Schools Coordinator

We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a Schools Coordinator (Impact Officer) to work as the primary link between partner schools and the CYUK programme.

This youth and education charity empowers diverse 18 to 25-year-olds to tackle educational inequality through a year of full-time volunteering in schools. As mentors, tutors and role models in schools, the charities volunteers support children who are furthest away from opportunity in the UK.

Position: Schools Coordinator (internal title School Impact Officer)

School locations: SE11 5QY and SE19 3NY - 4 days school based

Training location: E1 6EG - 1 day per week (with some working from home)

Working schedule: Term-time working (except for the second half of August)

Hours: Working hours are 8:00-4:30, Monday to Friday.

Salary: £29,144 per annum

The Role

We have a rewarding opportunity for a School Impact Officer to train, support and develop volunteers and monitor the programme through effective administration, data management and to build a deep partnership between the school and the charity.

The Impact Officer is based predominantly in a school and is the primary link between the partner schools and the programme and is the enabler of the programme delivery.  You will support a team of volunteer mentors, who support school activities by coordinating, managing and evaluating the programme.

The Volunteer Mentors also complete a Leadership and Development programme and you will work with them on a professional development plan to chart their continuous professional development and ready them for employment.

The role is primarily a school-based post from Monday to Thursday and is based in a regional venue on most Fridays. See locations above.

To be successful in this role you will need to be passionate about social change and serving a great cause. As the School Impact Officer, you will strive for excellence and support the core vision and values of the charity.

You will have:

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Speaking and listening skills underpin our success in school, work and throughout our lives. Developing young people’s oracy skills equips them with the tools needed to navigate education systems, pursue career ambitions and achieve their potential. Like reading, writing and maths, oracy is an essential, foundational building block that prepares young people to thrive in society.

About this opportunity

Help us make oracy education an everyday entitlement for every child, in every school, by growing and diversifying Voice 21’s voluntary funding. 

As Voice 21 embarks on its ambitious next five-year strategy, we are looking to strengthen our team with a talented and ambitious Fundraising Manager. Your role will support the Head of Fundraising, CEO and wider team to develop new sources of high value support for Voice 21, working flexibly across trusts and foundations, corporate and philanthropic fundraising.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a knack for identifying funding opportunities and discovering new prospects. With excellent research, communication and relationship-building skills, you’ll work collaboratively with senior colleagues to strengthen our pipeline and drive long term growth in voluntary income. You’ll also contribute your ideas and initiative to develop and deliver compelling engagement opportunities for current and potential supporters, and lead on reporting impact to funders. Ultimately the post-holder is expected to grow in this role, to manage their own portfolio of high value donors. 

You’ll be joining the fundraising team at an exciting time as we look to build out the function in the coming years. The Head of Fundraising has been in post just over a year, and has put solid foundations in place to support long term growth. With a healthy pipeline already developed for the current and next financial year, you’ll have plenty of lead time to find your feet, with a realistic (shared) fundraising target of securing c.£500K of new voluntary income in 2027. There is significant untapped potential in fundraising for Voice 21. This is a great opportunity for an adaptable, proactive fundraiser to make their mark, gaining experience and developing expertise across high value streams. 

Key responsibilities

• Research and develop a qualified pipeline of trust/foundation and corporate prospects to ensure we achieve voluntary income targets in 2027/28 and beyond. 

• Draft winning funding bids and support the Head of Fundraising and/or CEO to develop compelling proposals and/or pitches. 

• Support and manage the CEO to lead relationships with funders and prospects.

• Lead on managing the funder reporting cycle and ensuring we deliver on our funding agreements, producing timely and inspiring impact reports.

• Drive awareness and understanding of fundraising internally by making connections with colleagues across the organisation and working collaboratively to support achieving fundraising goals. 

• Maintain the quality of data in the fundraising team CRM (Salesforce), managing contacts and pipelines through the database and producing accessible reports on fundraising performance and forecasts. 

Essential knowledge and skills

• Previous high value fundraising experience (trusts and foundations, corporates or philanthropy), with a track record of successfully securing significant donations and achieving income targets.

• Demonstrated ability to maintain a varied workload, deliver to deadlines, and successfully manage multiple work streams and projects.

• Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, with the confidence and evidenced ability to be able to nurture and maintain successful relationships with high value external stakeholders and senior colleagues. 

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with an ability to translate complex projects and/or ideas into accessible and persuasive narratives that inspire and motivate. 

• The instincts and initiative to spot and seize fundraising opportunities; with the resilience, flexibility and tenacity to guide long term fundraising activities through to successful outcomes. 

• Passionate about reducing educational inequalities and transforming learning and life chances for young people from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Where you’ll work: All Voice 21 staff work remotely and this is a home-based role. Regular travel to our central London office (by Victoria station) is expected for meetings. Regular travel to visit our projects in schools and/or to meet funders will also be expected. Occasional overnight stays may be required too. Voice 21 pays travel and accommodation expenses. The package of salary and expenses will be considered when agreeing a starting salary with the successful candidate. 

Contract: Permanent, subject to successful probation review after three months.

As a Specialist Debt Adviser you will hold a valid level 3 accredited qualification in Debt Advice (accredited through CMA, IMA, Wiser Adviser or similar) or alternatively Generalist Adviser certificate (Citizens Advice or similar), and Ideally a CertMAP.  You'll also have a thorough understanding of debt advice model with proven casework skills and experience of dealing with complex and challenging cases.  You will also have supervisory responsibilities which will cover training and development, monitoring from a compliance and quality perspective, and a strong coaching capability. 

