The Unifrog platform

Over the last 12 years, the Unifrog platform has grown enormously from its starting point as a simple tool to help students pick their UK university courses and apprenticeships. It now helps young people from 4 years old up to explore their interests, record the great things they’ve done, compare every post-16 and post-18 course in the UK and every undergraduate programme taught in English in the world, find and organise work experience, and draft their application materials. The platform also helps teachers and career advisers to guide students every step of the way, makes it easy for parents to explore the platform via their own accounts, and helps employer and university recruitment teams to interact directly with students. 

We have a long list of exciting projects for the platform, always aiming to achieve our mission. We are looking for someone to join Unifrog’s team to help us continually improve the platform’s existing tools, and to also develop new ones. 

What you’ll do

You’ll work on improving the platform itself, from how things work behind the scenes, to the user experience and how the tools work and look.

This role does not involve coding - instead you’ll develop and design clear ideas and plans with Unifrog’s two co-founders, and with other colleagues involved in platform development, and then you’ll work with our lead programmer to make them happen.

You will become an expert in:

• The needs of all our different user types, including students, teachers, school groups, universities, employers, and parents

• How to navigate the platform as a user of each type

• How the Unifrog platform works behind the scenes

You’ll be part of the team that:

• Collates feedback on the platform, deciding which changes to move ahead with, and how
   

• Comes up with and designs ideas for platform improvements

• Develops and designs completely new tools

• Investigates potential bugs and comes up with suggested solutions

• Communicates platform changes to the Unifrog team

• Answers queries about the platform from colleagues

 

Working together

You’ll regularly be working with:

• Unifrog’s two co-founders and other colleagues involved in maintaining and developing the platform – in particular our data and content teams – to come up with improvements to the platform and to develop new projects

• Our lead programmer to implement ideas

• User-facing colleagues to understand what our users are asking for, as well as communicate to them what things have changed on the platform

• (More occasionally, but especially at the beginning) our users, when you need to have a greater understanding of a particular topic

You will be line-managed by Unifrog’s two co-founders.

 

Skills and characteristics

We are looking for an independent worker with design skills, who is a great problem solver and is motivated to find an elegant solution, whatever the issue.

Design
 

We’ve developed and plan to keep developing a large range of tools on the platform, like:

• Quizzes

• Tools to make large banks of information easy to search and understand

• Tools to simplify complex workflows

• Integrations with other platforms

• Document creation that involves input from multiple people

• Data visualisation

The problems we come up against can involve:

• Different users handling the same processes in different ways from each other

• Different groups of users having competing wants

• A data provider changing the way they structure their data

• Users not completing an important action on the platform

• A change on one tool having a knock-on effect on several other tools

• Users expressing their needs and ideas in uncertain or ambiguous ways
   

Your challenge is to design concrete solutions that work for everyone, which are as simple as possible to implement, and which are immediately understandable by a user who’s never seen them before.

Independence and initiative
 

You will work closely with Unifrog’s two co-founders. While colleagues from the wider team will be involved in coming up with ideas and telling you what they need, you will be the only team member, apart from the co-founders, in the product development team.

Because Unifrog’s co-founders work remotely and are also involved in other areas of the business, this will require you to be a good independent worker:
 

• Able to plan a project and stick to timelines, even when you need to get input from other team members

• Confident to come up with your own ideas, sort out good ideas from less useful ones, and make decisions based on information you’ve researched or been given by other team members

• Open when getting feedback

• Able to adapt to a team used to working in an informal way with few processes, allowing for flexibility and rapid advancements

• Driven to get projects finished and signed off

• Communication

You will need to understand and translate the issues that a user is facing to our lead programmer, and tell him your ideas for solutions and explain your designs in a way that will allow him to get working without needing lots of clarification.

You will need to communicate what development work is happening to the rest of the Unifrog team, and you’ll need to help your colleagues find the best way to tell users about it in turn.

Finally, you will need to be able to adapt your communication style depending on the person you are communicating with, including our lead programmer, other Unifrog team members, or partners and users.

Key details

• £45,000 per annum (Grade B)

The Sick Children’s Trust is the charity that gives families with a seriously ill child in hospital a comfortable place to stay and a friendly ear to listen in one of our ten ‘Homes from Home’. We are looking for a House Manager who is hardworking and has excellent people skills to manage our ‘Homes from Home’  Stevenson House supporting families at The Royal London Hospital. 

You will be responsible for managing the house including working with the hospital to admit and welcome families, property maintenance, daily administration and compliance such as health and safety, and will be hands on with light domestic duties to prepare rooms for families and ensure the house is maintained to a high standard.

As Finance & Operations Manager at the Foyer Federation, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and building our finance and administrative functions at an operational and strategic level. You will support all aspects of the charity's work and development through the provision of strong financial assistance - ensuring accurate financial reporting, sales invoicing, bookkeeping, grant management and payroll management. About This Role

We are looking for an exceptional Outreach Manager to lead our outreach and develop excellent referral partner relationships across London. Our Outreach Manager will play a vital role in ensuring that as many women as possible know about and can access our service. 

This is an exciting opportunity for an organised, passionate, strategic, and relationship-driven individual to grow our reach and impact within London (and beyond). 

