines

Desirable

Dose of Nature

Dose of Nature is a mental health charity whose objective is to improve the mental health and wellbeing of individuals through increased engagement with the natural world. Our work is rooted in a wealth of scientific evidence that demonstrates the physiological and psychological benefits of spending time in nature.  We deliver ‘nature prescriptions’ to people referred by their GP with a wide range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction. Key Responsibilities

Hospitality & Wellbeing Support:

• Greet all guests, acting as the first point of contact between the team and external stakeholders visiting 1 Wharf Cottage, namely our clients, volunteers and partners.
• Prepare and serve teas, coffees, and refreshments to clients, volunteers and visitors, fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
•  Assist the operations and psychology team with daily administrative tasks, including managing scheduling meetings and client assessments / reviews.

• Provide general support for the day-to-day operations of the office, ensuring a productive, efficient and well-functioning working environment. Assist the Operations team in scheduling and coordinating client assessment and review appointments, workshops, and mental health activities in nature.
• Act as a point of contact for staff and volunteers, addressing logistical and office needs.
• Manage office supplies, ensuring restocking and organisation.
• Liaise with vendors and maintenance services as needed.
• Provide other general administrative support to the psychology and operations team, including making online orders, liaising with printers, and preparing resources for training events.

The 2021 Census shows that around 36% of Camden’s households are now made up of private renters, and in the Haverstock and Primrose Hill wards, where this project will operate, it’s 27% and 35% respectively. This group of residents is often unaware of what services are out there to help them, where they are located, and how they access them.

This new role has been created to outreach and engage with private renters in the 2 wards specified and it will also include information production, dissemination and project management work. The worker will set up the project and is the key person in ensuring the smooth delivery of it in line with its stated aims and objectives.

About the role

We are looking for a Deputy Service Manager to join our team based in Croydon, providing leadership and line management to a team of night staff which is around 10 people in total. You will provide support and supervision sessions at night, and general leadership to the team so they feel empowered to be productive and perform well within their roles. You will further ensure a quality service is delivered in line with our contractual requirements to the residents. You will be responsible for creating a psychologically informed environment (PIE) with person centred support during all hours. You will work closely with the day teams to ensure a smooth handover from the day to night. 

This service is a Forensic Mental Health provision for 27 people across 4 sites in Croydon. For your own personal safety, you will require to have access to your own transport as you will need to travel between our 4 sites during the night shift to provide managerial support to the teams. The teams support our residents with person centred support, to empower them to overcome their personal barriers with their mental health, to have greater independence and fulfilled living. The service is responsible for holding various activities, group sessions, and one to one support to enable residents to build their personal skills and experiences to achieve their goals.