You will have a minimum of 2 years of experience In providing comprehensive accredited debt advice.  Your experience in executing debt solutions such as (and not limited to) DMP, Bankruptcies, DRO, Breathing Space, Write Off, and undertaking income maximisation solutions such as charitable grants, issuing food and fuel vouchers, Uswitch checks and DHP and other benefit entitlement checks/referrals etc.

At a personal level you will also need to demonstrate resilience and the ability to, understand and empathise with clients from diverse range of backgrounds and disadvantaged groups living in the community, in particular barriers faced by over-indebted and financially excluded communities. You will also need to demonstrate a high standard of numeracy and computer skills, specifically IT skills with a strong command of the Microsoft Office suite with an ability to understand and analyse complex financial and other numerical information.

What will I be doing?

• Working as a core part of our Cancer Awareness team to engage people face-to-face, providing information on cancer prevention, screening and early detection

• Collecting and inputting data to evaluate local engagement activities

About the role:

The Social Care IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy, and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process, specialising in working with women whose families are involved with Family Children Services and risk to children is a factor.  You will work to make proactive contact and provide high quality advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women, focusing on working with those aged 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. This role is part advocacy, part training/education and project work to improve response to victim/survivors experiencing domestic abuse. You will be embedded in the local authority Family Children Services team, working with Social Care professionals to ensure they adopt a trauma informed approach, can recognise the dynamics of domestic abuse and are providing more holistic support. You will be the domestic abuse subject matter expert on site, upskilling fellow professionals and acting as a point of contact for any clients experiencing domestic abuse and support requirements from Family Children Services.

The Social Care project was established in 2021 and has been working in partnership with Hammersmith and Fulham Family Children Services, so the IDVAs will inherit strong working relationships and a commitment from all parties to offering more trauma-informed services.  The borough has a focus on prioritising and developing good DA work in social care and this is an opportunity to be a major player in institutional change, ensuring that women accessing Family Children services for their children have an improved experience and that the local authorities are leading the way for all survivors engaging with their services.

Advance delivers nationally accredited, quality marked services in Hammersmith & Fulham, Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea, Brent, Ealing, and across parts of East London. We work within a coordinated partnership response to domestic violence to provide independent domestic violence advocacy and support for women, children and young people and women’s community services for women who are involved in the criminal justice system, in anti-social behaviour or are at risk of breaking the law.

About You:

You will have an excellent understanding of domestic violence and its effects on women and children and of best practice within the domestic abuse in various areas of need, with particular knowledge on children safeguarding/legislation. As an experienced domestic violence advocate who has worked with complex and multiple needs, the post holder will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. Experience of direct work with female survivors of domestic violence, of supporting women with child safeguarding, needs, and of working within safeguarding procedures is essential for this post, as is the need to adopt and promote a strong partnership approach to service provision.

To be successful as the Social Care IDVA you will need the below experience and skills:

• You will establish positive, proactive, and innovative working relationships with housing services and partner agencies.Provide high-quality crisis intervention, information, advocacy, and proactive support to women referred to the service, in respect to risk management and safety planning, criminal and civil remedies, housing, health, welfare rights, and children’s legislation.
• Your abilities extend to assessing the needs and risks of survivors, carry out short and longer-term risk management, safety planning and support and identify and refer to services appropriate to their needs.Advising women of their rights and options for seeking help and support from other agencies and proactively advocate to ensure barriers to accessing support and protection are reduced. You will work as an advocate and educator to raise awareness and upskill professionals within Children Social Care plus work with colleagues to successfully develop and deliver training.

About the Community & Events Fundraising Officer role:

The Public Fundraising team are responsible for recruiting and stewarding new supporters in order to secure long-term income and growth. The Community & Events Fundraising Team sit within the Public fundraising team with the aim of raising essential funds for Royal Voluntary Service (RVS) by organising various fundraising initiatives to engage fundraisers, raise awareness, and support the mission of RVS.

The primary purpose of this role is to maximise income generation by organising and delivering a variety of community fundraising initiatives, including third-party sporting events and RVS-owned campaigns such as the Vintage Tea Party.

The Community & Events Fundraiser will provide stewardship to support fundraisers, building strong relationships to maximise amounts raised and boost supporter retention. Additionally, you will support the Community & Events Manager in building and maintaining relationships with RVS Community Centres, services, and groups, and in evolving the community fundraising programme. This includes developing flagship fundraising products, events, activities, and targeting specific fundraising audiences.

Location: This role is Home based with occasional national travel

Hours:  Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week

What you'll bring as our Community & Events Fundraising Officer:

Knowledge:

• Knowledge of CRM databases and Microsoft packages, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Knowledge of fundraising regulations and best practices.

Skills:

• Ability to work under pressure, manage time effectively, and prioritise workload.
• Good attention to detail, with strong organisational and administrative skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire enthusiasm in fundraisers and colleagues.

Experience:

• Previous experience in fundraising, preferably in Community & Events Fundraising, or relevant and transferable skills.
• Experience in delivering supporter care and planning and executing stewardship plans.
• Experience in supporting the delivery of projects, working with project plans, deadlines, and KPIs.
