Kineara has a new vacancy for an experienced Housing Support Worker to join our small and dedicated team in this new project supporting recent granted refugees to find accommodation.

About the project

Set up by Southwark Council, the Homes for Ukraine project supports families and individuals from Ukraine who have been granted visas to live and work in the UK. After an initial period living with host families or in temporary accommodation, the project helps households take the next step towards independence by supporting them to move into private rented accommodation, assisting them in finding employment, and linking them with wider community support networks, while working holistically to ensure their individual needs are met. This approach aims to help Ukrainian households settle and thrive in the UK.

This project will be delivered alongside our Refugee PRS Renters Support Programme in Southwark. We will provide crucial crisis support to vulnerable renters and are looking for a passionate housing support worker to be part of the next phase of the project. About the role

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and energetic support worker to take up a full-time role within our organisation as a Housing Support Practitioner in our small and dedicated team. The role will be based mostly in Southwark, and you will be working in partnership with the Council’s housing officers and resettlement workers, refugee support organisations, community services.

The role involves:

• Coordinate tailored support for each client to find and sustain tenancies and mediating with landlords where necessary.
• Providing housing advice and help find employment. 
• Support access to PRS properties.
• Provide information about housing market and polices.
• Help set up sustainable tenancies.
• Support to increase employment and training opportunities.

About you

• You will have experience of working with individuals with complex needs and comple needs assessments.
• You will be an enthusiastic person who is self-motivated, confident and thrives when working independently with a passion to support change.
• You will have excellent interpersonal skills, experience delivering holistic support, be a solution-minded thinker, have a good understanding of strength-based approaches and be able work sensitively and empathetically with people in vulnerable circumstances.
• You have good knowledge of housing and homelessness policies in England.
• You will also have experience working in a systemic and therapeutic way and ideally have trauma informed training or experience.
• You have experience with keeping records and contributing data for reports and monitoring purposes.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead on the overall donor development offline programme for both cash and committed donors, ensuring a strong onboarding and onward journey is in place, and that key touchpoints are leveraged to deepen engagement and increase donors’ Lifetime Value.
• Work with digital fundraising colleagues to create integrated, multichannel campaigns and an effective, donor-first giving journey.
• Provide colleagues with strategic guidance, and technical support if required, to deliver warm appeals via Direct Mail that meet six-figures campaign targets.
• Manage our Telemarketing programme, to successfully launch and deliver activities such as conversion, upgrade, reactivation, and welcome calling.
• Ensure an insight-led thanking programme is in place, with key moments identified throughout the year to acknowledge support and communicate impact.
• Work with key stakeholders across digital and offline teams to ensure we maintain a strong retention rate whilst growing our Regular Giving file.
• Remain flexible and rapidly respond to emergency situations.
• Work with our Data team to identify the best approach to data and segmentation for each project.
• Manage production processes, developing supplier briefs and managing approval stages and end of campaign reviews.
• Work with our suppliers to ensure campaign fulfilment is in place and collaborate with our Supporter Care function to monitor responses and identify issues/opportunities.
• Ensure cost effective fundraising, manage individual campaign budgets and identify opportunities to improve ROIs.

SiteWorks offers a website presence solution for u3as, Networks and Regions. A volunteer-led team provide WordPress websites on a managed platform. SiteWorks provides over 700 u3as with a website presence.

A central aspect of this role will be working closely with volunteers; the service manager will play a key role in overseeing and supporting the ongoing operation of both these systems. Historically theses services have largely been managed by volunteer teams, whose commitment and expertise have been vital to the success of both systems. We are looking for a candidate with strong budget oversight and organisational skills to join our small team and be our lead for Camden's Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme, a national programme funded by the Department for Education. With the support of YCF's Head of Partnerships & Grants and CEO, you will oversee and manage a significant budget, and all project management aspects of the programme, to ensure excellent, high-quality provision for Camden's Free School Meal eligible children and young people. 

In August 2025, the programme was extended nationally by the DfE for an additional three years, and we await confirmation as to the exact allocation for Camden, which would hopefully enable us to extend this role to a three year contract to 2029. 

About the HAF programme in Camden and this role

Young Camden Foundation has been Camden Council’s delivery partner for the national, Department for Education funded Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme since its inception in 2021. The programme distributes around £800,000 per year to support Free School Meal eligible children and young people in the borough across the main holidays of Spring, Summer and Winter.

You will lead all project management, from budget stewardship to overseeing programme delivery, with the support of the team. You will oversee a complex budget of around £800,000 ensuring its effective use throughout the year. You will ensure that each HAF programme in Camden offers young participants a diverse and enjoyable range of activities provided by respected organisations, operating at the highest levels of safety, quality, and in alignment with the Department for Education’s funding requirements. You will lead on all reporting, data processing, overseeing of invoicing, and communications of the programme.

Sounds great, what will I be doing?

You will support women with multiple and complex needs across Hestia's pan-London refuges, ensuring they have access to therapeutic support that facilitates their recovery. You will provide immediate crisis intervention and create a safe, welcoming environment for women fleeing domestic abuse. You will ensure access to emergency supplies such as clothing and toiletries, apply for relevant grants, and help women maximise their income.

You will work closely with refuge staff, offering additional support and upskilling teams to manage challenging behaviours with resilience and confidence. You will build strong partnerships with external agencies including mental health services, drug and alcohol teams, the DWP, police, housing authorities, social services, and voluntary organisations to safeguard and promote the welfare of service users.

You will maintain relationships with GPs and health professionals to explore treatment options, including social prescribing, and support women in attending appointments. You will coordinate cases across multiple refuge sites, delivering bespoke interventions and high-quality assessments aligned with ‘The Hestia Approach', a trauma-informed framework that prioritises recovery and individual strengths.

You will co-produce Safety Plans and Strengths and Aspirations Plans with women, focusing on their goals and capabilities. You will provide domestic abuse support and risk management through tools such as DASH and MARAC, while ensuring compliance with safeguarding legislation for both children and adults. You will promote a trauma-informed, anti-racist, and intersectional feminist culture, placing women with multiple support needs at the centre of service delivery, and you will work in line with Hestia's values: Respectful, Genuine, Dedicated, Collaborative, and Courageous.

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled  professional with strong communication abilities. You will have experience delivering high-quality support to individuals with varied needs and risks, including survivors of domestic abuse, and be confident in identifying and managing risk appropriately.

You should be proficient in using computer-based systems to record work accurately and possess sound knowledge of welfare benefits, housing legislation, and the rights of survivors under the Domestic Abuse Act 2021. A solid understanding of health and safety within a refuge setting and safeguarding practices is essential.
