Purpose and scope

Are you looking for a policy role where you can make a difference? Our client looking for a Senior Policy and Campaigns Adviser to translate our members’ views and experiences into robust policy positions that effectively influence the national agenda.

You’ll be part of the policy and campaigns team, responsible for ensuring our client maintains its position as a credible, influential stakeholder in the eyes of government, NHS systems and physician members.  

You’ll join the organisation just as it finalises its new strategy and decides its new areas of policy focus for the coming year. You’ll play a critical role in developing and delivering policy work on a range of high-profile topics to ensure we influence healthcare policy and the implementation of the 10 Year Health Plan.

You’ll need a sharp eye for detail and be able to quickly and accurately interpret and communicate complex information. You’ll use your enthusiasm, skills and experience to work with members to explore and turn their views into coherent policy positions. You will have strong experience of analysing policy developments in the external landscape and making recommendations for how to evolve policy positioning in response. You will be as comfortable speaking to officials and other stakeholders as you are writing policy reports, consultation submissions and briefings.

You will brief the president, senior officers and senior staff for meetings and play an active role in engaging external stakeholders in NHS systems and the wider sector. You will provide lead support to an advisory group, working closely with the chair to set and deliver a workplan.

Our client represents around 40,000 members and fellows in the UK and internationally. Our members and fellows work across over 30 medical specialties such as cardiology, neurology, infectious diseases, geriatric and respiratory and acute internal medicine - working in hospital and community settings.

The policy and campaigns team – which is part of the wider communications, policy and research directorate – is a fast paced, collaborative and innovative environment. You will help us shape objectives and continuously improve how we work.

Responsibilities

• Developing and delivering policy work across a range of topics within their policy portfolio.

• Delivering robust horizon scanning and policy monitoring to proactively identify key issues and opportunities to evolve their policy positioning and further their aims.
• Developing proactive and reactive policy positions on high-profile issues relating to the organisation's work, working in partnership with senior officers, members, communications colleagues and other staff and organisations as appropriate.
• Working flexibly and proactively, undertaking a range of work such as writing briefings, policy positions, reports, committee papers, consultation responses.
• Supporting senior officers and staff in stakeholder meetings, including researching and drafting briefings and yourself representing our client at meetings and events.

• Building and owning relationships with sector stakeholders, NHS systems and other organisations relevant to their policy and campaigns aims.

• Contributing policy advice to the media team to underpin media releases, comments, statements and opinion pieces.
• Supporting committees and advisory groups to develop and deliver policy work.
• Any other duties commensurate with your post, including deputising for the Head of policy and campaigns and other staff as required.

As a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, you will report directly to the Clinical Lead and support them in providing a comprehensive range of therapeutic interventions to clients of HBF.   

This role will include delivery of highly specialised psychological assessments for both medico-legal and clinical purposes, provision of appropriate evidence-based therapies, delivery of clinical supervision to staff, and where relevant, supervision of assistant and/or trainee clinical psychologists on final year specialist placements. At times, the role may include input into policy, research and fundraising and delivery of consultancy and training.  

We are looking for someone who is committed to working therapeutically with people who experienced human rights abuses and post-migration stressors and present with trauma spectrum disorders, depression, and anxiety as a result. In addition to proven experience in working therapeutically with this client group, the candidate will have a passion for human rights work beyond the individual client work, and a desire to contribute to effecting change at a policy level.  This role requires the ability to react and respond creatively and appropriately to the needs of the charity.   

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· To provide specialist psychological assessments and deliver individual and group-based psychological therapies to clients.

· To liaise with other non-statutory and statutory organisations on matters of clinical care, social needs, and policy. 

· Where appropriate, to train in the preparation of medico-legal reports and to contribute to the preparation these reports.

Where applicable:

· To provide internal and external training, where relevant. 

· To supervise other staff or trainees. This may include trainee clinical psychologists, assistant psychologists, research assistants or non-clinical staff.

· To input into case studies, policy and position statements with other members of the Helen Bamber Foundation. 

· To promote the work of the Helen Bamber Foundation at conferences and other events.