The role would be based across all of London and our three London centres (Islington, Ladbroke Grove and Croydon). You will be expected to travel to and attend outreach events, as well as meeting referral partner organisations. Your mission

We are looking for an ambitious, experienced Head of Brand Marketing, who has a strategic mindset and is motivated by commercial creativity. Reporting into the Marketing Director, the role will lead CALM’s brand marketing to drive awareness, deepen understanding of CALM’s mission and to inspire action to change culture and ultimately prevent suicide. They will be responsible for the strategic direction, creative leadership and guardianship of the CALM brand — ensuring our campaigns, partnerships and marketing communications are bold, distinctive, integrated and achieve real impact.

Responsibilities

Brand Strategy & Leadership

• Own and evolve CALM’s brand strategy, ensuring it aligns with organisational goals and keeps CALM culturally relevant and distinctive.

• Lead on long-term brand positioning, audience strategy and messaging frameworks that build understanding of CALM’s mission and grow awareness, trust and engagement.

About the Role

The Intensive Engagement Hub is an innovative new pilot service, run in partnership with Westminster City Council.

You will have the chance to be part of this exciting new approach to engage people experiencing rough sleeping who are furthest from help.  

As part of a small team, you will work intensively with people rough sleeping in Westminster whose physical and mental health, and engagement with services is creating a persistent barrier to their full assessment and plan to move into stable accommodation.

The pilot will provide;

• Full time wrap around case work for a cohort of approximately 20 people at a time, using the principles of a psychologically informed approach, to develop a plan with the person to support their move on into longer term accommodation, alongside building up a network of professionals around them to support wider stabilisation with health needs. The caseload will be distributed across the team 

• A schedule of temporary accommodation ‘hubs’ set up throughout the year and run from our Centre in Adelaide St. Each hub will offer communal style accommodation for each cohort and will run for up to 8 weeks (we plan to run 4 Hubs throughout the year). The offer of accommodation will be providing an incentive to engage, alongside a short term period of stability to focus on peoples physical & mental health, assessment and facilitation of access to other support services. 

As a result, we will be able to make a new offer to rough sleepers, for whom existing approaches have not been successful, giving them fresh opportunity to engage with the life changing services available that will stabilise them to be ready to move into settled accommodation.  

This is a pilot project, so this will be an opportunity to be part of testing a new approach, which if successful could dramatically improve systems and practices for the those with the most complex needs across the UK.

You will be flexible, adaptable and open to new ways of working, willing to try new approaches and being prepared to learn from mistakes. When the accommodation hubs are open the role will require flexibility and a rota system to ensure evening cover during the week and weekends (overnight cover not required). 

You will be joining the wider dynamic and creative team at The Connection who are grounded in building trust through relationships, providing harm minimisation to our clients whilst promoting a sense of belonging, and working with clients to support them on their journey towards a place to call home.

Salary: £38,753

The Head of Organisational Delivery is the charity’s senior lead for ensuring our organisational systems, infrastructure, processes, and reporting frameworks run smoothly and efficiently. Working closely with the CEO, you will ensure the whole organisation has what it needs to deliver outstanding services.

You will oversee the Interim Services Manager, lead cross-organisational delivery projects, and ensure that contracts, reporting cycles, KPIs, and organisational compliance requirements are met on time, every time.

Key Responsibilities

About You

We’re looking for someone who is confident walking into complexity and creating order. You will bring:

About the team

The Programme Support & Knowledge (PSK) team is a critical and dynamic unit within WaterAid UK’s International Programmes Department (IPD), working across 17 countries in Africa and Asia. PSK is a diverse and motivated group of over 20 technical specialists and advisors committed to bringing sustainable WASH to the world’s poorest and most marginalised people.

About the role

As our Programme Support and Knowledge Director, you will play a key role in delivering our mission by providing strategic leadership to the PSK team and the wider IPD, as part of the department’s SMT. You will also input into organisation-wide initiatives, external collaborations and global networks to drive sustainable change.

In this role, you will:

• Provide strategic and technical leadership to WaterAid UK’s programmes
• Lead the Programme Support & Knowledge Team
• Lead programme learning and knowledge management
• Oversee programme support and capacity development
• Support fundraising, external engagement, partnerships and communications
• Champion WaterAid’s commitment to equity, inclusion and safeguarding.

Requirements

To be successful, you will need:

• Extensive and deep experience in WASH development across multiple contexts
• Strong technical WASH skills – e.g. sustainable rural and /or urban water supply service delivery and management, climate resilient WASH, 
• Systems-thinking capability to support transformational WASH programming
• Proven ability to lead strategic, impactful initiatives in large organisations
• Strong understanding of planning, monitoring and evaluation in development
• Experience in knowledge management, learning and capacity development
• Proven experience of developing propositions and donor engagement and
• A track record of leading high-performing teams and supporting change

Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have:

• Working knowledge of French, Portuguese or Spanish
• Experience leading or managing applied research
• Experience establishing and promoting technical standards.

Head of Safeguarding

About the role

This role is accountable for playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of safe, high-quality safeguarding processes, procedures, reporting systems across Galop. It is also entrusted with reporting to the board, promoting a culture of safeguarding and learning from safeguarding incidents.

This is a high-impact and strategically significant position, ensuring the development and enhancement of safeguarding frameworks.

The post-holder will act as the organisation’s Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, with the Director of Services continuing to hold the Designated Safeguarding Lead role. The post-holder will also work closely with Heads of Service, service managers, senior leadership, trustees, and teams across the organisation to foster a culture in which safeguarding is deeply embedded and consistently prioritised.

This role holds the responsibility for delivering high quality operations, quality assuring and working on key cases

Due to the nature of the role, regular evening and weekend work may be required. Hybrid working is available, but it is anticipated that this role will be required to regularly work and attend meetings in the Galop building in central London.