JOB SUMMARY: 

 To assist the Finance team with the day-to-day financial activities of International Medical Corps UK in ensuring appropriate finance management, accounting, control and reporting. The UK finance team, work in close collaboration with the finance team of our affiliate International Medical Corps based in LA and Split.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 

•  Appropriate and timely processing of accounts payable function;
•  Responding to payment requests using BACS and international transfers as appropriate
•  Timely disbursement of staff expenses; 
•  Set-up payments in the bank account in relation to UK suppliers and employees; 
•  Prepare vouchers for Foreign exchange transfers;
•  Tracing foreign exchange settlements and flag outstanding settlements;
•  Ensure uploading documents on Onbase Scanning and filing of bank statements, bank reconciliation, monthly folders for transactions during the month, third party documents and correspondence.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Typically, Bachelor's Degree in finance, Accounting Accounting. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
• Working towards a recognized accountancy qualification
• AAT qualified, ACCA, CIMA entry level;
• Proficient in using data analysis tools in excel for reports etc.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word Package;
• Prior experience of using ERM or accounting packages; 
• The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, and formulate messages in an engaging way.
• The ability to effectively analyse complex problems and suggest solution that would have positive impact on International Medical Corps needs

Our Young People’s Supported Housing Service is funded by Southwark Council to provide supported accommodation to care experienced young people (with the status as looked after children or care leavers), and/or young people at risk of homelessness within the North of the Borough:

• A 24-7 staffed 16 bed Ofsted registered supported housing project for young women aged 16-21.
• 40 bedspaces of accommodation across 10 properties, for young people aged 18-21 with visiting support.

Sounds great, what will I be doing?     

This role, open to female applicants only under Section 7(2) (b & e) of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975, involves delivering advocacy and intensive support services to all genders and non-binary survivors of domestic abuse, particularly those experiencing harmful practices . The postholder will work across hospital, healthcare, and community settings, acting as a single point of access for survivors at all risk levels. Key responsibilities include conducting DASH risk assessments, developing individual safety and support plans, providing crisis intervention, and ensuring high-risk survivors are represented through the MARAC process. The role also requires close collaboration with healthcare professionals, supporting them in managing disclosures, and ensuring survivors are connected to legal, housing, and welfare support as needed.

The advocate will play a vital role in improving outcomes for survivors, aiming to increase their safety, confidence, and quality of life. They will develop and review person-centred support plans, make safeguarding referrals, and attend relevant forums and committees. Accurate case recording, participation in supervision and training, and engagement in service co-production with survivors are essential components of the role. As a representative of Hestia, the postholder will maintain strong multi-agency partnerships, uphold service standards and confidentiality, and embody Hestia's values in all aspects of their work.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting survivors of domestic abuse and gender-based violence, with specific expertise in addressing harmful practices. This includes experience in risk assessment, developing safety and support plans, working within multi-agency settings, and delivering specialist domestic abuse training to professionals, particularly in healthcare environments. The candidate should also have a strong background in service user involvement and co-production, demonstrate the ability to remain calm and resilient under pressure, and be proficient in using computer-based systems for accurate case recording. 

In terms of skills and knowledge, the candidate must possess a deep understanding of the impact of domestic abuse and harmful practices on survivors and their children, as well as the legal, housing, and welfare systems relevant to their needs. They should be capable of working non-judgmentally and in an empowering way, have a strong grasp of safeguarding protocols, and experience in the MARAC process. Additionally, they must demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills, and the ability to evaluate training impact and apply learning to improve service delivery.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic relationship fundraiser to lead a step-change in major donor giving at the Trust. 

This role is for you if you are self-motivated and driven to ensure that targets are hit and projects are delivered to the highest possible standards. 

You will have demonstrable experience of securing and managing 5-figure+ gifts from donors and be a sophisticated communicator with a collaborative approach and the confidence to build relationships with and inspire colleagues, Trustees and donors.

Women’s Support Worker (Telephone)

Location: East London – Office based

Hours of work: 28 hours per week

Line Manager: Beyond Support Service Manager

Leave: 25 days plus bank holidays

Salary: £30,600 per annum FTE (this includes London weighting)

Pension: 5% employer contribution (with statutory 3% employee contribution)

Contract: Permanent

Beyond the Streets is a UK charity with over 20 years’ experience of partnering with women in the sex industry, to see them safe from coercion, violence and abuse. We deliver trauma-informed, person-centred support, provide training, and create resources and reports informed by research, lived experience, and practitioner experience.

Our ‘Direct Work’ is central to the organisation, and we are looking to recruit a new Women’s Support Worker. Taking a woman-centred approach, your role is to provide phone-based holistic support for women with complex needs who want support or to exit the sex industry. We are looking for someone with energy, motivation and experience of working with vulnerable adults; someone who a highly developed sense of self-awareness who can work in a gender and trauma informed way.

This role will be part of a small team of support workers, and a service manager, who deliver a call and email-based case work system. You will have frontline experience of working with individuals who experience multiple disadvantage. This might be in the VAWG sector, domestic abuse, substance misuse, mental health or counselling or direct experience of women in the sex industry. You will have a good understanding of working with vulnerable people and be aware of the need and processes around Safeguarding adults and children.

• Patience, compassion, non-judgemental and motivational attitude
• Resilience to work with women who have often experienced trauma
• A responsible, dedicated and flexible approach to work
• Competent IT knowledge and computer skills
